Making Horizontal Lines
simple // ur most basic layout tutorials thread
So some of you have requested for this tutorial after I used
it in the navigation.
So, here it is. (:
Enjoy
Just like we were when we were making the vertical lines, we're going to be using the < div > tag again. I'm going to try and make this tutorial as sweet and short as I possibly can. If you haven't learned how to or looked at the tutorial, please check out the tutorial of making lines (located on chapter 14) before you continue because I'm not going to run over any old things that I've already said in chapter 14. Hey, that tutorial was long to make okay? And like I said, I'm feeling uber lazy today.
Actually, scratch what I said about trying to make this sweet and short. It will be sweet and short since I'm not going through any old things.
** Remember! Delete spaces after every "<" and before every ">" in my examples to get it to work properly.
Example:
< div style="height:4px;width:500px;background-color:#ff9ca2;float:left;margin-left:200px;text-align:center;" >
< div style="margin-top:10px; font-family: arial; letter-spacing: 1px; font-size: 9px; color: #000000;"/>
insert text here insert text here insert text here insert text here insert text here< br >
insert text here insert text here insert text here insert text here insert text here
< div style="height:4px;width:500px;background-color:#ff9ca2;float:left;" >
hehe. yep.
that's how lazy i am.
anyway, if you make horizontal lines and you notice that the
layout goes off the page and into the comments or something,
go into your source and at the very bottom, there should be a
< p > tag waiting for you there.
go into the < p > tag and just press enter
a million times, depending on how much you have in here and
also depending on how much you want to show.
if you press enter too many times, there will be a huge
white empty space at the bottom of your layout.
aaand, that's all for this tutorial.
hope it helped and hope you enjoyed. (:
