I'm sorry...

Park Hyomin turned out to be a nice and funny girl, sure she has her diva times but mostly she was really nice to be with. It was her first year too and she was already popular; a lot of guys wanted to go out with her and girls almost kissed her feet.

She was the definition of perfection. So it wasn’t a surprise that Woohyun fell for her, and fell for her hard.

At first Woohyun would still ate with them in lunch time but as time passed, he started to ditched them to go with the ‘popular ones’

“Is he really going to keep ditching us like that?” Dongwoo said with mouth full of rice while looking at Woohyun laughing a few tables away from theirs.

“Don’t talk with your mouth open, it’s gross.” Sunggyu pointed, eyes never leaving his book.

“Sorry.” Dongwoo responded before swallowing and gulping almost half of his water bottle. “What are you reading this time, hyung?” He leaned to take a peek at the book while Sunggyu started to explain it.

Haneul was poking her food, eyes following Woohyun’s movements on the center table. He keep laughing at some guy’s joke and casually resting his arm on the back of Hyomin’s chair. Haneul sighed and turned to her food again. Suddenly she wasn’t feeling hungry anymore.

“Hey,” Hyerin’s sweet voice said. “Want to go out shopping after school? Exams are really close; we have to go out as much as we can.” She smiled, resting her arms on the table. “So…?”

“I’m sorry, Hyerin, but Woohyun and I always go to eat ice cream after school-“

“Are you serious, unnie?” Hyerin’s tone cut her off, making her eyes go wide. “Woohyun is being going out with his new friends for the past month and you are still waiting for him to remember that?”

Ouch. That hurts.

Sure she knew that Woohyun forgot about their always-plan but hearing it from another person, Hyerin to be exact, and with that tone of annoyance and upset tone, when she was always so positive and happy, it was like she was being slapped in the face.

Hyerin sighed and took her hand. “Unnie, you need to stop waiting for him.”

The way she was looking at her made Haneul felt as if she wasn’t just referring to their ice cream dates; it felt as if she knew that she has feelings for him. But Hyerin couldn’t know. Haneul was always careful of not watching Woohyun too much, or not talk too much about him, she still keeps their skinship at the minimum and tries to not let her feelings show that much. But it seems as if nothing could fooled her, after all it was a woman’s sixth sense.

“So, go out with me?” Hyerin smiled sweetly at her, trying to make her eyes go wide but failed miserably. It wasn’t that her aegyo wasn’t convincing, but her eyes were as small as Sunggyu’s and it was a funny sight.

“Okay, but you have to threaten me with ice cream.” Hyerin rolled her eyes but smiled anyways.

“Can we tag along?” Dongwoo asked with a grin and both girls laughed. Sunggyu sighed, putting his book on the table.

“I didn’t say anything about going ou-“

“You’re going with us.” Hyerin growled under her breath, laser-like-eyes glaring at Sunggyu. He nodded with a gulp.

People didn’t know, but Hyerin could be really scary if she wanted to, and she has an amazing power over Sunggyu. If Sunggyu was manipulating; his girlfriend was twice.

The four of them went to the arcade. Sunggyu was reluctant because he wanted to go to the movies but Dongwoo and Haneul wanted to dance in DDR, everything was decided by rock-paper-scissors so Sunggyu has no other choice but to frown the entire time.

“I thought you wanted to go shopping. Why didn’t you say you wanted to go to the mall instead?” Sunggyu growled.

“Because we are going after dinner.” Hyerin smiled, clinging in his arm while watching all the games.

“Dongwoo! I found it!” Dongwoo started to laugh hysterically, running at the back of the place where Haneul was watching the DDR machine with excitement.

“Nice!”

Dongwoo put some coins to the machine and hurried to his platform. Sunggyu and Hyerin walked to them with curiosity with the others costumers.

The music began and both dancers started to move to the beat, feet moving rapidly. Hyerin started to cheer loudly, throwing her arms in the air while Sunggyu gaped at them with mouth open. The costumers started to cheer loudly too whenever Haneul does a body wave to match the choreography.

After a few more minutes, both of them walked out of the arcade with sweat in their foreheads and laughing happily, Sunggyu telling how proud he was of them and Hyerin talking about how people were enjoyed their dancing.

“You like it, hyung? You should come to one of our classes!” Dongwoo said excited, jumping instead of walking.

“Maybe I should.” Sunggyu said. “Let’s get something to eat, my threat for such an amazing show.”

“YEAH!” Dongwoo and Haneul high five each other. Hyerin smiled and took Sunggyu’s hand.

They went to a noodle house not too far from there, then to an ice cream shop and last they went to eye shopping in the mall. Some store caught Sunggyu’s attention.

“I’ll be back in a minute.” He said with his eyes focused on the Music store, walking to it.

“Hyung wait for me~” Dongwoo ran after him. Haneul and Hyerin sat in a bench in front of the store.

“I didn’t know Sunggyu likes music.” Haneul said, gaze following Sunggyu in the guitar section through the glass window.

“He knows how to play guitar and piano and he sings too,” Hyerin smiled watching Sunggyu too. “He has a nice voice. Sunggyu wants to become a singer.”

“Really?” Haneul turned to her, eyes wide. “Wow I didn’t know.”

“He doesn’t like to talk about him, if you want to know anything about him; you need to ask him directly. He’s weird like that.” She shrugged but her eyes were shining.

“Aww I can see how much you love him.” Haneul teased, pushing her slightly. Hyerin laughed.

“Of course I do, otherwise I wouldn’t be dating him.” She turned to Haneul, resting her arm on the back of the bench. “And what about you, unnie, why aren’t you dating Woohyun?” Haneul froze, eyes wide she stared at her best friend. “I can see how much you love him too.”

“B-but… how..?” Hyerin smiled.

“I’m always watching so it was easy to notice that.” She sighed. “I also noticed that Woohyun didn’t know about your feelings, he didn’t even suspect. He’s so stupid.” Hyerin shook her head. Haneul recovered herself, letting out a long breath and slumped on the bench, making crying noises.

“Please don’t tell anything, Hyerin. I don’t want him to know.”

“But why? You two would look good together!”

“Because I don’t want to lose him! I don’t want him to ignore me or that he treats me different.” She lowered her gaze. “Beside he likes Hyomin and he’s happy.”

Haneul raised her head and her eyes caught sight of someone in the distance. Hyerin noticed that and turned too.

There, a few meters away from them, were Woohyun and Hyomin walking side by side. She was talking about something while Woohyun was busy watching both of their hands brush between them. A few seconds later, he looked to one store and casually taking Hyomin’s delicate hand in his. Her eyes widened a little and looked to their hands, she then looked at him and smiled, Woohyun returned the smile and continue to look at the stores.

Haneul swore she heard her heart cracking and she took a long, shaky breath. Hyerin turned to her friend, concern in her face.

“See?” Haneul whispered. “He’s better this way.” She squeezed her eyes close and then stand up, walking in the Music store.

Hyerin saw how Haneul walked towards Dongwoo, hugging his arm and resting her head on his shoulder. He jumped a little and turned to look at her, they said a few words and Dongwoo hugged her. Then they parted and he ruffled her hair.

Hyerin sighed and looked at Woohyun and Hyomin again. She was glad that Haneul entered the store in time because now Hyomin was walking with her head resting in Woohyun’s shoulder, his face glowing. Hyerin shook her head and walked to the store.

An hour later they parted ways, Sunggyu went on a date with Hyerin while Dongwoo and Haneul walked to the dance studio. Dongwoo was talking about some new movements he learned with a friend of his while Haneul just listened, nodding once in a while.

“Hey, cheer up.” He said softly, bumping her shoulder with his. “Let’s forget about what happened earlier, okay?” Haneul sighed.

“It’s not that easy, Dongwoo. I mean, I knew something like this would happen sooner or later… but I’d have prefer it if was later, really really later.” He smiled, throwing and arm around her shoulder.

“Hyung!”

Both of them stop and turned around. A guy with dark hair, thick eyebrows and toothy grin was running towards them, he stopped a few meters away, breathing hard. His eyes widened seeing Haneul by Dongwoo’s side but he quickly straightened himself, clearing his throat.

“Hoya!” Dongwoo yelled happily and ran to hug his friend, laughing hard. “I was just talking about you!”

“Really?” He said patting his hyung’s back. His gaze met Haneul’s and he grinned. “Hi, Haneul.”

“Hi.” She nodded and awkwardly tapped the tip of her converse on the ground.

Hoya was a guy from the dance studio. He and Dongwoo were best friends since they were in high school but both of them were really different. Dongwoo is the happy, social type while Hoya is quiet and hardly smiled, he have a sharp tongue just like Sunggyu. Haneul doesn’t dislike him but she doesn’t know how to be around him, the guy seemed to get mad really easy and she wouldn’t like to be the cause of his anger. It was really hard to believe that he and Dongwoo get along well.

“I was telling Haneul about the scorpion dance.” Dongwoo said, linking arms with her. “You should teach her that, Hoya.” Hoya saw Haneul nudging Dongwoo’s side.

“Don’t bother him.” She said softly but Hoya heard.

“It’s okay, I can teach you if you want.”

“Uh? N-no, it’s okay, really. I don’t want to bother you.” Haneul shook her hands.

“You’re not bothering me.” Hoya frowned slightly. “Anyways, I was looking for you, why aren’t you answering your phone?” He said, looking at Dongwoo.

“It haven’t ring, I have it here- oh.” Dongwoo took out his phone from his pocket only to realize that it had run out of battery. “It’s dead.” He pouted. Hoya sighed.

“Good thing I found you. Today class was canceled.”

“What?!” Dongwoo and Haneul both yelled.

“How do you know?” Dongwoo asked.

“Yunho hyung send an e-mail this morning, something about having problems with the light… Anyways, I assumed that you haven’t read it so I called you but you weren’t answering so I have to search for you.” Hoya blinked.

“I see.” Dongwoo murmured. “Okay, I guess I’ll be going now. I’m going to help in the restaurant.”

“Wait,” Haneul took his wrist. “Are you going to leave me like this?” She said in disbelief.

“But you’re not alone,” He pointed to Hoya with his head. “You’re with Hoya.” He blinked innocently.

Haneul’s eyes widened and she shook her head slightly. She doesn’t dislike him but she didn’t want to be alone with him either!
Hoya’s eyes widened too and he tensed, giving Dongwoo a killer gaze.

“Bye, friends~” Dongwoo waved before running away.

Haneul sighed and turned around. Hoya cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck.

“You don’t have to stay; you probably have things to do.” Haneul smiled. “See you later.” She walked away.

Hoya blinked a few times at her and took her wrist just as she was walking past him. Haneul stop and turned to him. Hoya looked at his hand in her arm and quickly let go.

“I’m… ehm, you shouldn’t walk alone, it’s getting dark.” He said, avoiding eye contact.

“Don’t worry, I’m always alone-“ She realized that she just sounded like a forever alone and quickly shook her hand. “I mean, I know how to take care of me, besides I still have a few things to do.”

“I’ll go with you.” Both of their eyes widened. Hoya scolded himself in his head. He was acting out of impulse; first he took her wrist because he doesn’t want her to go and know he just offered himself to go with her. He wanted to punch himself for acting without thinking but well, he just made a fool out of himself so he better take the opportunity, right?

“You don’t have to, I can go by myself.” Haneul scratched her temple.

“I don’t have anything better to do.” Hoya shrugged.

He doesn’t have anything better to do? Haneul doesn’t know if she should feel glad about that or what but she shrugged too and smiled.

“Okay, I hope you like go grocery shopping.”

As they were walking to the store together, she realized that he was taller than her, even a bit taller than Woohyun. His body was well built, something that she already knew because in dance class he usually ended up with just a beater and, God, he has a really nice body… Anyways, now looking up close to his face he was dead handsome. She couldn’t help but feel attracted by him but who wouldn’t really?

The walk was dead silent so she decided to break the ice.

“Did you live near?”

“Not really, but close enough to the dance studio.” She nodded.

“And which school do you go?” Hoya’s face stiffened a little and she tensed. Maybe she didn’t have to pry in his private life like that.
“Oh sorry, I shouldn’t-“

“I drop out school.” Haneul blinked a nodded slowly. “I came to Seoul to purchase my dream because my parents didn’t approve on me wanting to be a dancer.” Her eyes widened and walked closer to him. Hoya noticed that, tensing a little.

“So you’re not from here? Then how do you know Dongwoo?”

He turned to her surprised. She wasn’t feeling pity for him? He didn’t like to tell his history because people tended to feel bad for him so he usually just kept quiet and they understand. But with Haneul he felt as if he could trust her, he was glad that he made the right decision.

“I’m from Busan. Dongwoo lived there for two years then came back to Seoul.”

“Oh, so your accent is from Busan!” She laughed. “I was curious about that. I haven’t been out of Seoul so I didn’t know.”

Hoya stared at her happy face and couldn’t help but smile at the sight.

“So you want to be a professional dancer? That’s so cool! I would like that too but I’m not good enough as you or Dongwoo so…” She made a face and he lifted an eyebrow.

“So you’re complimenting me? Why thank you.” He chuckled at her flustered face.

“I-I didn’t… well, as if you didn’t know.” Haneul blushed and turned to the other side, trying to cover her face.

‘Cute.’ Hoya though and started to laugh.

Haneul heard his laughter and turned to look at him with wide eyes.

“You laughed! Oh my God you laughed!” She started to laugh too. “I thought you didn’t have sense of humor.” She laughed again and Hoya stared at her with soft eyes.

Usually, when he remember his family he tended to feel sad and depressed but here he was; laughing with a girl he barely know (but secretly wanted to get to know her) by a joke aimed at him when he gets mad when people made fun of him.

They get to the store and Hoya took the cart, following Haneul through the corridors.

“So you live alone?” Haneul asked, choosing some tomatoes and putting them in a plastic bag.

“Yes.”

“And where do you work?”

“During the week I work till 3 in the afternoon at a café so I’d have the afternoon and evening free to practice. In the weekend I work at a restaurant.” Hoya trailed after her, answering every one of her doubts.

“I see. And what do you do on the restaurant?” Haneul put some cans and other ingredients in the cart.

“I’m a kitchen assistant.”

“Well, they must pay you well if you can afford living by yourself.” She smiled and patted his arm.  A jolt of electricity ran through their arms and both of them jumped at the feeling. Haneul step back and hit her elbow with the cart.

“Ow ow!” She squeezed her eyes closed.

“Are you okay?” Hoya asked concerned and took her arm to look at the damage. Again, a jolt of electricity shocked them but they ignore it this time. “Does it hurt?” He asked softly.

“No, I just feel cramps.” She murmured and looked up.

She met Hoya’s eyes and she gasped slightly. They both stare at each other as if trying to read the other by their eyes. Haneul’s heart started to beat rapidly and she couldn’t look away from his eyes. She could see every detail and flaw in his face, his fringe was just above his eyes and some hairs were stuck in his eyebrows, she has to suppress the urge to move them away with her fingers.

Hoya was mesmerized too. She wasn’t the most beautiful girl in the world, he has met a few beauties but, in his eyes, Haneul was the most beautiful and perfect. And seeing her right now up close, he couldn’t help but feel excited because he was interested in her since she first put a foot in the dance studio. Sure, she was close to his best friend but he hasn’t had the courage to approach her, they just greet each other and made small talk but that’s it.

And this moment right now, he was appreciating every detail on her face. Her flawless skin, her big brown eyes and large eye lashes. Her small nose and pink, thin lips. He can even saw her mole right above her upper lip on the right side. Hoya wanted so badly to kiss it.

The sound of the cart being pushed startled them and both turned to look at an elderly woman who was pushing their cart with hers. She was glaring at them, pointing to the cans behind them.

“Oh, sorry.” Hoya bowed and let go of Haneul’s arm to take the cart and moving away with it.

Haneul walked behind him with a red face.

‘What was that?’ She put a hand over her crazy heart and sighed.

“Is that everything you needed?” Hoya called over his shoulder and she snapped out of her thoughts.

“Yes.”

After getting paid for the things, Hoya carried the heaviest bags while walking Haneul to her home. They talked about random things trying to not make the environment awkward.

“Well, we’re here.” Haneul stopped by a house with white fence. Hoya looked up and whistled.

“It’s nice.”

“Yes. It’s the house of my mother’s dream.” She said softly, lowering her gaze.

“So you live with your parents then.”

“Just my father, my brother is studying in the States.” Haneul walked to the front door, unlocking it and kicking the door open. “Do you want something?”

“No, thanks. I’ll be going now; there are some moves that I need to improve.” He said putting the bags down. Haneul snorted.

“What is there to improve?” She said, taking out the items and placing them on the kitchen table. Hoya shrugged and looked around.

“It must be nice living here.” He murmured to himself but, sadly, Haneul heard. She stopped and squeezed her eyes shut.

‘If only you knew, Hoya.’

“Well, I’m going. See you tomorrow.” Hoya walked to the front door with Haneul trailing behind.

“Thanks.” She said softly, leaning against the door frame. Hoya stopped a few feet away and peered over his shoulder. “For the help and company.” Haneul smiled and he smiled back. He waved while walking away.

After putting everything in its place and making dinner, Haneul was in her room doing homework when suddenly her phone goes off.

“!” She said startled, looking for her phone on the bed. She smiled reading the flashing screen: ‘Woohyunie♡’.

“Wow I thought you forgot about me" Woohyun chuckled.

"How can I forget you, Panda bear?” He said with a deep voice. She wanted to laugh but she was mad, right?

"I don't know, you tell me. You've been neglecting us for the past month." She lay on her bed.

"About that... I'm sorry, I didn't want to leave you guys but hey! I'm popular. What can I do?" Haneul finally laughed at his stupid excuse but forgave him anyway. She couldn't stay mad at him for so long, especially since she has been missing him so much.

“What’s up?” She heard him sighed. “Woo, is everything okay?”

“Yeah, I just need some moral support.” She frowned.

“For what?” Haneul stared at her white ceiling. She would ask Woohyun for help to paint some stars in it.

“I… Well, you know Hyomin, right? Ah… of course you do.” He laughed stupidly and she rolled her eyes.

“So?” Woohyun took a few deep breaths.

“I’m going to ask her out.” Haneul’s blood turned cold and she stared wide eyed at the ceiling. “Haneul… I think I love her.” She clearly heard her heart breaking into tiny pieces as a tear rolled down her cheek.
