Judging System and Other Consideration
Treat Me a Fic!Judging System and Consideration
- I will be honest. I am looking for a story I can enjoy the most. While this may alarm you due to the possible subjectivity (which is inevitable), but my fanficcing experience will (hopefully) let me choose the best story here.
- There are generally 3 things I look for in a good fic: plot, characterization, and writing style. I am certainly not the best out there for grammar and stuffs, but good grammars will add up to the writing style factor.
- I am aware of the lenience in choosing genre may create a chance for you to 'cheat' this contest (e.g. choosing my OTP and writing a tragedy fic so that my OTP perish and your OTP can end up together). While I do love good angst, but I can see which one of you is having an intent to destroy my OTP on purpose, and which is merely having an intent of writing a heartbreaking wonderfully-written angst for my OTP. I undoubtedly do not mind the latter though.
- As you might be aware of, choosing a less popular pairing from my OTP list will probably increase your chance in winning the best story in that particular OTP category.
- Finished/completed stories are prioritized to win the semi-contest. But in a case-per-case basis, I may determine an unfinished story to be better than a completed one. Considerations that I will take into account in evaluating a story:
- Unfinished story may lack points in plot (because plot is something that I will evaluate based on its whole-package thingie), but if the writer is skillful enough, s/he may have impeccable characterizing characters skill and engaging writing style, and I might choose the latter.
- Characterization is something you just need to consistently build. But if you're basing your fic on a non-AU one (for example, the setting is the idols' real life), your analysis/intake on keeping the characters in-characters will be greatly taken into account.
