“Ready?” He looked at you, his hand ready to open the door.

“Ready.” You whispered. He opened the door and his mother came to view. She had glued her eyed to the television, making her oblivious about your presence.

“Umma, someone is here to meet you.” Ricky finally said. Flapping her hands, she snapped, “Can’t you see my favourite drama is on?” Ricky sighed and face-palmed himself before pulling both of you behind her. “I guess you really don’t want to see Shin Shin?” Ricky snickered.

“No I don’t – wait did you just say Shin Shin?” she sat on the sofa, mouth hanging agape. She turned and immediately squealed slash cheered when she saw you.

“OMO, you both can marry!” She shrieked.  You and Ricky looked at each other and finally told her what you both wanted to clarify.

“I was just kidding, pumpkins. Now, I really miss you Shin Shin. Oh, and your mother, how is she?” she asked. “My mother is okay I guess? Do you want to chat with her over the phone?” You replied. She nodded and you handed your phone over to her. Soon, the two best friends chatted for very long and the two other bestfriends decided to go to Ricky’s room.

You fell on his bed and pretended to snore. Ricky poked your ribs, causing you to jump and making his bed creak like crazy.

“ That went well.” You nodded and lay back. Silence filled the room, but it was not the awkward silence, but more of a peaceful type of silence.

Ricky had his nightlight which has stars carved out. The stars on the ceiling from nightlight would be nicer if there was no other source of light.
