Mouth

Sehun had always believed that words have power.

“Okay Sehun,” Sehun heaves a deep breath, tucking stubborn strands of bangs into their rightful place. “You’re going to get a job, Sehun. You’re the prettiest little thing alive, Sehun. You can dance, you can jive and you’re going to be late in your job interview if you don’t get the off your face in the mirror within thirty seconds,” he turns away from the mirror and slings his backpack over his left shoulder. With a sigh, he gives the mirror behind him one final glance and mouths, “Sehun.”

And then he’s out of the house with nothing but an empty backpack and his so-called power that is his words.

“You’re still going to land a job even though you’re practically an hour late, Sehun,” Sehun chants again, earning a dirty look from an old woman crossing the street beside him. He ignores her. “Because you’re ing gorgeous and there’s always a place for gorgeous people, yes,”

And true enough, after another thirty minutes of waiting for a bus that will take him to his job interview, an old man gives ‘the poor little thing you shouldn’t be standing’ his seat. It was the aisle and Sehun never likes aisles. But realizing that his seat had just been donated which means his feet may either bear to get stomped on, or bear standing in the moving vehicle, which will pretty much give his feet the same fate, he settles on the seat and immediately questions his judgement. No, cross that, he doesn’t question his judgement, he thanks his judgement. Because right there, sharing the very seat with him, is the angel who fell with him from the heaven, his other half, the heart of his existence –

“Jesus -ing Christ you’re more beautiful than I am.”

He takes another blunt look at the man’s luscious, juicy lips; his high cheekbones that might as well had been carved by Michelangelo’s hands; and his skin, oh his lustrous sun-kissed skin that would create a perfect creamed coffee mix when combined with his pale one; all of it, a sight to behold, he’s a piece of art, a treasure, he’s –

“You’re extraterrestrial.”

Normally, this kind of behaviour elicits either a crept out response from his victims, or an equally humiliating answer to flatly point out Sehun’s stupidity. But today, Sehun doesn’t get any, and he’s beginning to think he’s developing some kind of brain-to-mouth filter because it seems like he’s the only one who heard the praises that just escaped his mouth. He tries again.

“Hi. I just said you’re gorgeous.”

Still no answer.

The man closes his eyes and Sehun takes that as a cue to move his face closer. He discovers the big confession in the form of blue beats with blasting music even HD channels’ sound cannot compare.

He moves just a teeny bit closer towards the man’s ear.
