|Chapter 3: Prologue C – Darkness

The utter darkness…
The small space…
And the feeling of not being able to breathe…

Eunhyuk woke up, dazed and breathless.

Finally opening his eyes, it revealed nothing but darkness.

“Hello?!” he screamed.

His voice was muffled by tape, his arms and body tied together by tiered ropes. Squirming around, he slammed his body over and over onto the walls of the closed circuit. There was only little space and no seep of opening or escape.

Eunhyuk screamed at the top of his lungs as he continued to break free from the chains. His constant movement and muffled screaming just made him even more tired.

Giving up, he tried to catch his breath.

Where the hell was he?

“And now,” the announcer said, “Presenting… the leaders of the finest student leadership teams across South Korea.”

Gyuri was impatient.

Sitting in the audience, it felt like it would be days until it would be her turn to do her speech.

During the whole event, she had called Eunhyuk several times but there was no answer.

‘Was yesterday a mistake?’ Gyuri thought, ‘Did we go too far?’

Inside her duffle bag were Eunhyuk’s boxer shorts that he had left yesterday night.

She had the urge to go up to Donghae and ask him if he had any whereabouts to where Eunhyuk was.

“Donghae.” Gyuri called out.

Donghae’s back turned towards her and he smiled faintly once he saw who it was. Already knowing what Gyuri’s question would be he spoke, reassuringly, “Gyul, I don’t know where he is. He said he’d be here an hour ago. I don’t think the rain would be the cause for something like this.”

“I know. Something must’ve happened…” her voice drifted once she saw a familiar guy in the side of her eye.

Instead of waiting for Donghae’s reply, she ran towards the back of the auditorium where the mysterious man was standing.

“Gyuri! Gyuri, wait!” Donghae yelled, running after her.

In a rundown factory in Gimpo, Eunhyuk was pushed into an abandoned dark room.

He was tied to a chair, unable to move. Eunhyuk examined his surroundings but saw nothing from the darkness.

A man opened the door and looked down at Eunhyuk, observantly.

The man had a scowl plastered on his face and looked to be like a man in his late 30’s.

Eunhyuk noticed he had a gun to his left pocket.

The man looked at him up and down, “Well well, who do we have here?”

Eunhyuk said nothing.

“So you don’t know about the FOS project?” the man went straight to the point, holding a lighter in front of Eunhyuk’s face.

“No, no I don’t. I have no clue what that is.” Eunhyuk glared at the man.

The man narrowed his eyes at him, “But I’m sure you know Lee Junkil? Don’t you? He’s your father, he must’ve told you all about it.”

“My father never tells me . And if I did know, why would I tell your stupid ?”

The man slapped Eunhyuk’s face, “You really have a slick tongue, don’t you little boy?”

Eunhyuk’s cheek began to sting, his head involuntarily looking down towards the man’s shoes from of the pain. Eunhyuk spat at it.

The man roared grabbing Eunhyuk’s face with his hands, “You in boy!!”

He grabbed Eunhyuk’s collar and slammed him into the wall, causing the chair to break and Eunhyuk to fall hard on the floor.

“You’re just like your father, aren’t you? I’m sure he got the memo about what’s happening to you right now. But it’s too late isn’t it?”

Eunhyuk glared, “You don’t in’ scare me.”

“Oh. That’s right. Your father’s helpers always seem to bail you out, right? They are pro at this, aren’t they?” He punched Eunhyuk in the stomach.

Eunhyuk suddenly groaned from the impact, the left side of his body started bleeding.

“But I’ll tell ya what,” the man stood up, “Me and my men are pro too.”

“My gang has been quietly watching on the sidelines, what your father has been planning all this time. I’ve seen you too, and all the things he’s been training you with. I must say, you’re a good fighter, Eunhyuk-shi. But look at you now, merely on the floor like garbage.”

The man took out his gun and put it on Eunhyuk forehead, “I wanna let you in on a little secret.”

Eunhyuk squirmed, groaning in response.

“Don’t you want to know who killed your first love, Han Yui? Guess, Eunhyuk, guess.” The man smiled, continuing to push the gun to Eunhyuk’s head.

He had no response.

“You don’t know who killed her?~” the man teased as if singing, “You don’t know who killed her?~”

Eunhyuk looked at the man as if he was crazy. Who was this man?

“Eunhyuk, you pabo! Your father did it all! Your father killed her!” the man laughed hysterically pushing the gun further to his head.

Eunhyuk's heart stopped at the man's words.

BANG, BANG.

At that moment, two gunshots were heard throughout the factory.

I repeat, this is the end of the prologues, MEANIN G the next chapter will be the  real start of the story. The next chapter will go BACK in time, meaning, the setting will all be before the prologues happened.]
