Chapter 6

“What secret is it ?” They were both shocked to see who asked it. It was Key.

“Well, umm…” Amber said unsure of what reason is she going to say

“What ? Tell me. The both of you are keeping secrets with each other ? Are we not friends yet, amber ?”Key said looking at amber with a sincere smile which caused amber to blush instantly and covered her face quickly to hide her red face

“Well, do you really wanna know that secret ?” Kris said and amber looked at him with the eyes that are begging to him

“Of course I want to know ! Well, if amber wants me to know too” Key said with a sad expression. Amber couldn’t help but want to tell him that ‘I’m a girl, I love you and let’s get married !’ but apparently, she can’t do that. Not in her situation right now. Key still loves Sulli and she doesn’t want to hear the words of rejection. Maybe, staying friends will do before she could tell him and leave Korea after that.

“Well, the secret is that amber is… a black belter in taekwondo !” Kris said to key and key’s jaw just dropped

“That’s it ? That’s your secret ?” Key asked in disbelief. Well, that’s what you get if you’re expecting too much

“Yeah ! That’s my secret. Only few people knew about it including you !” Amber said happily but in her mind, she was thinking. How did Kris even knew that she was a black belter in taekwondo ? She haven’t even opened the topic to him. Maybe she’ll just ask him later, amber thought

“So, I’ll go back to my dorm and come with me amber. You’re going somewhere key ?” Kris said with a poker face but inside him, he was just protecting key. Well, key doesn’t know that amber is a girl. What if they get close and key falls for her and key will thought that he was a gay and then he’ll know that he’s fooled by this silly girl. Tch.

“Well, I was just about to go to the library and I want to talk to amber too. Mind if you join me going to the library and have a lil’ chat ?” Key asked amber straight into her eyes and she blushed again

“Umm.. I’ll go.” Amber said with a big smile reaching her ears plastered on her face and Kris just looked at her with a poker face, hiding what his mind really says.

“We’ll be going now Kris. See you later !” Key said and wrapped his shoulders around amber neck like they’re buddies and the both marched away going to the library.

At the library, key pulled amber to the Fiction Books shelf and look for some books.

“So, what book are you looking for ?” amber asked key while she’s still scanning some books that interests her.

“Actually, I really want to talk to you” Key said and amber’s heart skipped a bit and then looked at key with a shocked expression

“W… What is it that you want to talk about ?” Amber asked

“Well, Ummm… how should I say this ?” Key said hesitantly and then scratched the back of his neck, looks like his thinking

[Amber’s POV]

“Well, Ummm… how should I say this ?” He said and scratched the back of his neck. Omygosh ! Is he going to confess ?! *face palm* How will he like me if currently, I’m a guy now.

“I just want to thank you for being friends with Kris” Key said which made my heart sink. Okay, 10% because of depression because he didn’t say that he likes me. Okay, that’s so gay. 90% because, what’s with the sad tone and why is he thanking me for being friends with kris ?

“Umm.. I hope you don’t mind but, why are you thanking me ?” I asked him.

“That’s because. Kris doesn’t talk to anyone that much. He’s more like a self centered person. He’s not sociable. I’m total opposite of him, yeah” He said and we both chuckled

“And ? He doesn’t have friends ?” I asked him.

“Before, Kris didn’t even bother to make friends to anyone especially girls” Key said in a sad tone which made me curious

“Why ?” I asked him

“Originally, we are 3 best friends. The other one is a girl. He likes our girl best friend so much but one day, that girl died. And from that day, he promised not to befriend or fall in love with any girls and anyone because he didn’t want to be left alone again. He doesn’t want to befriend with anyone anymore and he wants to isolate himself” Key explained. Kris is pitiful. Maybe that’s why he acted like that when he knew I was a girl. And also, that’s why he acted like that during the first day of school at the dorm. I didn’t know he hides a problem like that. Although he’s a snob and Mr. Bfk. I really like that nick name ! Okay.

“I didn’t know he has some problems like that” The only sentence that I could say. Many things about him bothers me. About how he survived without that girl he loves. If it happens to me and key… *taery eyed* I don’t know what should I do.

“Hey, amber. Are you crying ?” Key asked which made me realize that a tear have fallen from my eyes. I didn’t noticed that I actually cried. I do pity Kris. I just can fell what he feels. I don’t know T.T

“N.. no ! Something got into my eyes” I said, pointing at my eyes and quickly wiped away the tears from my eyes using my hands. Key stopped me and offered me a handkerchief. *blush* He’s such a gentleman ! Omg !

“thanks Key” I said while wiping my tears using his handkerchief I smelled it and it smells like Chocolate. Heaven. I didn’t know why but my vision suddenly becomes blurry. I didn’t realized what happens next but my eyes just out and I can hear key saying “Are you okay ?”

[Key’s POV]

I was shocked when I saw amber faints. Luckily, I held onto him before he falls to the ground.

“Are you okay ?” I said while tapping her shoulders. What should I do ? I carry him and then I rushed into the nurse’s office. Along the corridor, some of the students were looking at us and I just continued to run. I was running when someone stopped me. It was a teacher. I think his name is Professor Sungmin ?

“What happened to him ?” He asked me with a worried expression. Does he amber ?

“Ummm.. He fainted …and then …I’m going to the nurse’s office” I said while catching my breath.

“What ?! To the nurse’s office ? Just give him to me, okay ?” He said while panicking. He’s weird

“No sir, I can handle it” I said but he still hesitated.

“give him to me or I’ll kick you out !” He said with a serious tone and left me no choice but to give amber to him. Why is he over reacting ? I’ll bring amber to the nurse’s station okay ? I know he’ll do that too. He’s really weird and when he got amber, he quickly rushed through the corridor. Really weird.

But, amber’s sick and Kris should know about this maybe. I’ll go and tell him what had happened.

“Kris ! Amber fainted a while ago and professor sungmin brought her to somewhere I don’t know” I said while still panting because I ran up to their dorm

“Yeah. He’s sick by the way.” He said while still reading some magazines. Oh my gosh ! I really thought they ’re friends already. He’ not even concerned for the guy.

“You don’t even care ?” I asked him.

“Well, he’s badly sick and you even forced him to come and join you to the library. He didn’t bother to say anything because he doesn’t want to feel guilty” Kris explained. So that’s it ? He’s really sick and then I even forced her to come with me but by that time, he should be resting. He’s such a nice guy. I’m now the one feeling guilty. I even worsen his sickness.

“Really ? Is that so ? What should I do ? How could I make up to him ?” I asked kris whose still busy reading the magazine. I glared at him and snatched the magazine away from him

“Hey !” He shouted and I quickly threw the magazine to the front door. “what’s your problem ?” He asked irritated.

“I’m asking you a question. Just listen to me first okay ?” I told him and he rolled his eyes. Okay, he’s angry

“To make up with him, you should treat her to something that she likes. A food or a gift maybe. You think about it. Just, ask her okay ? Now get the magazine and give it back to me !” He yelled at me and I followed what he told me. He’s idea was just great ! But I want to surprise her. I handed him the magazine and sat at the corner of his bed

“May I ask you a favor ?” I asked him and he glared at me and then ignored me again. “Please?”

“what is it ?” He asked coldly and focused on reading the magazine

“Well, I want you to ask her what kind of food or anything that she likes the most. Please ?” I begged him and gave me a ‘like-the-hell-i-will-do-that’ look. “Please ?” I added. “I beg you Almighty Kris !” He said and he stared at me coldly. Like I’m going to be frozen at his stare. So scary.

“Please ?” I begged again.

After several seconds…

“Fine. Now get out of our dorm !” Kris said and Kicked me out of the bed using his feet which caused me to fall to the ground. Okay, my hurts right now.

“That hurts !” I yelled at him and he ignored me again. Tch. Such a snob

“Fine. Don’t forget about the deal okay ? I need it by tomorrow” I told him and walked towards the door then I noticed amber’s bed and my conscience hit me again. He should be resting in this bed right now.

Aww… Conscience ! Stop the torture please ?

“Amber ! You’ve woken up. My Gosh ! Do you know how worried I am ?” Sungmin said when amber opened her eyes. All she could see is white wall painting and her oppa.

“Where am I ?” Amber asked. She was currently in the nearest hospital in their school

“I brought you to the hospital right away. You’re and you fainted ! You didn’t even told me ?” Sungmin said in a disappointed tone.

“I’m really sorry okay ? It’s a long story but I have to …” Amber didn’t continued what she was saying because sungmin cut her

“Wait. Before that. I just want to tell you that. I’ve been exchanged to the other branch of Kirin Academy. I won’t be able to protect you here anymore amber. I’m really trying my best not to be exchanged but, I’ll get fired if I didn’t do it. I’m really sorry amber” Sungmin said in a sad tone and amber just pat his hand that was placed in the bed

“It’s okay oppa. I can take care of myself” Amber said with a smile

“Really ? Aww… My poor little girl. What are you going to say by the way ?” Sungmin asked her

“Oh ! nothing. Just don’t mind it” Amber said and smiled again. “When are we going back to the dorm. My dorm mate will find it strange if I didn’t come back there at this time and our dorm will close within an hour !” amber said panicking. “Can we go back to the dorm please ? I’ll just rest there.” Amber said and Sungmin couldn’t help but agree with her and they paid the hospital bills and check out already

When they reached the school, amber bid farewell to sungmin and so do sungmin and then sungmin left with his car and amber walks back to their dorm

It was dark when she entered the room. She opened the lights and found Kris lying at his bed. Sleeping. She tiptoed inside and then went to her bed. She realized that she hadn’t take a bath this morning and she stinks already. She grab her towel and her clothes and undergarments and then quickly went to the bathroom. Their bathroom is divided into two by a curtain. The other half is the toilet bowl, the sink and the mirror. The other half is the bathtub and a shower. She put her things at the other side and took a shower forgetting to lock the door.

After she took a shower, she wrapped first the towel around her body, serving as her clothes and then she brushed her teeth while looking at the mirror and singing ‘Genie’ of SNSD.

Kris was awakened by the light. He thought that he forgot to switch off the lights. He gets up and feels that he need to pee. He looked at amber’s bed, noticing that amber hadn’t come back yet.

Kris lazily opened the bathroom door and then he was shocked when he saw amber standing there with only a towel covering her body exposing some parts of her milky white skin.

Amber’s eyes widened in terror when he saw kris entered the bathroom via mirror. Did Kris just saw her with only towel covering her body ? Luckily, Kris quickly closed the door and he was now fully awakened because of what happened. Did he just saw that ? He now looks like a ert Kris thought

Amber quickly finished brushing her teeth and then put on her pajamas. She slowly opened the door and take a peek. She saw Kris sitting at his bed. She got out of the bathroom and talked to kris

“Hey. Are you going to use the bathroom ?” Amber asked Kris

“Yes. You’re done ?” Kris asked

“Yes. You may now use the bathroom” Amber said and then she went to her bed already and so do Kris went to the bathroom.

“Where are you from ?” kris asked when he got out of the bathroom

“Umm.. Well, Just somewhere” Amber lied. I don’t want to tell him that I’m from the hospital because he don’t want him to worry amber thought. She didn’t realized that she said it a loud

“I know where you’re from. You’re thinking that I’ll be worried ? in your dreams !” Kris said and smirks

“How did you know that ?” She accusingly asked and her brows meet

“You said out loud. Tch. Such a babo” Kris said and amber glared at him. “turn off the lights” Kris said and went to his bed

“Mr. Bfk forever !” Amber said and then switched off the lights. “Good night” Amber said and Kris didn’t say anything

KRIIIIIINGGG !!

Amber was awakened by her alarm for the 3^rd time but she just keep on snoozing it. Kris is awake already and now irritated by the noise created by the alarm. Finally, he decided to get the alarm and then put it in amber’s ears. It actually worked ! When the alarm ranged, amber quickly got up from her bed and then give Kris a disappointed look.

“I still need to sleep okay ? I’m still sick !” amber reasoned out.

“No you’re not. You’re from the hospital yesterday and you’re fully recovered. Now get up from your bed you lazy dog” Kris said while still ringing the alarm at amber’s ears

“Stop that will you ?! Aww.. My ears hurts” amber said with a sad tone and then kris just chuckles to see her expression.

“Get up or you’ll be late. It’s your choice. I’ll leave now. Bye” Kris said and grabbed his bag at the table

“What ?! you’re already done ? Wait for me !” Amber said and quickly grab her clothes from the closet

“No way ! I don’t want them to see me walking around with you. Now, I’ll go. Don’t forget your keys because I wouldn’t open the door for you, okay ?” Kris said and then shut the door close.

Amber frowned and looked at her alarm clock. It’s already 7:10 and her class will start at 7:30 ! She quickly went to the bathroom and do everything that she have to do.

“Hey Kris ! Good Morning !” Key said appearing from nowhere and then they both do their ‘handshake’

“Hey” Kris replied shortly and continued walking

“So, how’s amber ?” Key asked and Kris froze because he remembered the scenario last night. The thing that he doesn’t want to remember anymore

“He’s still at our and he’ll be late for school because he just woke up” Kris explained

“What ?! you didn’t even bother to wake him up ?” Key asked Kris

“If I hadn’t woke her up, she wouldn’t be awake right now” Kris said and rolled his eyes

“So, did you ask him what he wants ?” Key asked

“No. I haven’t asked him but, maybe later” Kris said and they both continued walking going to the classroom

“Mr. Lee ! You’re 30 minutes late !” The professor announced when amber entered the classroom

“I’m really sorry sir” amber said and saw Minho and Myungsoo waving at her. And there also she saw Kris smirking.

“Hi” Myungsoo greeted her

“Hello” amber said and put her bag down

“Hey. Why are you late ?” Minho asked

“I over slept. Yeah.” Amber said and chuckles. Kris turned around to face her and gave her a poker face and she just glared at him. How could he leave her like that ? He’s such a Jerk amber thought.

“Good Morning amber” Key turned around and greeted amber and then she blushed again

“Good… Morning” Amber said.

Key gave Kris a signal to ask amber about what she likes or want to have. Kris at first doesn’t want to do it but Key is now begging him. They’re like communicating through their eyes

“Okay. Fine.” Kris said and stared at amber’s face like there’s a dirt on her face

“What ?” Amber asked and then wiped the imaginary dirt away from her face

“I just want to know if you want something to eat later ? Or anything that you want ? Don’t worry, it’s my treat” Kris said smoothly but deep inside him is that he is very ashamed of what he have done. Okay, that is not so like him

“I want to eat ? Well, I’m craving for a bubble milk tea” Amber said happily. “You’re treat later ?” amber added and smiles like a child. She was craving for a bubble milk tea last week until now and she was really happy that Kris asked her and treats her. How lucky she is but, what changed Kris’s mind ? Why is he being kind towards her ?

“Okay. Later. Let’s meet at the bubble milk tea house two blocks away from school. The Majestic Bubble Milk Tea house okay ?” Kris said and rolls his eyes. He glared at key and key mouthed ‘Thanks’ to Kris.

Amber was really confused about how Kris treats her kindly right now. It is so not like him she thought. Maybe, she’ll ask him later ? But what if his mind changes and don’t treat her anymore ? Okay, final. She wouldn’t ask.

“Amber !” Myungsoo snapped his fingers in front of amber’s face which caused her to come back to her senses.

“oh, I’m sorry. What is it ?” Amber asked

“We’re having a group activity by 3’s. We just want to ask you if you want to group with us ?” Minho explained and amber just nodded. “Sure” She said

Bubble milk tea later is sure fun ! Amber said inside her mind.Chapter 6
