Shaken, Not Stirred
Our Little ThingsShe looked around the dimly lit room.
Everyone present were enjoying themselves dancing around, moving their bodies to the beat like black butterflies. Sequins and glitter in various colors from their attires seemed to stand out in the sea of blurred images, like a bokeh picture of lights. In a corner, she could spot her gorgeous yet dorky best friend Im Yoona flirting with a charming man with a hot body wearing a black button-up, and in another she saw her other best friend; the one rich enough to rent the whole nightclub, Lee Jungshin, ing a girl from the acting major. Her name was Choi something, she figured.
It was a typical Saturday night and was the party's host's 22nd birthday. She, being one of his best friends, was invited, of couse, even before everyone else.
She felt out of place with her girly knee-length floral dress. When the tall, skinny man told her to 'dress sweet', she thought he was just throwing a small party with close friends, and she took his words literally. Oh, never had she been so wrong. Then again, she should had known her best friend better; he was a party animal.
She felt tired and nauseous; as opposed to her best friends, she was more of a calm, conservative snowflake. She was the type who seeked the easeness of her mind in reading and relieved stress from listening to piano instrumentals. Call her a grandma, she couldn't care less. It's something she enjoyed. Sometimes, she wondered why did she end up being close with her current besties.
She was a literature major, while the other two belong in the showbiz world, with her female best friend being a quite well-known actress already while the male one had just debuted in his band.
Both her best friends seemed to shine beside her dull looking appearance, but again, she couldn't care less. She loved both of them so dearly, and so did them.
Back to the scene, she was searching for an empty booth or seat, but everything seemed to be occupied by other people minding their business too much to care about their surroundings. She saw the tints of red on their cheeks and concludes that they were all at least slightly tipsy. Red tinted her own cheeks as she looked away.
Jungshin and Yoona must had a lot of connections, she mused as she realised that she didn't even know any of those people. That or maybe her best friends' invitees invited their own friends over to the party.
By then, she felt extreme boredom to the point of irritation; she wanted to go back to the comfort of her bed but the night was still young and she had a hunch that her best friends would do everything, including hand-cuffing her wrist against on
