qualms 1

The early morning breeze woke Mi Young up and she immediately went to the kitchen  to prepare breakfast for his boss who was still in deep slumber. Yes, for the past 3 days, she had been cooking every meal for Jaejoong and he seemed satisfied because she wasn’t receiving any violent reactions from him. Of course she found it weird but she wasn’t complaining.

After cooking, she immediately proceeded to the viewing room and started to vacuum the whole area. She was humming a few self-composed notes while doing her stuff. She couldn’t help but feel excited that day. All works must be done before nine in the morning because Changmin will come and pick her up. It was her day off once again and it means that it will be fun filled day together with the love of her life.

The vacuum was so loud and her mind was floating somewhere that she didn’t notice Jaejoong, all grumpy in his pajamas entered the room and lazily sat on the huge couch and turned the TV on. It was early in the morning and it was unusual for him to leave his bed that early. He comfortably laid his back on the couch and started to watch an early morning show. Minutes passed and Mi Young was still so busy to notice him and the noise of the vacuum was really pissing him off.

“Yah!” He yelled and made Mi Young startled. “Can you please turn that thing off?! It’s really annoying.”

“But… but... I’m cleaning. You usually watch TV in your room…” of course she will defend herself. She finally found the courage to do so. She and Jaejoong were pretty close… Well… close means the termination of bickering and throwing of harsh words. It was a silent agreement between the two of them. It was a freer atmosphere for the girl since she was finally allowed to cook and voice out her inner thoughts… if she has any and some random thoughts about his boss.

He tsked and gave a sarcastic smile.”If my memory serves me right, this is my house so i have all the right in the world to decide on where to watch TV.”

“Sir, your memory serves you right. This is your house and you have the right to choose.” She innocently blurted out with made the man spaced out about what he said. Even artificial intelligence has no match to her natural stupidity or…. Innocence… or maybe… just pure dumbness.

She turned the machine off and bowed with a huge smile plastered on her pretty face.

“It’s my day off today.” She reminded him. Just in case…

“I know.”

“Saki-sshi said she will go to Junsu-sshi’s place today.”

“She told me already.” His eyes fixed on the TV. He wasn’t actually watching because his mind was all focused on her.

“The lunch is on the table. You can reheat it later. I already watered the plants in the garden and your car is squeaky clean. The floor had been wiped out, dust free as you see.”

“Where is this conversation heading?” he asked. He knew that Mi Young was up to something, something fishy.

“It’s my day off…”

“You said it twice now.”

“So I’m going out.”

“Right.”

“With Changmin-sshi.” She said reluctantly. She knew that the two guys were still in bad terms and Changmin refused to talk to her boss. But she cannot do anything about it. She enjoys going out with him and she knew that it will make Jaejoong angry.

He hissed. She was right. By the looks of his face, he was against it.

“Enjoy.” Having that said really surprised her but she didn’t dare to ask anything for he might change his mind.

“Thank you.” she bowed. “I will go now.” She headed to her room to change, missing the stares that Jaejoong threw.

“Why don't you talk to him?” It was one of their ‘ice cream' sessions after they visited the old Kim’s mansion. Changmin was still puzzled about the reason why Mi Young kept on coming to that place but he chose to remain silent until he had gather enough information. “He said sorry already.”

“Is that so?’ he said while his ice cream as they walk.

“Ah huh. He even cooked for me which was weird. Not that I’m complaining but it was actually good.”

“Same strategy, different methods.” He whispered to himself but Mi Young clearly heard it.

“Huh?”

“He sent ten trucks of ramen and gave me a year supply of it too.” Disgust was written all over his face but unfortunately, the girl didn’t manage to get it. Of course he exagerrated it a bit.

“Seriously?” she frowned. “And you ate all of it?”

“I gave it back to him.”

“Wae?” Her eyes widened and jaw dropped. “How can I be? I didn’t see any ramen in the house?”

Changmin looked at her unbelievably and smiled after he pinched cheeks. “You are so cute.” He said and Mi Young blushed as red as tomatoes. Shim Changmin just called her cute. What could be better than that? He unknowingly made her day and it was enough to give her strength for the rest of the week. Talk about oozing inspiration.

“But kidding aside, are you gonna talk to him?”

“Of course. Since he asked for your forgiveness, I might as well talk to him again. It’s not good to hold grudges you know.”

“Hmmmm.” She bowed. Those words just made her like him more. For her, Changmin was a perfect example of a true gentleman.

“So.” Changmin then took her wrist and slowly dragged her out of that village only to stop when he her call.

“Changmin-sshi, where are we going?” She asked innocently.

“Changmin-sshi?” Did he hear it right?

“Yeh.” Mi Young looked at the guy with some questions in her eyes. She just called him Changmin-sshi just like the usual and he never once complained about it, until now.

“W-what’s wrong?”

“You called me Changmin-sshi.” He said in all seriousness and the girl couldn’t help but feel anxious and wondered why he suddenly acted strange upon hearing his name.

“Oppa. Call me Oppa.”

For a minute, Mi Young wasn’t able to talk. She just stared at Changmin like he was some kind of a robber in her huge eyes. hanged open waiting for a fly to enter.

“Yah… Mi Young.” Changmin touch her forehead to check if she has some fever but her temperature seemed normal but she wasn’t moving at all.

“W-why would I call you Oppa?” she asked like it was a big deal. Well, it was. Shim Changmin of DBSK was asking her to call him Oppa. Shim Changmin of DBSK that she adored the moment her eyes laid eyes on his poster.

“Why not?” he frowned.

“O-Oppa?” she tried to laugh it off but there was a huge lump on upon saying that word but she swore she liked it.

Changmin flashed her killed smile and tucked some loose her behind her ears that turned her into a ripe tomato, again.

“Yes… from now on call me Oppa. Okay?” he said, looking intently to her and Mi Young was mesmerized. She could die any moment and she will die happy. Such simple words for him but they meant a world for her. She couldn’t take his stares and maintain eye contact so she instantly looked away and took a deep breath.

She absentmindedly nodded and smiled back to him nervously. She wasn’t going to decline the offer or she will be the biggest fool standing on earth.

“Let’s have some fun?” he then took her hand and she once again swore her heart skipped a beat.

‘This is the life!!!’ Her brain yelled while being dragged gently by the DBSK’s maknae.

“Yah Jae.” Yunho, together with his crutch went to Jaejoong and was saying some things like he was about to die.

“Yah, banana milk?” Jaejoong offered but Yunho shook his head. There was something bugging him and he wanted some confirmation and he knew he will get them from his most trusted friend.

“Ask me questions.” He said while one of his shoulders was resting on the crutch and half of his body was defending on it. He wasn’t well enough; the effect of the accident was still resting on his body. He was supposed to be resting at home with his parents in Jullado but stubborn as he was, he refused to go home and get the rest he needed to be with someone. During the accident, his body suffered too much and because of that, his girl blamed himself and kept her distance to the brokenhearted leader. But determined as he was, he never once stopped finding his lost love and bringing her back to his life.

“Bwoh?” Jaejoong was close enough to choking. Yunho wasn't just acting weird but acting crazy. He wasn’t used to that attitude. He may be childish sometimes but not to the point that he act and says all stupid things. “Call a reporter.” He said, somewhat annoyed.

“No Jae, you need to ask me questions.”

“No Yunho.” He matched his pleading eyes. “I’m not publishing any article so thanks for volunteering but no thanks.”

“Jae.” He shook his head in desperation. He was beginning to think that it was a wrong decision to go there and asked him for answers.

Since that morning, the moment Yunho wake up, flashes started appearing in his mind that cause him major head ache, flashes that had something to do with his current relationship with the girl. And those flashes will determine both of their fate.

“You don't understand. You have to ask me questions about Jaemi, I want the answers to come out from my own mouth and you have to confirm them. I want to know if my memory is serving me normally again. You have to help me before I lose my mind.” He pleaded and Jaejoong saw the seriousness in his eyes. Yunho was clearly desperate for answers and he will not be selfish for them.

“Ah o-okay…” he stuttered. “But you have to sit first.” Judging by his looks, Yunho was about to collapsed due to exhaustion. He wondered who drove him there but he didn’t have the chance to ask him since he was in a hurry.

Yunho obeyed looking at Jaejoong. The moment his back rested on the couch, he felt all his energy left his body. He was physically exhausted and mentally drained. His lack of sleep didn’t do him any good. Changmin was always checking on him but he had to pretend sleeping so that the maknae will not worry. It was too hard for him remembering everything. Jaemi answered all his questions but his mind was disagreeing with every word and saying otherwise. He was already confused and desperate to know the truth.

“Ask me question from how we met and everything you know about us. Please and tell me if my answers are all true.” He whispered, lacking of oxygen but he still continued to bug Jaejoong.

“Yunho, why don't you ask Jaemi instead?” Jaejoong was still reluctant and felt that Yunho was asking the wrong person. What he knew about them was nothing compare to Jaemi so it was a big question for him why Yunho chose him to answer all his queries.

“She’s lying to me. I know it. I can sense it. She’s not telling me the truth. All she said were all lies. She was trying to move away from me but my heart and my brain was telling me differently and I’m confused now. It feels like my head is about to explode. Please Jae, you have to help me.”

“Okay…” Jaejoong suddenly felt uncomfortable. What will he ask him? Will it be a great help to his situation or it will just make it worst? He had to choose his words wisely. Yunho was close to broking down.

“W-where did you meet Jaemi?” he started. Each word were like were hoping for some relief but instead, they acted like small needles to Yunho’s head as he though for the answer. His head was breaking that he yelled in pain with his hands pulling his own hair.

“Yunho!” Jaejoong rushed to him.  “This is rubbish, take a rest and stop doing such stupidity.”

“In Seoul…” he panted.

“What?”

“W-we met in Seoul… she…she was about to cross the street and I almost hit her.”

“Yunho, you should rest.” Jaejoong took the crutch and was about to help Yunho stand up but he just pushed his hand away.

“I can do this. Tell me if my answer is right.”

Jaejoong knew that Yunho’s memory was slowly returning and forcing his self was not a good idea.

“Answer me.”

“Yes.” Jae’s voice went up. “You told us you first met her at a street in Seoul.”

“And it wasn’t a good meeting right?”

“Yes. You fought. Yunho, stop this okay. Listen to me. You don't have to force yourself. Everything will fall into their  right place soon so just relax.” Worry  was presnt on Jaejoong’s eyes. He knew Yunho was desperate top recall everything but he was just torturing his self with what he was doing.

“You… you don't understand.” Yunho said half panting.

“Of course I understand!” Jae yelled reluctantly but it was the only way to shut Yunho up but he still failed.

“Jaemi told me that she was hired to stalk me and… and she got paid for every news and pictures.”

Jaejoong was about to walk out but instantly turned to Yunho when he heard those things. It was new to his hears and even if Jaemi was a new friend, he was sure that she will never do such things. He saw how she poured all her care to his leader and stalking and selling him to someone was just impossible.

“What are you saying?” his eyes narrowed and his toned when from a yell into a whisper. It was way absurd. “Why would she do that?”

Yunho looked away, trying to stop the tears that were slowly forming. He was hurting and every word that came out of Jaemi’s mouth was like arrows that pierce his heart.

“She’s lying.” Yunho said, his heart might be broken but his voice was full of conviction.

Jaejoong’s respect for his leader reached its maximum level. He never knew that he was hurting that bad. He hides it very well and to see him broken as he was that time, he couldn’t help but to feel distress and anxious.

“I…I know and I’m sure about what I feel.” Yunho said with a broken voice and Jaejoong stood frozen.

“This stupid head!” Yunho then started to smack his head which startled Jaejoong. “It’s turning its back on me on time that I need it the most! I want my memories back!” he cried while banging.

“Yunho!” Jaejoong kneeled in front of him and stop him from hurting himself but it was no use. Yunho, despite his situation, was still stronger than him. Suddenly, the bagging stopped and Yunho’s painful yells filled the house. Jaejoong froze again as he saw his rolling on the couch and holding his head tightly trying to sooth his headache.

Panic instantly rose and he immediately took his phone and dialed Changmin’s number but to his biggest disappointment, the phone was off.

“Where are you!” he yelled at his phone only to frown after realizing that the maknae was with Mi Young. He slapped his own forehead in frustration and went to attend on Yunho who already lost his consciousness because of his severe headache. He slowly lifted and carried him to one of his guess room and immediately called Yoochun who arrived after 15 minutes.

“He was stressed and he should rest. He needs a complete bed rest for a week. Please try to distract him from his thoughts. Keep him busy always and if the headache occurs again, just give him the medicine. What was lost will surely come back. He needs not to rush on it.”

Jaejoong and Yoochun nodded while the doctor explained what they need to do. They both worried on Yunho’s sudden behavior but cannot do something about it.

“Hyung.” Yoochun said to Jaejoong as he took a very deep breath and arranged Yunho’s head on the pillow to make him more comfortable. “What is happening to Hyung?”

Jaejoong on the other hand looked at Yoochun and fell into a very deep thought.  Jaemi told Yunho lies and it was not helping the leader at all. The reason behind all of it? He still wasn’t sure but they will surely find it out.

“Yunho’s staying here while taking his rest.” He said instead of answering Yoochun’s question.

“Huh?”

“Where is Junsu?”

“He said he will be playing soccer with some of the players from his high school.” Yoochun replied. “Why?”

“So he cannot take care of Yunho. I’ve been calling Changmin and I cannot reach him.”

“He’s with Mi Young right?”

“I know but he knows that Yunho’s situation is very critical and he needs to have someone beside him all the time.” Jaejoong was still calm but Yoochun knew that there was a hidden anger and he prayed that it will not explode anytime soon or at least while he was in his house. He can tell by the way Jaejoong holds his phone. It was so tight that the phone was ready to split into two any minute.

“I’ll tell him about it.” He was hoping to save Changmin from Jaejoong. They weren’t in good terms yet so what happened might cause a deeper misunderstanding between the two of them.

“No, I’ll tell him myself.” Jae said which made Yoochun bit his lips. He cannot allow it.

“Hyung, Changmin is still not talking to you. If you talk to him now, he might get angry again and-“

“This is not about Mi Young anymore. This is about Yunho!” The older guy’s voice rose. “If he’s mad at me because I said something stupid about his Mi Young then I already apologized.” ‘His Mi Young.’ He almost choked in that phrase. “This is another issue and we all need to take this seriously.”

Yoochun couldn’t help but nod. Jaejoong was right and he was left with no choice but to shut his mouth when Changmin arrives and Jaejoong talks.

“Oppa!!!” Mi  Young almost fainted as she ran for catch her breath. She was on her knees and Changmin was also panting heavily. They just ran a full kilometer trying to avoid some crazy fans that crossed they paths.

“Ah! We shouldn’t have come to that place.” Changmin regretted. He never knew that a simple trip to a supermarket to buy Mi Young a drink will cause so much disaster. Luckily, Mi young wasn’t with him as she waited outside when the fans spotted him. He swiftly took her hand and hide before any of the fans see the girl.

“It’s okay…” she said in between pants before she looked at her watch and widened her eyes. “Oh no… I didn’t notice it. Its 8 pm already. I bet Jaejoong –sshi  is so mad to me right now.” She said, worried.

But Changmin just smiled assuringly. “Don't worry.” He even patted her head and earned blush from her. “I will take you home and explain to him.”

“But…”

“He already apologized right?”

She nodded.

“So we’re okay, No need to worry.”

“O-oppa, you don't need to this it for me.”

“Just tell me you had a good time.” His eyes were somewhat hoping for a positive response but instead, he got a pout and…

“No. I didn’t have a good time.”

"Huh?"

"I had a great time."

“It’s late!” Jaejoong walked back and forth to his living room. “They should be here by now.” He was worried because he couldn’t contact Changmin and Mi Young wasn’t home yet. Well, more on the latter.

Junsu and Saki were already there and Jaejoong was still waiting for the maknae to arrive to have a talk to him.

“I smell a bloody fight.” Junsu whispered to Saki and the girl punched his shoulder as a response.

“Would you shut up? Cant you see everyone’s serious here?”

“Bwoh? That’s my point. The air is so suffocating and I’m just trying to lighten the mood.” Junsu defend.

Saki rolled her eyes in disappointment. She was asking her self while she end up being with Junsu.

“Ah… seriously.” She looked at the heavens and whined. “And I’m marrying this guy?”

“Haha.” Junsu smiled. “And I’m giving you with no choice. As long as you have that ring, you cannot turn your back on me. Don't worry we will get married soon so you have to be patient. This y dolphin will be yours forever soon.”

“Seriously?” She hissed. “You got to be kidding me.”

And after another hour, the most awaited person finally arrived, with Mi Young of course.

“Jaejoong-sshi… sorry I lost track of the time.” Mi young bowed and expected a violent reaction from her boss.

“It’s okay. We had a dinner already so you make take you rest.” Jaejoong calmly said and the girl bowed with widened eyes before she left.

“I shall be going too Hyung.” Changmin slightly bowed and headed for the door but Jaejoong stopped him even before he could touch the knob.

“Yunho’s here.”

“Huh?” Changmin was obviously surprised. He wasn’t expecting it.

“He collapsed a while ago.”

Fear instantly showed on Changmin’s face. He was the one assigned to take care of Yunho and he failed.

“Where were you?” Jae simply asked.

“Don't include Mi Young here.”

“I’m not including her.” Jae crossed his legs. All of them were sitting at the living room and Changmin sat across him. Everyone remained silent. Yoochun and Junsu knew more than to speak any words. And by that gesture, Yoochun knew that Jaejoong was seriously pissed.

“This is not about her anymore. I’m not against about you dating her.” Jaejoong himself wasn’t even sure if it was a lie or not.

“But I believe we all have responsibilities here towards our leader since he couldn’t take care of himself at this point.” He clearly emphasized the word ‘leader’ and Changmin was seriously struck with guilt. “Mi Young is my employee and my responsibility; I believe bringing her home late is not right anymore.”

Changmin looked at him fiercely with that statement. He hated that Mi Young’s name was brought up once again.

“Since when did you become protective of your maid? And you're saying that this is not about her?” He mocked.

“It’s not about her dammit!” He stood and everyone froze and that included Changmin, he was stricken by Jaejoong’s rage for the first time.

“ I Said I’m not against it but you have to be responsible enough to think about other people rather than thinking about your own happiness. What if Yunho collapsed on the road? What if something bad happened to him?”

That thought made everyone shivered. They didn’t even imagine it to be that bad.

“I’ve been calling you.”

Changmin then closed his eyes in frustration. He purposely turned his phone off to be free from any distraction. He wanted all his attention to be with Mi Young and it was the biggest mistake that he did for that day.

“Now it’s my fault why Yunho hyung collapse.”

“What?” Jaejoong couldn’t believe it. He cannot accept that Changmin became narrow minded. “That’s not the point!”

“Then tell me what the point is? Why are you so angry? I don’t want that to happen.”

“I just want to teach you to become responsible.”

“I get it. Okay. I’m sorry…” he just wanted that conversation to end before his relationship with Jaejoong be put into a test.

“You told us you will take care of Yunho. We also have our own business to mind. But please do call us and never turn your phone off. We are not just worried about our leader here. We are also worried about you.” Everyone nodded in agreement and finally, Changmin was shut off. The room became quiet and only their anxious breaths filled the atmosphere. They thought it was over, not until Yunho suddenly appeared from the guess room, dragging his weak body. Jaejoong and Changmin’s argument was heard from his room so he stood to stop them.

“J-Jae...” he weakly said.

“Yunho?”

“Hyung!” They all stood.

“It’s my fault. Don't blame Changmin for it."

“Hyung?” Even Changmin was taken aback.  The leader smiled at him but before Yunho could take another step, his vision became blurred and before they knew it, he was on the floor, pale and unconscious.
