“no mom we’re not discussing this again!” kris said as he threw himself on the couch and the T.V

“I don’t know why you are so stubborn about this , kris” his mom followed him , not wanting to let the matter slip

“Mom ! you’re setting me up with your friend’s sons ! it’s just .. weird!”

“no it’s not ! the weird thing is that you are 22 and you don’t have a boyfriend , when was the last time you had a boyfriend?” his mother argued

Kris silently regretted telling his mother that he was gay 5 years ago , if only he knew his mother would try desperately to set him up with any living male .

Kris sighed and decided to give in to his mother’s wish

“okey , who do you want me to go out with?”

“aww , that’s my boy , so here , I I talked with Eunji and you’ll be having lunch with her son tomorrow , his name is yixing and he has that cute little dimple that you’ll just love”

“wow , you even set everything up before I agreed “ kris said flatly

“I know my krissy won’t say no to mama” she pinched his cheeks

“Ouch , that hurts mom , and don’t call me krissy” he rubbed his cheeks furiously

“okey , kiki , I’ll go call Eunji to check “ she walked happily to her bedroom

“oh my god , KIKI IS WORSE” he yelled after his mother

Next day at 3 o’clock , kris was dressed up , wearing a simple shirt with a random design and black pair of skinny jeans after another severe argument with his mother because she wanted him to wear a suit .

Kris entered the restaurant , searching for the boy his mother told him wore a black shirt with blue and red lines

He found the boy sitting on the farthest table , drinking water slowly , kris approached him

“Hey , Yixing right? He smiled

The boy nodded  and kris took a seat in front of him

“you’re .. umm .. your name is .. umm” the boy tried to remember the name

“my name is-“

“WAIT NO , I’ll remember , it begins with ,, umm , can you tell me the first letter ? just the first”

Kris scratched his head in both confusion and embarrassment , his date doesn’t remember his name

Nice start

“it’s k “ he told Yixing

“oh , Kevin?” he said smiling , showing his dimples , at least they are cute like his mother said

“no,, it’s k-” kris nearly face palmed
“NO wait , Keith?” he said hopefully

Kris shook his head

“then ken?”

“no it’s k-“

“kate?”

“that’s a girl’s name”

“oh , sorry , Karen?”

“that’s also a   girl’s name”

“okey I give up , I don’t remember” The boy sighed in defeat

“it’s kris , k-r-i-s” kris said , even spelling his name , just in case

He hardly got home , his mother ran happily to him

“Come on , Details , details”

“okey , first he forgot my name”

“oh , eunji told me he’s a little forgetful sometimes” his mother avoided eye contact with kris

“a little ? A LITTLE? He ordered spaghetti and when the waiter brought the orders , he insisted that he ordered lasagn! The waiter went back with the spaghetti and got the lasagne instead , but Yixing scolded him for being late with food , and for bringing him lasagne instead of the sushi he ordered , Sushi! In an ITALIAN restaurant .. that’s impressive mother , really” he face palmed remembering the disastrous date he just had .

“I told eunji to make him write all things in a note on his cellphone “ she muttered under her breathe but kris heard it anyway

“so number one of the list is scratched , we’ll move to number two then , Luhan , You’ll absolutely like him , he has that doe eyes and .. he’s just so cuteeeeeeeee” his mom nearly fangirled on the said boy , clasping her hands together and all
“what? Another one ?! no I’m definitely not going!” he said , eyes wide
“why? You said you’d go on the dates I set for you !” his mother said , pouting a little
“I only agreed on one date ! and stop pouting , it’s not cute at all” he said , annoyed
his mother pouted more “come on krissy , it’ll be fun , pleaaaaaaaase , please please please please pleaaase” she said , giving him puppy eyes

“oh my god , okey I’ll go , just stop doing this”
“that’s my krissy “

Kris rolled his eyes , he knew it would be in vain to argue , he’ll just go with it , some dates wouldn’t hurt , right? And maybe , just maybe , he’ll find someone he would like , not that he will ever admit it to his mother
