Woohyun sat across from two people. One of them was Sungyeol, the love of his life. Woohyun couldn’t even begin to describe how much he felt for this guy. He wanted nothing more than to shower Sungyeol with his love. Unfortunately, the person sitting next to Sungyeol was…Myungsoo. Myungsoo was Sungyeol’s boyfriend. He drove Woohyun crazy; they drove Woohyun crazy.

            As Sungyeol took a sip of his coffee, some whipped cream got onto his lip. Oh, how Woohyun wished he was the one who would be able to kiss the sweet cream off of those sweet lips. But, he couldn’t. Myungsoo did, unknowingly, causing Woohyun to clamp down on his teeth and clench his fists under the table. He saw the light pink blush grow on Sungyeol’s cheeks. He giggled softly, music to Woohyun’s ears. He watched as Sungyeol playfully pushed Myungsoo away from him.

           Myungsoo beamed at his boyfriend and caressed his face, while Woohyun, who sat across from them, hid his burning jealously. He looked away from the loving couple and glanced down at his hands. His nails were beginning to break skin. His eyes widened slightly, and he stretched out his fingers, rubbing them together slightly, hoping to prevent the bleeding that was about to come.

            “Woohyun, are you okay?”

            Woohyun blinked. He looked up from his hands; it was Sungyeol. He could recognize that angelic voice anywhere. He stuttered in the attention of his love, something he does once in a while. “Y-Yeah, O-o-of course. Why wouldn’t I be?”

            Woohyun glanced at Sungyeol again, taking in the worried look on Sungyeol’s face. He gulped down the nervous feeling of his. “I’m fine—really.”

            Sungyeol wasn’t convinced. He opened his mouth to say something but Myungsoo put his hand on his. “Sungyeol,” he said quietly, “if he said he’s okay, then he’s okay. Don’t continue to bother him.”

            Sungyeol looked at his boyfriend. He wanted to probe Woohyun for the truth, but he knew that he could sometimes be annoying and nosy. He nodded and held Myungsoo’s hand in his. “Alright,” he whispered.

            Woohyun watched the two whisper in front of him: the two of them smiling, Myungsoo leaning in for a quick kiss. He didn’t even know why he agreed to join the couple for coffee. He didn’t want to see this so early in the morning. But the truth was, he did know why. It was because Sungyeol would be there, because Sungyeol was the one who had invited him to join them for a morning coffee. He was obsessed with the guy. He would do anything for Sungyeol—even die.

            After the three of them left the coffee shop, Woohyun made an excuse saying that he had to go to a meeting at work. Sungyeol had asked him if he wanted to join the couple at the park. This was the first time Woohyun had lied to Sungyeol. For some reason, today, he just didn’t want to be the third wheel, even if it meant not being with Sungyeol for the rest of the day. It would hurt Woohyun, not seeing Sungyeol’s face and hearing his wondrous laugh, but he had to do it. Sungyeol was happy with Myungsoo, and they needed some alone time. Myungsoo had even called him up one day to ask Woohyun for some.

            He could recall that day very clearly.

*FLASHBACK*

            “So… why did you call me over Myungsoo?”

            “I wanted to talk to you about Sungyeol.”

            Woohyun looked nervously at the ground. Just hearing Sungyeol’s name drove him crazy. He felt a cold sweat begin to form on his forehead. “W-What about him?”

            “He’s very nice, don’t you think?”

            Woohyun felt himself smile at the ground. “Yeah, he is…”

            “You know how he calls you and asks you to hang out with us all the time?”

            Woohyun closed his eyes. He knew where this was going to go. “Yes…”

            He heard Myungsoo sigh. “I know that you are Sungyeol’s best friend, and that you don’t really have anyone else with you right now, but I’d like it if you could not say yes all of time. Sungyeol asks you to come with us every day because he thinks that you are lonely. I could set you up on a date if you would like. I just want to spend some time with Sungyeol alone. Every single date we’ve had, included you. I haven’t been able to take him on a romantic dinner yet… I know this might sound mean, but could you… just back away from him for a little bit?”

*FLASHBACK OVER*

            He saw Myungsoo give him a wink as he walked away with Sungyeol in his arms. He rolled his eyes. Myungsoo had set him up with a blind-date. Woohyun had only agreed because he knew that his love for Sungyeol could never come true. He would never love Woohyun the way that Woohyun loved him. Myungsoo would always be in the picture.

            Woohyun walked back into the coffee shop once the couple was out of sight. He sat down at the table where they trio just sat at. He moved the chair Myungsoo had sat in and moved his chair to face the one Sungyeol had sat in. He just wished that he could have one date with Sungyeol. Just one date and I might be able to give up on him. Just one hug…and maybe even a short kiss. Just one day alone with a Sungyeol that loved me. Even if he pretended to love me I would be okay with that.

            Woohyun thought about a date with a loving Sungyeol as he waited for his blind date. Maybe he’d fall in love with him and forget about Sungyeol. He hoped he would, but then he checked the time on his phone. It wasn’t the time that bothered him but what was behind the time. His wallpaper had a picture that he and Sungyeol had taken together before he had gotten together with Myungsoo. The two of them were smiling; Sungyeol was embracing Woohyun in a back-hug. He missed those days; many people mistook them as a couple. If they asked Sungyeol, Woohyun would watch him as he hesitated for a moment, bringing up his hopes, but they always crashed down as the beautiful smile of Sungyeol’s appeared as he slowly shook his head no. If they asked Woohyun, and Sungyeol had not noticed, Woohyun would just smile sadly at the person and say “I wish.” If Sungyeol was there, Woohyun would just shake his head no. Luckily, Sungyeol never picked up on Woohyun’s melancholic mood once the person who had mistaken them as a couple left.

            “Excuse me? Are you Nam Woohyun?”

            Woohyun glanced up from the photo of him and Sungyeol. It was probably his blind date. He looked at the guy in front of him. He had light chestnut brown hair that suited his milky white skin. The man in front of him was beautiful, but he was nothing compared to Sungyeol.

            Woohyun nodded anyway. “Yes, are you my blind date?”

            The guy chuckled. “I guess so! My name is Kim Sunggyu.”

            The two of them talked for about an hour until Sunggyu smile suddenly was gone. Woohyun hadn’t noticed while he was talking, since the big smile on his face was fake anyway. He was interested in Sunggyu, but his interest was again, nothing compared to his love for Sungyeol. Woohyun didn’t know why he was so infatuated with Sungyeol. He just could never get over him. He has tried over and over again but it never worked.

            “Woohyun…I think we should stop this.”
