You were late for school. And when you came to school, it was deadly silent. No one was around. Just the cleaners and the security guard. You decided to go to the office. And when you reached there, you saw no one. You got more anxious and you fished out your phone. You called Lay and luckily, he answered.

“Yes? We are in the auditorium. The rest of the levels are on other venues. Quick, the programme is starting soon.”

You ran as fast as you can and when you reached the venue, you almost skidded and hit the door. Angrily, you slammed the door open. A gush of cold air blew on your face. Everyone was staring at you. You scanned the place to search for familiar faces. Lay. He was pointing to a seat beside him. You ran up and plopped down the uncomfortable seat. Lay, worrisome, asked why you were late.

“Its something personal. Do you need to be a busybody? Not only was I late for school, I didn’t get the news at all,” you snapped.

He fidgeted and looked away to leave you alone.

His heart, was secretly breaking, cracking, peeling and crumbling to dust.
