Do You Like Him More?
An Unaccepted Apology-Season 2
The room looked like any psychiatrist's room would be. There was a table with number of notes and files and other items on it.A comfortable looking chair stood few meters away from equally comfortable sofa which is one item most expected to be seen in these kind of places.
But no one was lying there nor was there any serious looking doctor sitting at the chair taking any notes...But then the sign outside the door said 'session in progress’. Strange...
But then it was a usual scene in this room.Dr.Kim Kibum was one of the therapist who believed in trying out many different ways to help his patients.
There they were, sprawled on the mattress in one of the corner of the extra spacious room ;with number of crayons scattered around.Kibum was busy drawing while his young patient was engrossed in the same activity.
After a while Kibum peeked in other's picture.
"What is that?"he asked curiously.
"A field..."came the answer from 8 year old.
Kibum glanced at his patient.
"How is everything at new house? Do you like it there now?"He asked.
The little boy paused for a second before picking up yellow color to draw his sun.
A soft smile broke on Kibum's lips.
"It's ok I guess."the boy answered without looking at his doctor.
Kibum nodded looking at the picture being drawn.
"You picked yellow for sun and not red."he commented, for which he got only a shrug as a response.
Kibum remembered when he first met the boy, his foster parents brought him to his clinic few months ago. They told him that however they had tried they were unable to make him comfortable at their home.
"He won't talk , won't play. We have to drag him to school. Other than that he never leaves his room."His mother had told him. She said they adopted a grown up boy of his age because they always wanted a older brother for their little girl and the kid's background moved their heart. The kid had come from a abusive home where he went through constant beating from his step father ,who eventually abandoned him.
When Kibum had started his therapy he had instantly understood that only talking won't do any good, because the boy would not say a word. When he introduced his other ways he observed the boy responded to paint therapy the most. Only his drawings were often dark with loud colors.
Slowly and steadily Kibum made the boy talk, taking clues from his drawings. Learning the torture the boy had gone through he understood why the kid was not responsive and scared of anyone around him. Involving his new family in his experiments with the child had started to help slowly. The mother had confirmed it and the drawings were now a bit brighter and the sun was no longer red.
"What is that?"the boy asked looking at Kibum's drawing.
"A rabbit..see I drew a carrot also."Kibum answered pointing at orange triangle.
The boy gave him an amused look.
"It doesn't look like one."he commented.
"Yah..it is so.See these are the ears..I used pink there..yahh..don't laugh you..." and it went on...

After seeing off the boy with his now fairly happy mom and sister ,he didn't have any more appointments. He tidied the room before locking it.
He then made his way through the empty passage which was joint to his house. The unique setup let him use one part independently as his clinic.
He could hear voices from television letting him know that his partner was already home.
"You are already here, how was your day?"he asked entering the living room.
The small man sitting on sofa didn't lift his eyes from TV when he just nodded for an answer.
Unhappy with the arburpt reponse, Kibum glanced at the TV where some cartoon was playing and other was engrossed in it laughing along.
Chuckling softly ,he threw a cushion on baby faced man taking seat next to him.
"Yah brat watch it.."Donghae yelled ,dodging the cushion.
Kibum laughed watching his boyfriend, who was yet not ready to pay any attention to him.
"You are watching cartoons again.” he said.
"There was nothing else to watch.” came a single line answer.
The younger rolled his eyes in response before sighing and leaning his head on sofa.
"You remember Jung ah? He is doing fairly good now. He tries to be around at home and his school performance is also improving.” he started talking not sure if other was listening to him or not.
"Hmm..that is why you are considered as one of the best counselors."Donghae complimented, he sure was listening.
Kibum didn't react though. He was thinking about his new case. He was so reluctant to accept this when Zhou Mi contacted him. He had never handled a case like this of...Heechul yeah that was the name he remembered.
The more he read about this case history and the more he discussed it with Zhou Mi he had come to know the depth of it. Cases of repressed memories have been complicated but this included so much emotional charge to it.
"They will come tomorrow, you know the repressed memory case I told you about. I am curious and nervous at the same time. Memory regain is what I have not handled yet."Kibum talked lost in his thoughts.
"Yah Kim Kibum are you doubting yourself?"
Donghae's sharp tone broke his thought process.
He looked up to find other looking straight at him.he smiled softly before turning and laying down on sofa, resting his head on Donghae's lap.
"What are you doing?"the baby face man asked.
"I am having my own private session."Kibum answered grinning.
Donghae let out a small laugh..this serious looking doctor was actually too cute to handle sometimes.
"You will be ok..Aren’t you always good with children and young adults? "He said brushing younger's hair with his fingers.
"I think you can handle them better, just one strong whistle and they will obey your instructions."Kibum teased his sports instructor boyfriend.
"They can show you hell sometimes “other commented. It was hard to handle bunch of super excited kids.
"The thing is , he is not exactly a child. He must be older than us . It's just his trauma which have made him like that and that's why I think this case is complicated. There are so many other factors which needs to be considered here...I don't know why hyung recommended me for this..after all I only specialize in child psychology. "
"But right now he is a child right? He acts like one, he talks like one, he thinks he is one. May be, Zhou Mi wanted you to look at him as one , one of those lost children with whom you work best and not a special case."Donghae tried to explain his viewpoint on this case, this case had made him curious as well.
Kibum gave a sweet smile as he considered other's words.
"You have all the qualities of being a good counselor" he praised his boyfriend pinching his nose.
"But...the problem is ;you yourself are a child, watching cartoons everytime."he teased and gained and angry look from other.
"Yah I told you there is nothing other to watch."Donghae immediately defended himself.
"You always give that excuse. Let me check, it's almost news time"Kibum said grabbing remote, but Donghae snatched it back from him.
"No ways, I had it first so I am watching this."he declared trying to keep other away from remote.
After a short struggle Kibum finally gave up as he laid back in his previous position watching older's excited face watching cartoons.
"You are still a child ,baby Hae"he commented pinching other's che
