      He was with his usual group of friends, talking and laughing at the back of the class. She looked up from her stupor as the familiar dorky sound reached her ears and she swear for a brief moment, no, maybe for a split second, just a mere second –their eyes met each others. Overwhelmed by shyness, she averted her eyes back to other direction, turned her body back to face the front, and craned her neck to the left letting her eyes gazing through the window to calm her turbulent heartbeats.

     As she tried to compose herself, she silently cursed for letting go a chance to say anything, hi perhaps, or maybe for the funny sound of his adorable laugh, might as well just raised her hand or eyebrows at least, or nod a bit as a sign of acknowledgement –she missed the opportunity again, the chance to tell him that she does exist. What if he thought her unfriendly or arrogant?

     Who she’s kidding now, she still but couldn’t help being like that. What if he catches the sparks that burst shamelessly from her eyes, and bubbles of cracked emotions that she keeps hidden inside? She was afraid of so many things; the endless ifs and doubts, her plausible predictions of future that may or may not come true. She was afraid of them all.
