Kyuhyun had been walking around at the amusement park for the past ten minutes, debating whether to go for a ride on the Ferris wheel, but in the end he decided to go for it.

He lined up like the other people and waited impatiently.

Tapping his foot for the slightest bit of entertainment he grew more anxious every second, while the crowd around him slowly disappeared.

He thoroughly examined his surroundings, thinking of what he could do next, since this was one of the few times he got the chance to go to an amusement park, and he wanted to enjoy it to the fullest.

In a glimpse of an eye he perceived a little, dark figure, way smaller than the others.

Narrowing his eyes to get a better view, he searched for that small figure, but it was nowhere to be found.

Kyuhyun shrugged it off, thinking he must have been imagining things, as if a little child would be still out at a time like this.

When it was finally Kyuhyun’s turn, he handed a few coins to the old lady, who was sitting behind the counter, from where she also controlled the Ferris wheel, just to get a ticket, which he had to give away soon after.

He sat down onto the soft seats in the gondola and slightly dozed off under the beautiful night sky of Seoul, lazily watching the stars, while it seemed like they’d approach him.

When his gondola had reached the highest spot, he carefully slid closer towards the window, from where he admired the colorful and bright amusement park.

Just for a second he thought he saw a small, dark figure again, one who just seemed too familiar.

Kyuhyun quickly rubbed his eyes in disbelief, not able to imagine that he could have seen correctly.

Because if he had, that little shade of a person had just waved at him.

And how impossible would that be?

As if someone would be able to actually recognize someone on a huge Ferris wheel – especially a little child, who didn’t seem to reach much higher than to Kyuhyun’s stomach?

He watched the little boy waving enthusiastically, before he got the conclusion, he wasn’t waving at him.

Nodding in agreement to his on argument, he continued examining the cute boy, who was eating pink cotton candy, taking small pieces off it, before placing them in his mouth – sometimes missing it.

Suddenly all Kyuhyun could see was white – white fog.

He backed away in disbelief, before he realized that the glass got foggy because of his breath.

Quietly giggling at his silliness, he let his eyes wander around the place again, carefully looking at every face, to recognize the one of that little boy.

The gondola started moving again, and Kyuhyun grew desperate.

Just one glance, he begged to see of that little boy, and his wish was granted.

His bewildered eyes, that had been rushing left and right, up and down, franticly, came to a sudden halt, when he saw an adorable pout, while a big tear rolled down the chubby cheek of the small face.

Kyuhyun’s heart clenched at that sight, seeing the little boy from before crying like this, and he swore to himself, he was going to make that boy laugh and shine like before.

When his gondola finally reached the floor, Kyuhyun ran impatiently across the place, looking for the cute boy again, as it seemed he had disappeared.

He searched for him around the Ferris wheel, at the roller coasters, at the train and water rides and even at the playing area for adults, but nowhere a hint of the sad boy.

Kyuhyun tightly furrowed his eyebrows and kicked a stone in anger, after concluding the boy had probably left.

His hands in the pockets of his pants strongly fisted the inner surface and he unconsciously started to continuously kick the stone into one particular direction.

The stone bounced off a wooden booth, and just before he wanted to give it another last, hard kick, his ears perked up, while his body froze in a fraction of a second.

It was almost inaudibly, but he could clearly hear the quiet sobs that came from the other side of the booth.

With slow and careful steps, he made his way to the corner of the booth, to stick his head around the corner, where he indeed found the little boy from before, crying his eyes out.

Kyuhyun felt his own eyes tearing as well, but before those tears could escape, they were quickly wiped away, before Kyuhyun quickly stepped to the boy and kneeled beside him, eying the small figure in front of him, while waiting for him to recognize his presence.

The boy had been sitting on the cold and dirty floor behind a booth, his face buried in his palms that rested on his knees, he had drawn close to his body.

“Hey, what’s wrong, little one?” Kyuhyun asked calmly, but worried, while carefully wiping a strand of hair out of the boy’s face, when he finally lifted it.

His eyes were puffy and red, yet still adorable as he remembered, pink cotton candy was sticking on his chin, on his cheeks and of the tip of his nose, making him look even cuter, and his face was marked by wet tears.

For a moment the small boy smiled brightly at him, while he roughly wiped his tears away, before swallowing another lump.

“I-I… I dropped my cotton candy!” after saying those words, big tears rolled down the boy’s cheeks anew, while Kyuhyun had to stifle his laughter.

“Sshh, it’s okay, don’t worry!” Kyuhyun tried to soothe the desperate boy, while gently caressing those incredibly soft and chubby cheeks.

Another sob followed, before he lifted his face again, staring at Kyuhyun with tears-filled eyes, making Kyuhyun’s heart clench anew.

“R-really?” he managed to ask and his eyes were immediately filled with hope and joy, while a bright smile was drawn on his adorable, chubby face.

“Yeah, let’s go!” Kyuhyun replied and got up from the floor, before taking the little boy’s hand and helping him up, and leading him towards another booth, where cotton candy was sold.

“Thanks, mister!” the little boy chirped in glee, after receiving another red-white striped rod with pink cotton candy.

“It was nothing, really.” Kyuhyun replied amusedly, watching the little boy greedily devouring the fluffy, pink treat.

“Oh, and please, call me Kyuhyun, I’m still only 20, I’m not a mister!” he acted to scold the little boy, who only giggled adorably in reply, as his adorable eyes narrowed into two half-moons, his noes slightly scrunching up, while the corners of his lips formed a dazzling smile.

“You are a mister, you are old! I’m only five!” the cute, and apparently cheeky, boy answered and pointed at Kyuhyun with his short, chubby finger.

Kyuhyun laughed at this statement and slightly shook his head, wondering how one single person could be that adorable, no matter how young or small that human was.

“Then you should quickly go to bed to get some sleep, I bet it has passed your bedtime long ago!” Kyuhyun pointed out and childishly stuck out his tongue, whereupon the small child responded the same way.

“You really should go home now and get some sleep, it’s late! Come on, where’s your mommy or daddy?” Kyuhyun asked seriously and lead the boy to the entrance of the amusement park, thinking the little boy’s mother would be surely desperate, after her son disappeared.

“Mommy! Mommy!” the boy squeaked in happiness, after discovering a young woman, who was rushing all over the place, a bewildered look shown on her face, but as soon as she heard that soft voice, she froze in an instant and ran towards that direction, from where the voice came from.

“Oh darling! How could you do this to mommy? Don’t disappear like that ever again, do you understand? I was worried to death!” the frustrated woman cried, while hugging her son tightly to her chest, while she nuzzled her face into the soft hair of her son, who only giggled quietly and protested, because she was slightly tickling him with her hot breath.

Before she slowly got up, she gently patted the child’s head, and directed her gaze at Kyuhyun, while holding her son’s hand.

“Thank you, thank you so much for taking care of him! Thank you so much! You are my savior!” she sobbed, while pressing Kyuhyun’s body against her own with that hand, that wasn’t holding her son’s.

“Thank you so much, mister!” she breathed out again, after releasing Kyuhyun from the tight hug, while tears escaped her eyes.

“He’s not a mister, mommy, he’s only 20!” the adorable boy protested and cutely stuck out his pink tongue, causing Kyuhyun to laugh heartily and his mother to smile brightly.

“Thank you, again! I really can’t thank you enough!” the woman repeated, tears already flowing down her face, whereupon Kyuhyun only shook his head.

“It was a pleasure.” Kyuhyun replied truthfully and smiled gently at the two in front of him, who smiled back at him.

“I’m sorry, but we really have to go now, it has passed that young man’s bedtime long time ago!” the little boy’s mother pointed out, while tapping the watch on her wrist, before she kneeled down beside her son.

“Now say than friendly young man good night and let’s go, okay honey?” she told the small child, who immediately tightly wounded his short arms around Kyuhyun’s hips, his head leaning against his lower belly, before he lifted his cute face.

Kyuhyun started to gently caress the soft, black hair of the small child, while his other hand held his back close to his own body.

“Good night, Kyuhyun-mister! And sleep well! See you later!” the exasperated boy chirped in glee, while sticking out his tongue and before unwillingly detaching his arms of Kyuhyun.

After that the two left, leaving Kyuhyun behind, while listening to their conversation and waving at the adorable boy, who cutely waved back.

“So that nice man’s name is Kyuhyun?” he heard the woman ask her son, who was happily skipping ahead.

“Yes! He’s sooo nice!” the child exclaimed and widened his arms in the air, to show his mother how nice exactly Kyuhyun was.

“He bought me cotton candy!” – was the declaration, of why Kyuhyun was so nice.

“Oh really? That was really nice of him!” his mother agreed, while softly placing her hand on her son’s shoulder.

“Yes! And he did not scold me for sticking out my tongue at him!” the adorable boy continued excitedly.

“So? Well, still you shouldn’t do that!” was the last sentence Kyuhyun heard, before the cute child and his mother disappeared behind a corner.

Kyuhyun sighed and yawned tiredly, before he himself slowly made his way towards his home, unconsciously aware, that this wasn’t the last time, he had met the boy.

And he was incredibly thankful for that.
