I grazed my fingers along my stomach nervously, straightening out the creases in my dress. "Why do you care what he thinks of you", I thought with a hint of bitterness , "he won't leave you, he can't leave you". Checking my appearance one last time in the mirror, I slowly made my way down staircase to the living room. 

"Jihyun," she said with a wide smile before her husband followed suit. They looked genuinely pleased for this engagement, something my father would share if he was around. He had mentioned this engagement, this entrapment, so many times, it was almost sad that he was not here to witness this.

"Hi Mrs. and Mr. Kim," I said forcing a soft smile, "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Naturally, I glanced around the room to locate this fiancé of mine. A little frown marred my face when I realized there wasn't a single person in the room that wasn't old enough to be my father. 

"He's running a little late," Mrs. Kim said noticing my wandering eyes, "But he'll be here soon."

"Are you sure?" a low chuckle sounded behind me. The husky voice caught my attention and made my heart flutter.

I slowly turned around with my head down, that's when I noticed a very familiar pair of legs. Legs that had accompanied me on many walks in the park. Legs that were always entangled around mine when I woke up. Slowly lifting my head up, I noticed a pair of hands, hands that had caressed my cheeks and my hair. Finally, I came to meet his eyes. Cold eyes that tore at my heart and reflected my shocked expression.

"Kai..." I whispered before bringing my hands over my stomach, "Kai...".
