I sighed

What am i doing...

"Tao"

"yeah?" he sounded impatient

"i ... i'm trying hard to forget you know" i whispered, ready to cry

"i know, i know" he really sounded impatient

"but it's hard now that he's my patient" you quickly said and sniffled. a few seconds later, when you were wondering if he already hung up or not, he spoke

"i really have to go now" he said and left.

"I really have to go now"? REALLY!? BASTERD! I'M SAYING I SAW THE MAN I FIRST LOVED AND ALL YOU CAN ANSWER IS "I HAVE TO GO"!? WELL GO!

I was really mad at him right now and cried. i could even see anymore so i decided to stay at the hospital for the night. i went back to my office, sighing all the way, and drop my bag on the floor. i lied on the sofa there was and stared at the ceiling. since i still couldn't sleep, i went to my desk and start tidying it. it was only the first day but there were already tons of papers. i took a look at a random paper that fell on the ground. it was his personal informations and i read it

First symptoms of disease: 24th July 2011

Blood type, weight, height, allergies, family problems ...

in just one night, i knew so much about him. things he didn't talked about, things he didn't want to remember, things he didn't want us to know... i sighed again and lied on the sofa once more, but this time i fell asleep there, with my mind full of thoughts and 'what if' questions.

~~~~~ next morning ~~~~~

i heard my phone ring and answered without looking at the screen

"hmmm?"

"hi my princess~" Tao cooed and i raised my head, widening my eyes and looked at the ID : Tao

Woah... i thought for a moment that it could be ... no... *sigh*

"h-hi" i answered

"oh, am i waking you up? sorry~"

"it's okay, i have to wake up anyway" i simply said and there was a blank

"about last night, you said he was y-your..." he waited for my answer but since i just woke up i couldn't really think straight

"what? last night..." i tried to remember

Right... the "i have to go" thing...

i really didn't want to talk about that now since it was morning, i didn't want to be in a bad mood because of that and also because i was at work. and work is work, i can't mix personal life and work.

"Tao, i have to go, i'm working" i said

"are you mad?" he stupidly asked

Well .. wouldn't you be?! you try to talk to your boyfriend but he says he have to go...!

"ani" i lied "i have to go now" i repeat what he said last night and hung up. i looked at the time : 6:58 am

What~! it's not even 7am!?

i groan and tried to sleep more but couldn't, so i stood up, went to take a quick shower at my apartment and came back at the hospital

8:12 am, great.

i started every day at 8:30 to finish at 6:0. i went to my office and waited for my first patient to come. i did as yesterday and he left, then a knock on my door made me look up and see Lay

"hi" he smiled

"hi" i smiled back and he sat. i did as yesterday too, but it wasn't uncomfortable anymore. i mean, it was still a little uncomfortable to see him hairless and way too skinny, but, i'm sure it's gonna be okay later on...

~~~~~ after work ~~~~~

i went back to my apartment, put my bag on my bed, and jumped in the shower. then came back with a towel around my head and looked at the TV, even though i didn't understand half of that chinese drama, it still seemed sad, interesting but it was really slow. the girl was sick, she was at the hospital and was about to die, and the boy was next to her, holding her hand, as always.

So typical... it's already been 3 episodes they're holding each others' hand, come on!

you really wanted to know what will happen but your phone rung. it was an unknow number and i just wished it wasn't a chinese who was calling me because i would have a hard time ...

"wei?" (=hello)

"wei, oh ... ni shi shei?" (= who are you?)

"ah, Chanjae imnida" i replied and face palmed myself

"d-duibuqi, wo-" i started but the guy just laughed

What the...

"Yah, Chanjae, can't you even recognize my voice!?" he said in korean and i raised an eyebrow

"who... who is it...?" i asked. the voice was too deep to be my brother and didn't sounded like Tao nor anyone i knew

"Wo shi Zhang Yixing!" (i am Zhang Yixing) he laughed and i smiled

"yah! don't prank me like that~!"

"sorry~ i was just sooo bored!!" he whined and i understood him. being stuck in a hospital waiting for the final moment shouldn't be really nice...

"wanna go shopping?" he asked. i really tried hard to not scream on the phone and tell him how thankful i was because i was also feeling bored.

"i'll come at 7, okay!?" i said and didn't wait for his answer "okay! i'll be here in a moment~!!!" i excitedly said and hung up, put on some clothes and drove to the hospital

Wah... i really missed her being like that... Lay thought and also prepared himself.

No one's POV

"do you know when they close?" you asked since it was already late

"11pm" he simply said and looked at the windows curiously.

What!? 11 pm!? they work that late!!? you thought and turned your gaze to where he was looking Beanies?

you went to eat at a nearby restaurant and he told you he lost something at the shop from earlier and asked you if you could go look for it while he would pay tha bill. you quickly agreed, seeing this as an opportunity.

Lay POV

Something's wrong ... i feel like... something's going to happen...

"Hey, Chanjae" i said and she looked at me

"hmmm?"

"i think i lost my phone at the shop where we've been earlier, you know the one-"

"really?!" she looked surprised

"yeah, so ... umm... can you please go get it? i'll pay the bill and join you right after that" i said and winked. she said yes, and immediately left the restaurant. i sighed and looked at her figure slowly disapearing

Don't turn your back at me ... Chanjae ... it hurts even more now...

Your POV

I really have to buy him that beanie~ !

i thought and ran to the shop to buy it. while the cashier was wrapping it, i received a call from Tao. i sighed and turned off my phone

I don't wanna be mad at someone when i'm with Lay...

i put the gift on my bag and went back to the restaurant, where i left him.he still didn't get out, so i started to think of how i'd give it to him. i totally forgot about his phone...

"Hey Lay~ guess what? i wanted to offer you something~!" Nah, that's not it ... erm.. "Lay~ i found something on my way and really thought you'd like it"... but what if he doesn't like it... argh! wait, why am i even being nervous, it's just a gift anyway~

i entered the restaurant and saw a crowd, then paramedics rushed in and pushed everyone at the sides, including me. i didn't get what was happening till i saw someone's hand handing in the air while the paramedics were carrying him. on this hand was a familiar ring ...

FLASHBACK

"Oppa" he looked at you "mind if i put a ring on your finger?" he gasped loudly

"wh-wh-what!?" he asked unsure of what he just heard

"here" you pointed the couple rings "i always wanted this! please oppa~" you pouted

there she goes again with her aegyo, aigooo this girl, so cute he chuckled and nodded

"arasso, let me buy it" he paid for the rings and you both put it on.

"wooah ~ it's pretty~!" you smiled "thanks oppa!" you hugged him. you didn't move for a while and when you parted, he looked down to you and whispered an almost inaudible "you're welcome" before smiling embarrassed.

... Lay ... please ... don't tell me you're going away already ... don't tell me you wanted me to go get your phone so that you could go away like that... Don't tell me that! ... Lay ... why do you always leave me alone...
