How to Win A Guy in 10 Days
Description
Yeah, it's another one of those "typical" high-school SuYin stories. Just with your pinch of drama, crazy twists, crazy characters that you want to shoot, and your crazy author who will leave you hanging at the edge of your seat.
Yeah. Just another typical story.
Foreword
When people ask you and your boyfriend how you got together...
The usual answer is,
"Blind date."
"Love at first sight."
"Classmates."
"We were childhood friends."
And my answer?
"We got together through a bet."
What do you do when you have to win someone's heart and break it the next day?
Well, my brother and I made a bet, and the bet was to --
Ring ring.
"Yobeseyo(hello)?" I said with a bitter tone. I don't like people interrupting me talking to myself.
"Yah, Ri In! Is that how you talk to your oppa(brother)?"
"Sorry Yunho-oppa! What's up?" I took my nail filer and began filing my nails.
Shoot. Broke a nail.
"Tell Jaejoong that I'm bringing the guys over. He won't answer his phone."
The guys. That would be my brother, Changmin, Junsu, Yoochun, and Jaejoong.
"Okay oppa, bye bye!"
*Click* I shut the phone.
I yelled to Jaejoong.
"Jaejoong!"
No reply.
"Joongie-oppa!"
He loves it when I call him that. It gives him this strange sense of pride of being an older brother. I only have one real brother, that being Yunho.
"...YES?" A tiny voice came from afar.
"Yunho is bringing everyone over! OH, and why didn't you answer your phone when he called you?"
"I DROPPED IT DOWN THE TOILET!"
Dork.
Wait, did I mention he was my best friend? Aish, who cares.
"Isn't this your third phone this month?" I questioned him, not really caring what the answer was.
"Yeah, but it's okay! I got this one for only 600 dollars."
Spoiled brat. Haha, just kidding. Everyone is act--
Ring ring.
Yet again with the interruptions...
"WHAT NOW?" I yelled as soon as I answered my phone, not looking at the caller ID. I probably should have.
"Is that how you speak to your father?" He responded seriously.
"Sorry appa!" Watch, now he's going to tell me he's leaving the country for a few weeks.
"I'm going to Japan for some business, sweetie."
"Okay appa, bye! Have a good trip!"
*Click*
Now where was I? Oh yeah! The bet. The bet was to --
Ding dong.
Are you kidding me?
"What!" I yelled, ing the door open. It was Boa, Kwon Boa. She's a dancer which apparently automatically makes her the "queenka" of the school. She's no better than me. I don't like this girl.
"Is Junsu here yet?" Oh, did I mention that she's also Junsu's girlfriend? I think he must be blind to date her.
"Not yet!" I slammed the door in her face.
Ding dong.
"I TOLD YOU, HE'S NOT -- SEUL GI!! Sorry, I thought you were Boa." She smiled at me sweetly. Seul Gi. She's Yunho's girlfriend, who's practically my own sister... or soon-to-be, anyway.
"Yah! Why do you let Seul Gi come in and not me?" BoA asked, while poking her head behind Seul Gi's shoulder.
"Because I like her better!" I answered harshly. She pushed between Seul Gi and me and made herself comfortable on the couch.
Anyway...
The bet was to win Junsu's heart in a matter of ten days and lose it the next. Why would my oh-so-innocent brother make this bet? Apparently, he wants me to learn from the famous Kim Junsu about true commitment. And then he wants me to leave Junsu because he's not good enough for me.
Stupid, I know.
The stakes: If I win, I could date any guy I want, for as long as I want. If I lose, I can't date a guy until I'm twenty-one (I'm eighteen right now).
I, Jang Ri In, will show you how to win a guy in ten days
...and lose him the next.
