Foreword
“Will you be there when I wake up?”
“Of course I will be there. The moment you open your eyes, I’ll be the first person you’ll see.”
“Promise?”
Tiffany smiles at how childish and cute her girlfriend is acting at the moment.
“I promise. Now, are you ready?”
Sooyoung nods her head lightly while giving her girlfriend a determined look.
“I am. See you when I wake up.”
Tiffany squeezes her hands before kissing it.
“See you. Love you Soo.”
“Love you too.”
They gave each other one last loving smile before they both let go of each other. Sooyoung’s bed then was pushed by the nurses who have been taking care of her since yesterday, when she was brought at the hospital. Her parents are also there, supporting her from everything. The big smiles they are wearing give her an assurance that everything’s going to be fine. And she has been holding to that since the beginning of her so called ‘fight’. Few of her closest friends are also present, giving her her much needed support.
Before the door of the operating room close, she took one last look at her family. Her beautiful girlfriend and her friends, they’re all smiling at her. Still she was hoping to see a certain someone so she lifts her head slightly, and that one last effort wasn’t put to waste when her eyes caught the person she had been waiting to see, standing on the corner by herself, fidgeting while biting her lips. She smiles at her when she saw her looked back at her. Even though they’re a few steps away from each other she can see how her eyes filled up with worries. So in order to assure the fidgeting girl, she lifts her right hand and formed an “Ok” sign with her fingers.
The girl smiled and that’s the last thing Sooyoung saw before the door closed completely. She comfortably lied on the bed and smiled at the nurses before closing her eyes.
“Thought you’d never come.” Sooyoung thought to herself.
