It was Sunday morning, and I had to wake up early to meet Tao. Correction: Kris had to drag me out of bed before Tao came to pick me up. Thank God he was there, or else I would’ve slept through the day. I was halfway through the process of getting ready when the doorbell rang, and again, I was thankful Kris wasn’t in any hurry to leave for his trip yet.

_”KRRRIIIIIISSSS, could you please get the door? That’s probably Tao. I’ll be right there.” My voice was echoing throughout the house it was a miracle the neighbors didn’t complain, yet.

-“Sure babe”. Kris responded on his way to the door. I did the best I could to get out of the bathroom and get to the door right away, because Kris and Tao had yet to be introduced. Yikes.

_”Hello, you must be Tao” I could hear Kris say and as I made my last step towards the door I could see Tao coming in, looking as stunning as ever.

_”I am, and you must be Kris.”

They shook hands and stood there, engaged in what seemed to be a very long staring contest. Well, this was getting awkward. I stepped out from behind Kris and smiled to Tao, who was now focused on me.

-“Good Morning” I beamed at my best friend who gave me a bright smile and an unnecessary but welcomed kiss on the cheek.

-“Good morning princess. I see you’re almost ready.” He gave me a knowing look. I had a habit of waking up late and he knew that well.

-“Yeah, almost. Come in. I’ll only take a second.
