Hourglass is not just a girl group, they are the best of all girl group. The first girl group with 120 000 official fan girls in Korea, 90 000 official fan girls in Japan, 180 000 official fan girls in China and 60 000 official international fan girls. These were in 2006 and not 2011. And these are only girls, not boys. Can you imagine their numbers of fan boys? You better not. Surpassing Baby V.O.X. and Fin. K.L, and maybe S.E.S. Hourglass popularity has been rising since their debut 2004 and their second album September 2005.

After debuting Rain, JYP Entertainment released a statement about a girl group that will debut in the middle of Mei 2004. Park Jin Young stated in an interview, “I’m not looking for looks, but it seems that they have them all; looks, talents, passions, skills and charms. As I am talking right now, they are practicing hard for their upcoming debut. Everyone, please be ready for this group.”
