chapter two - Oppa

Recap:

“Hmmm… Let’s just say I met an angel”

“Angel?”

He nodded “Yeah, an angel”

“So you went to heaven?!”

Jaejoong laughed at the silliness of the kid

“I’d be in heaven if I meet her again”

A week later…

You were sitting on the bench in the hospital garden when suddenly somebody tapped your shoulder

You turned your head but there was no one so you turned to the other side and surprisingly, Jaejoong was already there

“Omo, Jaejoong-ssi!”

“So we meet again, Hyeri-ssi”

“Were you waiting for me?” he asked

“Huh? No. Why would I wait for you?”

He pouted

You laughed “Jaejoong-ssi, exactly how old are you?” you asked

“I’m 23” he answered

“So you’re 23 and you still pout like a little kid. Tsk” you shook your head

“Yah, how old are you anyway?!”

“I’m 20” you replied

“So I’m older than you. You should show me some respect”

“Don’t want to” you stuck out your tongue and laughed

He couldn’t help but to laugh with you

“Want to have lunch with me?” he asked

You thought for it “Hmm… Depends, where are we eating?”

“Where do you want to eat, then?”

“If it’s not fancy, I’d have to decline your offer, Jaejoong-ssi”

“W-what?” he looked surprised

You laughed “I was just joking! I’d love to have lunch with you”

He felt relieved

He stood up and offered his hand

You looked at it then at him with a questioning look

“My hand won’t bite. So just take it”

You shyly grabbed his hand

The two of you went to a small, cozy Italian café

You ordered sandwich and Jaejoong ordered fettuccine

“So, Kim Jaejoong-ssi…” you started “Why did you ask me for lunch?”

He sipped his ice tea and put it down “Why? Hmm… I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I wanted to spend time with you”

You giggled and lightly blushed “We just met once”

“I know, but there’s just something about you that makes me feel… different”

You blushed again

“Hey! I made you blush” he laughed

“Well, you shouldn’t say things like that!”

He finally stopped laughing

“So, what do you do for a living?” he asked

“I don’t work. My mother said I’ve always had a weak body since I was young, that’s why she won’t let me work

“Ohh… I see. Weak body? Do you have a sickness or something?”

You shook your head “No, I don’t, thankfully”

“Good to hear…”

“What about you, Jaejoong-ssi?”

“Well, I’m just a normal businessman” he lied

He wasn’t just a normal businessman, he was the son of the richest company in Korea

“But I’m a painter too” he added

“A painter? Wow, you don’t seem like the artistic type”

“Is that another insult?” he raised his eyebrow

“Let me think… Yes”

Jaejoong laughed, amused by you

Then the order came in and you two ate

“Ahh… This is really great” Jaejoong said as he put down his fork and laid back on the chair

“What is?” you asked, confused

“Just relaxing here, with you. Without any interference whatsoever”

You smiled “Yes, in fact I’m quite enjoying this too, Jaejoong-ssi”

“Please, stop with the honorifics” he chuckled

You looked at him with a questioning look “Then, what should I call you?”

“Call me oppa”

“O-oppa…?”

He nodded “Jaejoong oppa”

“Well, okay, Jaejoong-oppa”

Jaejoong felt butterflies in his stomach
