The thing about fairytales is, no matter how magical they seem, reality will always slap you in the face, dragging you down from that beautiful pink dreamy cloud.

I didn’t realize it at first, but, just like that, my life came crushing down one piece at a time. Things started to change. I would come home to an empty place, I would call him but his phone seemed to be always turned off. And sometime after midnight, I would wake up at the sound of the washing machine, the dishwasher and the shower at the same time. Kris was never the type to worry about the dirty clothes or the piles of unwashed dishes, and he would never bother to lift a finger around the house and certainly not in the middle of the night. His behavior was getting stranger by the time, and doubt kept creeping in on me. Was I the reason of this huge transformation? Did I do something wrong? Or was he trying to proof that he would make a perfect husband? Does that mean that he was willing to take our relationship to the next level? Or more importantly was I ready for that life-altering step?
