You and Junhyung went to the hospital.
The doctor was pleased to see him back so soon. “Let’s start right away, shall we?”
You squeezed Junhyung’s hand. Surprisingly, he didn’t let you go.
The doctor began to arrange the treatment. “I suggest you lay off all your schedule and stop singing-“
“Stop singing?” Junhyung sat up, alert. “I thought I could get the treatment and keep singing.”
*That’s what I thought, too.* You thought.
The doctor shook his head, “That would be impossible. You see, the process of treating cancer is very difficult. Radiation and chemotherapy would take all your time and energy. Doing any activities would exhaust you and the treatment would not work. You need to rest as much as you can. Furthermore, after the surgery, for a couple years you shouldn’t be doing anything tedious.”
“It’s not anything tedious. It’s my life.” Junhyung snapped.
“Oppa, calm down.” You whispered. He took a deep breath.
“I’m sorry but that’s the most effective way to get the best out of this treatment.” The doctor shrugged.
Junhyung was silent for a while then dared ask, “If I get the surgery, what are the possibilities of surviving?”
The doctor was quiet this time. Then he put his hands together and spoke, “I’ll be straightforward with you. The possibilities at your rate are…30%.”
