“Minnie, are you gonna stay here for good?” Heechul asked while after sipping his soup. They’re spending their whole day at
their mansion to catch up on each other, still trying to avoid topics that involved Yixing.
Minseok stab his well-done steak one last time, “I’m not sure, hyung. The company gave me some time to think and recuperate
from all the stress that I’ve been through. They said it’s up to me when will I go back.”
“You know that you can have your own company, Min. You can be the boss and you’ll be the one calling the shots.”
The younger Kim smiled at his brother. Here we go again, he thought. His brother has been convincing him to put up his own
recording company ever since he chose this path.
“Hyung--.”
“I know, I know. It’s tiring running a company. Sometimes, Min, you’re such a lazy .”
They look at each other in the eyes but burst out laughing afterwards. A comfortable silence filled the air and it made Heechul
smile. Just like the old times, he thought.
After finishing their food, they spent their time watching movies with junk foods scattered around their theater room and
reminiscing the old times. The ringing of Minseok’s phone halted their little chat.
The shorter man frowned when an unregistered number flashed on the screen.
“Don’t you want to answer that?” Heechul asked after noticing the hesitation on his brother’s face.
“It’s an unknown number, hyung.”
“Well, you won’t know whose calling unless you answer your phone.”
Minseok hesitantly pushed the answer button, “Hello?”
“Hello, Minseokkie?”
“Yes? May I know who’s calling please?”
A sigh of relief came from the other line. “Baozi! Don’t you recognize my voice?”
His body froze when the man mentioned his nickname. Only one person calls him ‘Baozi’.
“Zitao?”
“Yes.”
“How did you get my number?” As far as he’s concerned only few people knew his private number. His hyung, Luhan, Yixing
and-
“I asked it from Jongdae. I met him a while ago and he mentioned that you’re back.”
Minseok grumbled. He should’ve known. Jongdae is a bit tactless.
“Minseokkie,” Tao started. “Can we meet today?”
He can hear Tao’s hopeful voice and he knows he can’t say no to the younger. I have a soft spot for this brat.
“Sure. What time would you like us to meet?”
At the Wu Mansion
Kris quietly sipped his tea while watching the beautiful scenery in front of him which is a garden full of flowers that Minseok
loves. He has that longing look when Zitao approached him. He tore his gaze away from the landscape to look at his younger
brother. He noticed that the latter is dressed to go out.
“Going somewhere, Tao?” He asked.
“Yes, Kris ge. I’m meeting Minseokkie today.”
Kris visibly stiffened at what Tao had said. He can feel his chest tightening and a slow boiling of his blood surged his body. He
composed himself and tried to appear as expressionless as possible.
“Really? But why?” he inquired.
“I just want to set things right from now on. We separated in a bad way and I want to apologize to him.”
“Are you sure that that’s the only reason, Tao? Or are you planning something else?”
Tao cracked a small smile and averted his eyes to the same scenery that his big brother was looking a while ago. “I’ll ask him
to take me back.”
Kris abruptly stood up from his seat, clearly surprised and mad at the same time at what the younger man said. “What are you
saying, Tao? What about Seh-“
“I’m going, Kris ge.”
“Yah! Wu Zitao! We’re not done talking.”
“I’ve made up my mind!”
Kris stood rooted on his place, still registering what had happened. After a full five minutes of staring off to space, he regained
his composure and he quickly fished out his phone from his pocket. Dialing the number he knew too well. After the third ring a
man spoke from the other line before he can speak.
“Yifan, it’s time.”
