GIRL
I sat up, yawning and stretching, thinking that Kris wasn't in the room anyway just like last time, but only to actually find him staring at me from his bed, just awaken, too, his hair flying in different directions.
My arms froze in midair and my eyes rounded. When I realized what I was doing after a few seconds, I hastily retracted my arms and hurriedly got up, only to trip over a messy array of blankets and have my face fall flat on the floor. Wow, what a way to start my day.
Kris was still staring at me when I stood up, his brow raised in... amusement? I couldn't really tell; either I was still sleepy or his side of the room was darker since the sunlight streaming from the window didn't quite reach it.
"Uh - good morning?" I offered, unsure of what to say. I was already embarrassed in front of him; it would help if I wouldn't embarrass myself more.
I had expected him to scowl, to snap at me for being clumsy and for being an eyesore early in the morning, but he didn't. He calmly flung his blankets off to the side of his bed and headed to the room with the white door, which I'm guessing now was the bathroom. I'll never forget that door since the memory that went with it was quite unforgettable.
I was still standing in the same spot, thinking whether I should leave or not, when he got out and stared at me again.
"What are you doing?" he asked, no hint of sharpness in his voice, just mere curiosity. When I didn't answer, he waved me off with one hand. "The elevator should be fixed by now. Go back to your room," he said, sounding more like himself. And there I thought he wasn't going to kick me out. "And if you want, you can come back for breakfast," he added but looked like he regretted it the moment I looked at him in surprise. Okay. What?
"We're going to eat together?" I muttered dumbly.
"No, we're not," he said, his brows arching in that familiar manner whenever he got frustrated with my questions. "Aish, of course, we're going to eat together. Why else would I offer?"
"Uh," I mumbled. Why, indeed, are you offering? I wanted to ask. Instead, I squeaked an okay and hurried out of the room.
Something must have hit Kris on the head when he was sleeping, I thought as I got inside the elevator. Or maybe it was my kick.
After I finished up, my phone had an unread text like I expected. I was thinking Kris had changed his mind and was telling me about it.

Lobby.
Lobby?
I hurried down and sure enough, Kris was sitting on one of the sofas, his face leaning on his palm, his arm propped on the inside arm of the sofa, his gaze distant towards the door. He had a loose long sleeve on and jeans. His gaze grazed my face for a second before he stood up and walked towards the revolving door. I supposed that meant I should follow him.
Kris was silent on our way to wherever he was planning to take me. And all the while I just stared at his back, my mind unable to comprehend the reason behind his behavior. Kris just asked me to have breakfast together, is the world ending? He suddenly stopped and I realized we were standing outside one of the commercial franchise around our school, Dunkin' Donuts. He glanced at me once, as if contemplating whether he was going to ask me or not. But he went inside without a word, and I followed.
"I'm going to order. What are you going to have?" he asked after a moment of hesitation when we sat on a two-person table.
My eyebrow raised in surprise. "Aren't you going to ask me to do it?" I asked instead of answering. "I'm your errand girl, after all." Because, Kris, nothing is making sense. But maybe if you a
