Kangdae sighed and walked in circles in front of a small cafe. As promised, Sooman had given him and the other 2 time off to go pick the trainees. After the meeting with the Big 3, they had swapped numbers and taken the individual group files, deciding to message each other when they had time about who they would pick.

They had gotten close through the proccess of picking, talking whenever they had the chance and meeting up together, but had only managed to eliminate maybe 1 or 2 of the trainees from the chosen list of 40 (yeah that's a lot, it seems as if YG, SM, and JYP weren't good at picking themselves either).

It's a lot harder than it looks, was their defense.

He took a look at his watch, Sooyeon and Miyoung were supposed to meet him in a couple of minutes. He stood a couple blocks away from the Woollim building, he sighed and tapped his foot.  

"Kangdae!"

He looked up and saw Miyoung happily drag Sooyeon in his direction, an excited smile on her face, and of course, a calm relaxed expression on Sooyeon's.

But by now, he was used to it.

"Hey," he let out a held in breath and waved slightly. "Are you guys ready to go?"

He nodded towards the Woollim building. 

Miyoung nodded, "Yeah sure but first Sooyeon Unnie said we could get a cupcake!" 

Kangdae gave Sooyeon a look, and she couldn't help but shrug, "I had to, that was the only way she would agree to come." 

He facepalmed and shook his head.

Typical Miyoung.

Kangdae took a bite out of his cupcake and wiped the crumbs off his face.

"Okay okay. We all know that this will be the 7th member of the group. Has JYP or YG said anything about our counterparts?"

Even though they were already picked, JYP, SM, and YG had made it a point to keep it a big secret. Apparently not even their counterparts knew, the big 3 were waiting for the other members to be chosen first.

Miyoung shook her head and skipped in front of the other 2, excited to visit Woollim.

"Do you think we'll see Infinite Oppas? Or maybe Tasty??"

Sooyeon sipped her water and finished off her cupcake, it seems as if Miyoung had a weakness for sugar.

"No. They're really enjoying the secret, because JYP won't even drop Miyoung a hint."

Kangdae raised his brow and passed the remainder of his cupcake to Miyoung, trying to keep her entertained so she didn't start complaining about not meeting Infinite Oppas. She took it happily and the older two continued to talk.

"Nothing at all from JYP? Wow. Any clues?"

Sooyeon nodded, "I think I have an idea. He's been a trainee for awhile, but not much is known about him. He's pretty mysterious, and I don't think a lot of people talk to him."

Miyoung turned her head, "Oohh he sounds fun. What about you Oppa? Do you know?"

Kangdae shook his head, "I can't be sure. It could be anyone from SM, since their files aren't in here, I can't really be sure...JYP really hasn't said anything?"

The three turned the corner and reached the Woollim building. Kangdae opened the door and Miyoung groaned, shaking her head as well.

"No idea, but you know JYP is reallyy bad at keeping secrets. He just talks and talks and talks..."

Kangdae rolled his eyes and chuckled, "Really, he sounds like someone I know."

Sooyeon added, "Someone who get's all hyped up on sugar."

"Really?" Miyoung pursed her lips and shrugged, "I don't know anyone like that. Well he's bad at keeping secrets, and he's been keeping his eye on this one trainee in particular..."

She began to slow down, and the two could tell her sugar high was about to crash.

"Oh yeah, and who's that?" 

She sighed and the three reached the front counter, asking the receptionist for their appointment with the CEO. She nodded and the three sat in their chairs, waiting. 

"He's this really really annoying guy I know. His family is apparently really rich, and he doesn't get along with a lot of the trainees. But he's still really talented. He choreographs sometimes for 2pm or Suzy Unnie and yeah..."

She trailed off, getting tired. Kangdae let her rest against his shoulder and he sighed, turning towards Sooyeon.

"I feel like I'm her Appa. In the short time I've known her I think she's turned into my daughter."

Sooyeon laughed and nodded, "Same. She's a lot to handle, I wonder if the others will be like this."

Kangdae shuddered, "One Miyoung I can handle. 7 more? I don't think so."

SM had told Kangdae after the meeting that they planned to make Kangdae one of the two leaders of the group, he would also hold the face position, alongside main rapper and dancer.

YG informed Sooyeon that due to her motherly tendencies she would be the Second Leader, a main vocalist, and main dancer.

JYP had pranced around the room and bragged to both Sooman and YG (who were shaking their heads and sheilding their eyes from their embarrassing friend the entire time), that Miyoung would be a main rapper, lead singer,  maknae, and that "he was so proud of his star trainee, she would be such a cute maknae and rapper".

Sometimes JYP was an embarrassing father, or the weird uncle that everyone avoided during Holidays. The receptionist called the three up and they stood as the CEO greeted them.

"Ah hello. You're the trainees that Sooman, Jinyoung and Hyunseuk sent?"

They nodded and respectfully bowed. Kangdae spoke up on behalf of all of them. If he was going to be leader he better get used to talking.

"Yes sir, we're here to find the other members of our group."

The CEO nodded and held his arm out, "Well I'm very busy I'm sorry to say, but I know someone who knows the trainee's even better than I do."

He smiled and called out to a pair of boys standing in the corner.

"Sungjong, Woohyun, Hoya."

They all turned and Miyoung pulled on her friends arms, squeaking in excitement. It seems like they would meet Infinite after all.

The three followed Hoya, Woohyun, and Sungjong into the practice rooms, getting a tour of Woollim as well.

"We heard that trainees were coming, and I'd be lying if we said we weren't excited." Woohyun turned to Kangdae, "how's Kibum?"

Kangdae smiled and nodded, "He's doing well, he told me to tell you he says hello and that you should both go out soon."

Woohyun nodded and continued to have his conversation with Kangdae, while Sungjong and Hoya held small talk with the girls behind.

"So do you know which of the trainees you're going to pick?" Sungjong titled his head cutely and Sooyeon shook her head, smiling slightly.

"No, we looked at the files but I think we really need to see what they're like in person, not just as sheets of paper and ink."

Hoya nodded, "that's good thinking, spoken like a true leader."

Sooyeon smiled and Miyoung was trying to stay awake, as excited as she was about meeting Infinite, her sugar high was definitely gone now. She sleeply walked behind the older two and rubbed her eyes.

Hoya nudged her and she looked up at him, too tired to do anything else. She had loved Infinite since they debuted, and looked up to them for their amazing synchroniztion skills, but again, the sleep was taking over.

"You okay?"

She nodded and yawned, she shouldn't have eaten all that ice cream before. He laughed and held her shoulder, "If you're that tired and you feel ready to collapse, don't worry, I'll catch you."

She smiled and nodded gratefully, the two trailing right behind the others.

They entered the practice room and found 15 or so trainees doing their own thing, dancing or singing songs, they seemed to be working hard.

Sungjong clapped his hands and everyone turned towards him, greeting him happily. A chourus of 'hey's were heard and the Infinite members waved back. Sungjong spoke loudly through out the practice room.

"Okay guys so I know you heard that we were going to be visited by JYP, SM, and YG trainees right?" 

Murmurs of yes's were heard. Sungjong pointed to the three standing besides Woohyun and Hoya. 

"Well there they are. They're just here to observe, (they HERO thing was mostly a secret to everyone besides the Big 3 and the chosen members) but please do your best!" 

Hoya chimed in, "think of this as an evaluatio-" Miyoung stomped on his foot and smiled innocently. He gave her his "OW WHAT WAS THAT FOR, OH YEAH RIGHT" face, and cleared his throat.

"Think as if you're representing us, we don't want to look bad in front of other companies right? So do your best, all of you."

Kangdae and Woohyun snickered, Miyoung sending Hoya an apologetic look. Woohyun stepped into the center of the room and clapped his hands, turning towards the three. 

"I think something that would be important in groups is synchronizing. Maybe you guys should have dance practice with them to get a feel of what it's like." 

Kangdae and Sooyeon shared a look, that was a good way to narrow the field down, thank you Woohyun. Kangdae nudged Miyoung, "hey are you okay with dancing? I know you're really tired." 

Miyoung nodded and waved him off, skipping besides Woohyun. She strectched her arms back and forth and cheerfully called out to her group mates. 

"I'll dance a bit and then just watch." She nodded, this way she could watch for herself to see who was trying and who wasn't. Hoya stepped up and the stereo, the six moving into the center of the room.

"OKAY," he called out, "We're going to dance a song you all know, and I'm sure that at least one of these three knows it as well. We'll dance it together once to give you time to warm up, and then 3 of you will step up and dance it with them again. Are we clear?"

The trainees nodded and Sooyeon calmly asked, "What song are we dancing exactly?" 

Kangdae was confused as well, were they going to tell them or was it going to be a surprise? Hoya chuckled, "we'll see. It's one of our songs, I hope you know it."

Miyoung sat besides Hoya and Woohyun as Sungjong watched over the trainees and her friends. Sungjong was one strict choreographer, correcting them and making them start over whenever someone made a mistake.

She watched her friends dance to 'The Chaser' for the third time and sighed, picking people was hard. Woohyun gave her a gentle pat on her head and gentle words of encouragement.

"Still no one? Don't worry, you'll find someone soon."

She shook her head, "I mean, don't get me wrong, everyone is synchronizing, you taught them well."

The song finished and her friends turned to look at her, shaking their heads and gasping for air. Kangdae gave her a, "you're so lucky" look and she laughed, being the maknae was nice.

"I just think there's something missing. Like there's this...certain...passion that's not there. They don't click. You get what I mean?"

Hoya nodded and leaned back, crossing his arms. The third batch of trainees came up. He snapped his fingers as he watched the trainees around the room, trying to help his future label mates in anyway hecould. He brightened and focused his attention on the trainee to thee left, the perfect person he had in mind.

"Miyoung dongsaeng, I think I know someone who would work well with you."

Miyoung tilted her head and continued to watch Sooyeon and Kangdae, how were they not completely pooped by now? Hoya pointed to a girl sitting in the corner, she had yet to go up yet and she looked kind of nervous.

"That's Chanlim. She's worked hard to get where she is today, and she's probably one of the best canidates for this group. She's really special, and really kind," Woohyun said. Hoya nodded in agreement, "A lot of people take advantage of her kindness, but she truly is a sweet girl. One of the hardest working here. Not to mention talented."

Miyoung watched the girl, she looked a lot more nervous now. Miyoung crawled over to the other side of the room to where she was sitting, there was only a minute and a half left of the song before it was her turn.

Miyoung plopped down next to her, "Are you okay? You look nervous.."

The girl slightly smiled and took a deep breath, trying to focus. She felt scared, even though Infinite Oppas told her that it was just a regular practice, she still wanted to give it her all.

"I'm okay. Just sort of worried I guess."

Miyoung nudged her and smiled, giving her a thumbs up.

"Just do your best, I heard you're really good. Show us all you got kay?" 

She smiled a bit wider and chuckled, "Yeah, I'll try. I don't think I'm that good, but Hoya and Dongwoo Oppa seem to say otherwise..." 

Miyoung patted her arm and tried encouraging her, "well if they say you're good, then I'm sure it's true!" 

Chanlim smiled appreciatively, "Thank you, that means a lot. What was your name again? I'm Ahn Chanlim." 

"Miyoung," she cheerfully quipped, before turning back her attention to her friends. 

"What do you think of them?" She nodded towards the now tired Leaders, and Chanlim smiled. 

"They seem really nice, and they're good dancers. I'm sure dancing with them will be fun." 

Miyoung nodded, satisfied with the answer. Sooyeon turned to look at her and she mouthed, 'I like this girl.' Sooyeon nodded and gave a thumbs up, she would look out for her. Sooyeon nudged Kangdae and said, "Miyoung says she's a good fit." 

She turned her head in Chanlim's direction. Kangdae nodded and watched her, "What do you think?" 

Sooyeon watched as Miyoung and her talked, "They get along well so that's good. She looks as if she has potential. Let's see how well she dances."

The girl nodded and stood up as Sungjong let the other trainees rest, she was up. Miyoung watched as her friends waved at the girl, trying to get to know each other in the small time they had, they needed to choose someone eventually. Miyoung smiled, they seemed to be getting a long, and soon they started dancing, Miyoung playing close attention to her friends.

But she couldn't help but get distracted by that girl Hoya was talking about earlier. He wasn't lying when he said she was really special. She danced The Chaser just as well as a member of Infinite would, and seeing her dance next to her two close friends, she could see the 4 of them dancing alongside each other on stage.

She bit her lip asHoya slid next to her, pointing to the girl.

"What do you think?"

Miyoung smiled and called for Sungjong to cut the song. The maknae complied and soon Kangdae and Sooyeon were walking over to their freind, tired and out of breath. Kangdae leaned on Miyoung, earning a "EWWW OPPA YOU STINK." 

Kangdae rolled his eyes and pulled her closer before Miyoung ignored him and continued what she was going to say before.

"Unnie Unnie I think I know- wow Kangdae you really stink." She wrinkled her nose, "Anyways I think I know which member we should choose." 

Sooyeon nodded to the girl and smiled. 

"Perfect idea Miyoung." 

She turned to Sungjong and Hoya. 

"What's her name? She would be a nice addition to the group. I remember reading her file, it said she was hardworking, and really kind."

Woohyun smiled, "That's Chanlim. Are you sure it's her?" 

Kangdae nodded and looked at the girl who Miyoung was know running to. Miyoung handed her phone over and Kangdae saw the girl input her number. As he continued to look at the two, he said, "Yes. If Sooyeon is sure, then this is all we need. From the small break that Sungjong allowed us," he glared at the maknae, "She seems like a good person. But don't tell her that we picked her yet. We'll tell her once we pick everyone else."

Everyone nodded and watched Miyoung and Chanlim chat about something or other, Sooyeon soon walking over and joining the conversation. 

One down, three to go.

I wrote another thing~ At 4 a.m. hahaha I should be asleep T____T this update is supperrr longgg but the next teasers may be shorter...I rambled a lot here, sorry guise XD
