Chapter 24 : Truth Hurts

 

 

Chaerin’s POV

 

Jb’s dead? No, it can’t be! It’s been 20 minutes since Minji told us that JB is already dead but still I can’t accept the fact that she’s gone.  It hurts for me but what more if Ryo finds out

 

“Can you tell us the exact location where you last saw her?”I heard my wife asked Minji who just nod her head

 

“I know it’s hard but we need to move now guys. We need to get JB’s body and put Kenshin behind bars..”she added

 

“He already killed my cousin, I don’t think I can take it if something bad happen to you, to Minji and Ryo..”I said while looking at the ground

 

“Nothing will happen to me Chaerin, Nothing—“i cut her off and look her straight in her eyes

 

“They killed JB Dara!! You also said to her that nothing will happen but where she is now?!!”I yelled, i saw her look down, I didn’t mean to yell at her and I know this is not her fault

 

“My cousin’s gone and there’s no power on earth that could take her back! This is my fault! !!!”i Yelled again

 

“It’s not your fault nor anyone’s fault. Kenshin is the one to blame. I should have not let her join this mission because it’s too dangerous..”Dara said

 

“But knowing my cousin, she will insist to join..”Minji said while smiling a little, I saw tears falls from her eyes

 

How can this happen? I thought we’re going to be okay and complete when we out Kenshin behind bars but now we’re incomplete, the younger one is gone

 

“We will find her okay, for now we need to find Ryo..”Dara said, I nod at her and she walk towards Minji, hold her hand and hug her

 

“Sorry I didn’t protect her and—“I saw Dara pull Minji again for a hug, tears flowing on her face as well as mine

 

“I’m the one who wants to say sorry Minji but I’ll avenge what Kenshin did to her, I promise you that..”

 

 

 

 

The three started walking still trying to find Ryo, they don’t know where she is. Minji is trying her best to make the radio works again while remembering the last spot where they shot JB. They were inching closer to the warehouse in the middle of the lake again but as they approach the area as fast as they can, Dara pulled Chaerin and Minji and hide

 

“I want you to search the area! She can’t run that fast anymore..”they heard a man ordered his men

 

“And when you see the others, don’t hesitate to shoot them, got it?”he added

 

“Okay boss!”the men divided into three groups the two groups will go search while the 3^rd one will stay in the area for lookout

 

‘We can’t go near the warehouse if they are blocking our way’Dara whispered to the two

 

‘But we need to find Ryo first, I don’t want something bad happen to her too..’Chaerin whispers

 

‘Yeah we will, I think she’s the one they are searching for..’Dara answered, she then look at Minji who is busy looking around

 

‘Minji’Dara called her but no response, Chaerin then look at her too

 

‘Hey’Chaerin said then nudge her elbow

 

‘Huh?’Minji asked

 

‘What’s wrong?’Dara asked her but she didn’t answer

 

‘I know you are worried for Ryo’s safety. We will find her first before they do okay?’Minji just nod her head, Dara then talk to Chaerin about a plan, she said that she’ll be the decoy while she and Minji secure the area and make sure no one is guarding their way. Dara moves like a ninja, she already took out two men and going for her third when she accidentally stepped on a branch, the man turn around and saw her and starts to shoot

 

“Go! I’ll take care of this!”Dara shouted at the two, knowing that there’s a chance they’ll die because of the unlimited ammo and guns they have

 

“What about you?”Chaerin shouted at her

 

“I’ll meet you guys at the lake, please take care and LIVE!”

 

“We will! I Love You!”

 

“I Love You..”Dara then moves and throw a rock towards the man and hit him on the sensitive spot

 

‘Not what I’m aiming for but hell yeah bullseye!’ she saw Chaerin and Minji run towards the lake while some of the men are shooting at them

 

 

 

ON THE OTHER SIDE

The group heard the gun shots and they know it’s not that far, Seunghyun motion for his team to move, Ryo is in the middle and they need to protect her with all they might

 

 

 

 

 

As for Chaerin and Minji, they are almost at the lake when they saw 4 men waiting for them. Chaerin only has one gun and a couple of magazines on her pocket

 

“Unnie..”Minji said, she look at the 4 men and saw that they are carrying a sub machine gun

 

“Going somewhere ladies?”asked one of them and point the guns towards them

 

Think Chaerin! Think!

 

She then grab Minji and make her fall on her feet

 

“What are you doing Unnie?”Minji asked her, panicking

 

“I’m here to talk with Kenshin, I want this fight to stop and I’m willing to give up myself and my cousin if you just stop!” Chaerin said and ignores Minji

 

“Do you thinkwe are stupid enough to believe on what you’re saying?”and they laugh but Chaerin aim the gun at Minji and fire the gun closer to Minji, the men stops laughing and she got their attention

 

“I told you I’m here to talk to him! Bring him to me!”a man slowly walks towards them and said

 

“We will bring you to him if you will kill her right in front of us..”CHaerin gritted her teeth and look at her cousin

 

“Do it and you’ll be able to stop this war, Ms. Lee..”the man added, Chaerin thinks of JB, her wife, their daughter, Ryo and their other friends. The truth is she wanted to stop this, she wants to surrender and sacrifice her life but everytime she tries, she always saw Dara and their daughter

 

“Just do it Unnie!”she heard Minji said, Chaerin doesn’t know what to do anymore and the men are still aiming their guns at them

 

“If you can’t do it then let me..” the man said, he aim the gun at Minji but all of a sudden they saw him fall down

 

“Take cover!”they heard Dara’s voice, Chaerin pulled Minji and hide on a tree just in time when Kenshin’s men starts shooting at them again

 

“You need to do this Chaerin!”Dara yelled while reloading her gun

 

“Do what?!”Chaerin asked

 

“You need to finish this with or without me!”

 

“What do you mean by that?”

 

“This is all my fault from the start! I put all our lives in danger!”

 

“This is not your fault Dara! Don’t you ever say that!”

 

“JB’s gone because of this, I promise you that I will avenge her death!”Chaerin looks at her wife and she notice that she’s bleeding from the side

 

“You’ve been shot? Hang-on, I’m coming!” Chaerin was about to move when Dara stops her

 

“If you move, you’ll die! Do as I say Chaerin, run and find Unnie and her team!”

 

“Dara no! I won’t leave you!”

 

“You need to! Please tell our baby that I love her so much..”Dara said with a smile on her face

 

“Please don’t baby! Don’t do this..”Chaerin begs but Dara didn’t listen

 

“This is for you JB..”she said and stands up, she run towards the men and starts to fire

 

“Unnie!”Minji shouted as she saw Dara been shoot twice, Chaerin run towards her but Minji stops her

 

“Run!”Dara shouted and continues firing, the two saw two grenades been thrown towards Dara, lucky for her they miss

 

“We need to go!”Minji said as they saw smokes everywhere

 

“No! I won’t leave her!”Chaerin said and search for her wife but she didn’t find her

 

 

 

Seunghyun together with Bom and the others, found Chaerin and Minji sitting on the ground and catching their breath. As soon as the two saw them, Minji immediately run towards Ryo and hug her, Seunghyun and Jiyong help Chaerin to stand up and let her sit next to Bom so she can treat her wounds

 

“What happened?”Bom asked her but Chaerin didn’t speak

 

“Where’s Dara and JB, Minji?”Seunghyun asked the young girl, she look at Ryo first then to Seunghyun and the rest

 

“Minji?”Taeyang called her

 

“We got separated from Dara-Unnie..”she answered

 

“What about JB?”JIyong asked her, they heard her cry and Ryo starts to feel her heart beat faster

 

“Minji, w-what happened to JB?”Ryo asked, getting enough courage to ask and getting ready for whatever she might hear

 

“U-unnie, Unnie I’m sorry..”Minji answered, Ryo starts to cry as so as Chaerin

 

“I tried to save her but she told me to go ask for help and find you guys. I don’t want to leave her but she forced me too..”Minji answered, Bom look at Chaerin and asked

 

“How about Dara? Why she got separated from you two?” Chaerin just look at her

 

“Chaerin..”Seunghyun said then Bom asked again

 

“Where is she?”

 

“I don’t know! She blamed herself for what happened to JB! She left me with Minji and i don’t know where she goes!” Chaerin answered and wipe the tears on her face

 

“Damn it! She’ll be in trouble if we won’t follow her right this moment..” Jiyong said

 

“I know! Minji, Ryo take cover okay, we will attack them now and i want you guys to protect each other..” Seunghyun commanded

 

“What about JB’s.. JB’s body?” Ryo asked, Chaerin immediately stands up and went to her, she look straight into her eyes and said

 

“I will get her back I promise you that! And I’ll make sure that Kenshin won’t see the light of day AGAIN!!”

 

 

 

Dara continues on running trying to lost the men chasing after her, she was shot three time, one on the leg and two on the right shoulder, she rest for a while and hide behind the bushes, she looks at her wound, not deadly but she’ll die if she runs out of blood

 

“I guess this is my destiny. Maybe this time I’ll die for real..”she said to herself, she closes her eyes and thinks of her family

 

“I hope I still have a chance to say goodbye to my little one..”she added, a tear escaped from her eye, she knows that no matter how hard they try to capture Kenshin, they can’t if they don’t have any back-up

 

“I don’t want to lose another member of my family..”she bow her head and starts to cry as she thinks of JB

 

“I’m sorry Ryo, I’m so sorry..” she said in between tears, she stops when she felt someone standing in front of her and heard a voice saying

 

“Don’t cry, you’ll be able to say goodbye to your little one and say sorry to Ryo too!”
