Sunggyu's POV:

 

"Mommy! Mommy! It's time to wake up!"

I open up my eyes to the blinding light and to his loud voice which I can't help but love. The boy jumped into my arms and I wrapped my arms around him. He laughed against my chest. I laughed along with him and I opened my arms to let him go. He kissed my lips and giggled happily.

"Mommy, you have to wake up now or else we are going to be late!"

I got out of bed as he pulled on my arm. I let him take me to the bathroom. He handed me both our toothbrushes telling me to put the toothpaste on hem. I handed his Pororo toothbrush and brushed my teeth with mine. We both finished brushing our teeth and I lifted him up into my arms.

Today was a new day because this was the first day of living in our new apartment. We moved here because it was closer to my son's daycare. I used to have to drive 30 minutes from work but now it's only 15. I told myself that every minute matters so I decided for us to move closer. Our home and my work place are only 15 mintues apart from his daycare.

When I got to his room, I set him down on his bed, and looked through his drawers. The weatherman said today was going to be sunny so I picked out blue khakis and a green and white polo shirt. I held them in front of him.

"So, what do you think, Hyunsung?" He nodded his head at me and I smiled back.

I helped him take off his pyjamas, which were Pororo as well. He loves Pororo and sometimes will ask me why my eyes aren't the size of the penguin. I just tell him that I have special eyes and then he would go on wishing that he had my eyes.

After puting on his clothes, I go to my room and pick out to wear for the first day of work. The reason why it's the first day is because I had to get a new job in order to move closer to Hyunsung's daycare. A week ago was my interview and I remember how I was the first person too. There were only three other applicants including myself.

 

FLASHBACK

 

"Would Kim Sunggyu please enter?"

I follow the lady into the room and sit in the chair that was across from them. There were five people in total. I didn't know who they were, but I knew one thing: this place is one of the top entertainment companies in Seoul. The company is called Nuclear Entertainment known for the idols they produce.

"Mr. Kim, why is the reason you wish to work here?" I straightened myself in the chair and smiled softly.

"The reason why is becasue I wish to be closer to my son. He is four years old and his daycare is close to here." The person nodded at me, but I wasn't finished. 

"But that isn't the only reason. I was a secretary at business company but I feel like I would do well as the assistant to the CEO of Nuclear Entertainment. I have some background about music as well. Whatever may be given to me, I will do my best at it."

All of them nodded their heads and whispered to each other. But the person in the middle kept on staring at me. I felt myself cringe at his eyes but when I looked more closely, there weren't any emotions to them. For some reason, I felt like he was...how do I say it? More important than those other four that are next to him.

The one on the far right looked at me and smiled. "Mr.Kim thank you for visiting us. We will contact you by phone whether or not you got the position."

I stood up and bowed to them. "Thank you very much for the opportunity."

I got out of the building and let out the breath of air I didn't realize I was holding. But when I stepped out I couldn't help but smile because it was a sunny day. Also I just felt good about the interivew.

Two days later I received a call from them saying I got the job. That night I celebrated with Hyunsung at McDonalds. When I told him I got the job he said he wanted to celebrate at McDonalds so we went. Then we got ice cream after that.

But I couldn't help but smile as I watched him fall asleep in the back of the car with a smile on his face

 

FLASHBACK ENDS

 

"Mommy? What are you thinking about?" I look down at Hyunsung who was holding onto his backpack. I patted his head and smiled.

"Its nothing. And hey, didn't I tell you to call me daddy?"

Hyunsung giggled at me and ran out of my room. I just shook my head as I took out a blue button up shirt, black pants, and black socks along with shoes. I put them on and head out of my room. Hyunsung had already fixed himself breakfast which was cereal with milk. There was another bowl for me too but there little puddles of spilt milk.

I sat down next to Hyunsung and patted his head. "Thank you, Hyunsung-ah."

He smiled at me and went back to eating his cereal. I ate mine too even though it was a bit sweet since it was kids cereal. But hey, since he prepared it for me I couldn't help but eat it too.

"Mommy, are you ready for your first day of work?" I nod my head with a smile.

"Yes I am! But I'm a bit nervous too."

"Don't worry! I'm going to give you a lucky charm. Wait here!"

I watched him as he went to his bedroom and took a Pororo keychain out. But it wasn't Pororo but the fox character from the show. I bent down and took it from him. I put it on my key chain and smiled at him. Hyunsung jumped into my arms and I felt him laugh against me.

"Thank you. I'm feeling even better now."

We finished eating our cereal so I packed the necessities into Hyunsung's backpack and put it on him. I gathered my stuff too and headed out the door holding onto Hyunsung's hand. The car was in the indoor parking so we had to go there to get to the car. I put him in the back and strapped the seatbelt on him. Then I got into the driver's seat and headed off.

"Mommy, are we going to the daycare now? Are we going to go see Uncle Sungyeol?!" I looked at the rearview mirror. He was jumping in his seat making me laugh.

"Yes we are going to see Uncle Sungyeol."

"Yay! He said that a new friend is going to join us today! I can't wait!"

I chuckle at him and drove to the daycare. It was only a fifteen minute drive and once I open the door for Hyunsung, he jumped out and ran to the Sungyeol.

"Uncle Sungyeol!"

"Hyunsung-ah!"

Hyunsung-ah jumped into Sungyeol's arms as the other spun him around. I ran over to them feeling a bit breathless, but I took a few breaths to make me less...breathless? Sungyeol put down Hyunsung and he ran back to me hugging me. I wrap my arms around him and lifted him up.

"Hyunsung, be good for Sungyeol, okay? Don't cause any trouble for him."

"Sunggyu-hyung, don't worry. Hyunsung is very good kid especially to the other kids." He took Hyunsung from my arms into his. "Hyunsung-ah, is going to play with our new friend that is coming today right?"

"Yep! He and I are going to be best friends." I looked at my watch and saw that I have about 30 minutes left until I started.

"Sungyeol, Hyunsung, I have to go now! I will pick you up after work, okay?"

"Okay mommy! I will see you later! Be a good kid at work!"

I kiss Hyunsung on the cheek. "I will be a very good kid at work." I waved at them and entered the car. Before I drove off, I saw a guy who looked a few years younger than me. He was sporting shades and was wearing all black and he was holding onto a kid's hand.

I wonder if he is the new kid that is attending Hyunsung's daycare? If so... Is that the dad? It couldn't be right? He looks too young. But hey look at yourself. You are 26 years old with a child...

I sighed at the thought as I drove off to work. I couldn't afford to be late so I kind of sped there. Good thing I wasn't caught by the police or else I would have been very late. Then I probably would lose my job which I definitely do not want to happen.

The drive there took me about ten minutes when it should take me fifteen, but I sped...so yeah! Anyways, I parked my car in the employee section and headed inside. I was given a car so I could easily enter and leave without having to check in. One of the guys came over and I recognized as one of the people who were part of the interview.

"Hello, Sunggyu-sshi, my name is Lee Howon. But you may call me Hoya. I would prefer that." He held out his hand in front of me which I took.

"It's nice to meet you Hoya-sshi. So...where do I start?"

We let go of each other as he motioned me to follow him. He takes me inside the elevator and presses the up button. It was silent between the two of us and I couldn't help but feel a bit awkward. Neither of us said anything until the doors of the elevator opened revealing a group of twelve guys. They just nodded at us and didn't get on.

"We'll just get on the next one." One of the guys said.

The doors closed again and Hoya-sshi turned to me. "Those twelve guys are a group called EXO. They just had their comeback." I nod my head along taking in the information.

When the doors opened again, Hoya stepped out and I quickly got out with him too. I continued to follow him until we got to these glass doors. He opened the doors and I followed him inside the room. There were pictures of many idols on the walls, awards, and certificates. I looked at them in awe as I walked deeper inside the room.

"Woohyun-hyung, he is here."

The said guy turned around and my eyes widened seeing who the person was. It was the same guy from the interview. The one who was staring right at me. The one who eyes held no emotions.

I quickly bowed to him and introduced myself.

"Hello, Mr. Nam. I'm Kim Sunggyu. Thank you for letting me work here as your assistant."

I looked up at him and made eye contact with him. I felt myself crumble a little bit but held myself together. To make myself look good I straightened myself out and flashed an honest smile. Then in a flash he turned towards Hoya-sshi.

"Hoya, you can leave now. I have to talk to my assistant." Hoya-sshi left leaving him and me alone...in this really big room. Woohyun-sshi got up and walked over to me. Then he took my chin into his hand and pulled my head back and forth. It was like he was checking me out...but weirdly.

"M-Mr.Nam, may I ask what are you doing?"

He let go of my chin and sat back down. Then he pointed to a desk that was on the side. It was a bit smaller than his but it would do. I walked over and sat in the chair fiddling with my fingers. I didn't know what to do but all of a sudden there were a stack of papers on my desk. I looked through of them and saw they were profiles of boys and girls.

"Mr. Nam, what should I do with these?" He looked at me and sighed.

"I need you to call them and tell them they didn't pass the auditions. The ones who a red 'x' are the ones who didn't pass so call them. Also tell them to not audition here again since it would probably be the same result."

Not audition here again? Isn't that bit...harsh? It's like telling them to never audition again. This Nam Woohyun is a bit of a jerk. But what can I do? I work for him.

"Alright. I will call them."

"Good. But don't call them here. There is a meeting room. My secretary will show you."

He pointed me out the door so I left with the stack of paper. The secretary showed me to the meeting room and gave me the phone to use. I smiled at the secretary thanking her and she smiled back.

"Sorry if Mr. Nam is like that. He is usually like that with new people. And it's okay if you don't tell those group of people of not auditioning here again. Just tell them they didn't pass."

"Alright I will. Thank you..."

"Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you my name. I'm Park Joohyun. It's nice to meet you Sunggyu-sshi." She held out her hand for me to take.

"It's nice to meet you too. Lets get along." I shake her hand as she leaves me in this room.

I was looking through the stack of papers when I saw someone familiar pass by. I looked up and saw the same guy at the daycare center. This time he didn't have the sunglasses and was wearing more bright colors. Also his hair was styled too.

"It seems like he must be some sort of idol..."

"Oh, are you talking about L?"

I jump in my seat making my arm hit the stack of papers causing them to fall to the floor. I sighed and bent down to pick them up. The other person didn't bother to help me and I mentally scolded at them sicne it wouldn't be respectful to say it out loud.

"Hey, stop fooling around. It's your first day and I don't like my employees to be like this." I look up to see Woohyun-sshi staring right down at me. I get up immediately but I didn't realize where my head because it smashed right into his nose.

"! That hurted!" I heard stumble a few feet and saw droplets of blood on the floor. My eyes widened as I got tissues that was only a few feet away. I pulled away his hand that was covered in blood and quickly dabbed his nose with the tissues.

"I-I'm sorry Mr. Nam! I'm very sorry!"

I was feeling a bit sick at seeing the blood but held it back. I placed Woohyun-sshi on the chair and got more tissues. I pulled a chair next to him and tilt his head backwards.

"Mr. Nam, could you stay still like this?"

"It's not like I have anything better to do." I smiled guiltily. I ran out of the room and made my way around looking for the canteen. There were signs that helped me so when I found it, I opened the fridge and saw an ice pack.

I grabbed it not caring who it belonged to and ran back to the meeting room. He was still sitting there with his head tilted back so I slowly entered and sat back down. Then I pulled his hands down and saw that his nose had stopped bleeding. I handed over the ice pack which he grabbed from me.

"I'm very sorry Mr. Nam! I will make sure it never happens again!" I heard him sigh.

"Just don't get near to me. I feel like you are just an accident waiting to happen." He stood up. "And you better have finish those phone calls before lunch." I just nod my head not making eye contact with him.

He left and I let out my breath that I didn't realize I was holding in. My heart was beating erratically. I placed my hand over it and took slow breaths in and out. After I calmed down I went back to the stack of papers and saw that a few of them had droplets of blood on them. I facepalmed myself.

Great job Sunggyu. Your first day and you happened to give your boss a bloody nose.

I finished the last call and slumpped in my chair. From the range of calls it was from call to them crying and yelling at me. I ran my hand through my hair and sighed for what seemed like the thousandth time.

"It seems like you finished your first task from the boss?" I look to see Hoya-sshi leaning against the wall smiling at me.

"Also, I heard you gave him a bloody nose. NIce for the first day." I groaned in frustration.

"Please, don't remind me of that. I truly didn't mean to give him a bloody nose."

"Don't worry. I'm pretty sure he isn't mad. His mood is probably spoiled but I'm sure he will forget it after tomorrow. Now how about we go get something to eat? Woohyun-hyun usually goes out to eat for lunch."

I nod my head. "Um, Hoya-sshi, do you know Mr. Nam well? Because you call him hyung."

We walk out of the room together with me holding onto the papers. Then we walk to Woohyun-sshi's office and saw that he wasn't in there. I place the papers in a drawer of my desk.

"Yeah, I have known him since we were little. I've also known L too." I look up at Hoya-sshi with a questioning face.

"L? Who is he?" 

"You don't know him?" He got closer to me. "L is like one of our top models and rookie actor too. He just go a role in a drama. Are you sure you have never heard or seen him before?"

I shake my head. I close the drawer and head to the glass doors. "I don't really keep up with those kind of news." We walk together to go outside, but then Woohyun-sshi walked over. He stepped in front of us with his arms crossed.

"Sunggyu-sshi, you are going to buy me lunch for giving me a bloody nose." And then everyone's eyes turned to the three of us. I lowered my head in embarrassment and reluctantly nodded my head.

"Okay. I will pay for you then."

"Good. Lets go Hoya and you too, Sunggyu-sshi. I have a meeting later and I can't afford to be late because of you."

Hoya-sshi turned back to me with an apologetic look. I just shake my head and followed the two of them to wherever we were going to have lunch. I just stuck my tongue at Woohyun-sshi as he turned his back to me.

When we got to the place, it was a quiet and small café. The owner looked at us with a smile and Hoya-sshi led us to  a table way in the corner. One of the waiters came up to us and placed three cups of water. I looked up and saw that the waiter was actually a waitress and was staring straight at Woohyun-sshi. I rolled my eyes seeing how love struck she was.

I wouldn't even waste my time on him.

"So what would you three like?"

I haven't been here before so I didn't know what to get. I was looking through the menu by the time when the two of them were already ordering. There was something on the menu so I just chose a random one. Right when I was about to order, Woohyun-sshi had already ordered for me.

"I would like fettuccine alfredo. Actually make that two."

"And I would have the same too so make that three." Hoya-sshi had said to the waitress.

"Also make sure the bill go towards him. He is paying for today."

I opened my mouth to say something but immedatiely closed it as he shot me a glare. We handed our menus to her as she left. The conversation only carried between the two of them, but I didn't mind. I had received a picture message from Sungyeol. It was of Hyunsung and supposedly new kid. I couldn't help but smile at how cute the two of them were together. Hyunsung was holding onto the new kid's hand and doing a peace sign with the other. Then there was he new kid who was shyly making a peace sign too.

"Sunggyu-sshi, what are you smiling at?"

I look up from the picture and they were staring straight at me. Hoya-sshi was chuckling at me while Woohyun-sshi was...well just plain staring. I just smiled my eye smile at them but for some reason it made Woohyun-sshi turn his head away. I was about to say something but the waitress brought us our food and we began to eat.

After work....

 

I stretched my body out and yawned at the tiring day. I said my quick goodbye to Woohyun-sshi and ran out of the building. Then I got into the car and drove to the daycare center where Hyunsung was waiting for me.

When I got there, he was already waiting there for me with another kid. I got out of the car and walked to them smiling at how they were playing with each other. The kid that Hyunsung was playing with was the kid from the picture.

So he must be the new kid... He is so cute!

"Hyunsung-ah! I'm here!" I open my arms and he came running to me.

"Mommy, I've become best friends with the new kid! His name is Sooyeol!" He jumped out of my arms and ran back to the kid. Then he brought over the shy kid.

"Sooyeol, this is my mommy even though he is a boy like us. Isn't my mommy beautiful?"

I blush at the comment. I turned towards Sooyeol and held out my hand. "Hi Sooyeol-ah, I'm Hyunsung's...mommy."

Sooyeol shook my index finger while looking down. I couldn't help but squeal mentally at how shy and cute this kid was. Then my eyes widened when Hyunsung kissed Sooyeol on the cheek. This made the latter turn beet red and I almost fainted at the adorableness.

"Sooyeol! Mommy is here!" He let go of my hand and ran over to his mom. I grabbed onto Hyunsung's hand and walked over to them. I bowed to her and smiled.

"Hello Sooyeol's mother. I'm Hyunsung's parent. My son really likes your son."

She looked at Sooyeol and back at Hyunsung. Then she leaned down and smiled at Hyunsung. I couldn't help but feel warmth at her smile. It reminded me of my mom's smile.

"Thank you Hyunsung-ah for being friends with Sooyeol. We will see you tomorrow, okay? Sooyeol say bye bye to them."

"B-Bye bye." I waved bye to him while my son yelled out at him.

"BYE BYE SOO! I WILL SEE YOU TOMORROW!"

Her and I couldn't help but laugh at Hyunsung. We said our byes to each other and went out separate ways. I put Hyunsung in the back and got into the driver's seat. I started to the car and drove home. I looked back and saw that Hyunsung had fallen asleep.

When we got home, I carried him up to our apartment, and he woke up when I set him down. He looked up at me with a smile that I love very much. He opened his arms motioning me that he wanted me to hug him. And so I did.

He wrapped his arms around my neck pecked my cheek. Then I felt him nuzzle his face against my neck. I kiss the side of his head and patted his hair.

"Mommy, were you a good kid today?" I laughed and smiled.

"Yes, mommy was a good kid today. Were you a good kid today?"

There was no response so I pulled away to see him peacefully sleeping. I smiled at the sight so I laid him on his bed and pulled the blankets over him. Then I shut off the lights and left the room leaving a crack open.
