The next day found the two sisters wandering the giant mall, chomping on some custard and chocolate breadsticks.

"Do you even know where we're going, Sica?" Krystal giggled, "I'm pretty sure Nintendos were the other way."

"How do you even know that, Krys? You were like three years old last time we came here."

A tapping on Jessica shoulder. "Hello, miss?"

The two sisters spun around with a squeal of surprise. "Who are you?"

"I'm a street scouter working for SM Entertainment..."

Before long, Jessica was leaving to become a trainee.

“Pinky promise you’ll be back for my birthday party?”

Tugging at her sister’s t-shirt, Krystal held out her pinky solemnly.

Linking their pinkies together, Jessica chuckled, “I already promised I would, didn’t I?”

“You’re my bestest friend, ‘Sica,” the younger explained very seriously, “forever and ever, so you gotta come to my birthday.”

 

One last hug and Jessica climbed into the car with their father, on the way to become a star. Their mother scooped up the little one who was stifling a yawn, as they waved goodbye.

Unspoken promises are of utmost importance.
