There are reasons why I didn’t use Korean history for this fic. One because I don’t know a single thing about it (their culture, dynasties, clothes), and yes I am that lazy enough to do some research. Two because Yoona looks absolutely gorgeous in mid-1700 Victorian gowns. Three because I know all of the readers grew up in fairytales with Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, and we know how that has been influenced so much with the culture of Europe; thus the existence also of witchcraft and wizardry (Harry Potter grew up in London).  That is where my fanfiction comes in. The background of the story is made up. I wrote Someone Other than Me this way, so that readers can relate and remember what fairytales were like.

The story took me eleven months and more (but not yet a year so phew). It contains twenty chapters excluding the prologue, and the setting is within a span of one month (more or less) only. I wanted to show how people can actually love a complete stranger, even without believing in fate or destiny, because loving, according to Princess Yoona, is a choice and when your heart chose to do so, there’s no stopping it.
