chapter four - Girlfriend

Recap:

“Introduce me to her!” he said

“I’m supposed to meet her today, you can come. I’ll introduce her to you”

“Great!” he clapped his hands

You were waiting at the café where you and Jaejoong usually hang out

You tapped the table with your fingertips

Then the door suddenly opened

You looked over the tables and found Jaejoong with someone you had never met before

They came to you and sat in front of you

“Hey, did you wait long?” Jaejoong asked

“Ani, I just got here” you said, “But who’s…” you glanced at Donghae

“Oh, right. This is my best friend, Lee Donghae” he introduced

Donghae held out his hand and you shook it

“I’m Lee Hyeri” you introduced yourself

“Oh! We have the same surnames!” Donghae exclaimed

You giggled

“Sorry, he’s kinda… hyperactive” Jaejoong bit his lip

Donghae slapped Jaejoong’s head

“Ow!” he winced “Why you!” he slapped Donghae back

You couldn’t help but to laugh

“Stop bickering, you guys. We’re in public” you scolded, jokingly

They finally stopped and both sat back on their chairs

 “So, I heard you’re Jaejoong hyung’s girlfriend” Donghae started

You raised an eyebrow, “Girlfriend…?” you looked at Jaejoong

“Say yes” he mouthed

You rolled your eyes playfully, “Umm… Yes. Yes, I am”

“Oh, so hyung wasn’t lying” he laughed

 “What do you do for a living??” he asked

“I don’t work. But I visit children at the hospital three times a week” you replied

“Whoaa… You’re nice. You’re cute and pretty too!” he exclaimed

Jaejoong rolled his eyes, “Stop flirting with my girl, Donghae”

His girl?  You thought to yourself and chuckled

Then the waiter came, the three of you placed your order and ate

When you finally finished, you wanted to take a walk with them, but unfortunately, Donghae had to go first because of business matters

So, you and Jaejoong decided to walk along the Han River just the two of you

You both sat on the grass near the river

“So, Jaejoong oppa, apparently I’m your girlfriend now?” you asked, crossing your arms

He nervously laughed “Well… that’s… ”

“What exactly did you tell him, oppa?” you asked suspiciously, looking at him

“Umm…” he scratched the back of his head, “I told him that you’re kinda… like… my girlfriend?” he nervously laughed

“Umm... Why?”

“Because… Because…” he tried to find an answer

You became more interested in what he was going to say, you leaned closer and looked straight in his eyes

He felt his heart skip a beat when you looked at him

“Oppa, because…?”

He took a deep breath and let it out, “Because I want you to be” he finally said it

You were taken aback. Your eyes widened as your heart began beating like crazy

“O-Oppa…”

“There, I finally said it…” he said

There was a silence between you two. You both just stared at the waters

“So, do you want to be?” he suddenly asked

You didn’t answer

'Crap. I blew it, huh?' Jaejoong thought to himself

He scratched the back of his head, “It’s okay if you don’t want to, I understand. It’s too sudden, mianhae” he said hurriedly

You turned to face him and smiled “I... would love to be your girlfriend” you said shyly

His eyes rounded, he couldn’t believe what he heard. “Y-you want to be m-my girlfriend?!” he stuttered

You nodded shyly

Jaejoong smiled widely

You turned back to watching the water flow in the river

Then you felt an arm wrapped around your waist

You blushed

“You are now Kim Jaejoong’s girlfriend, Lee Hyeri”
