They came about fourteen years ago. Well, that is the closest estimate anyone has ever made. There was no way of telling when they actually came. How, some said. How could we not notice a different race on our planet?

To begin, they came silently, peacefully. There was no big spaceships that materialized over any major cities, no giant robots that shot super-advanced laser beams at police officers who valiantly fired round after round at the foreign objects.
 

No, to say the movies were wrong would be an understatement.
 

After what must have been months, they announced their take over, but not by threatening to unleash some ultra-nuclear bomb, or by conquering city after city. All around the world, they leaked into the various political systems, and quickly gained power in each country. No one bothered to notice that all of their new rulers had the same tall, lanky bodies, the way too dark hair, or the way too green eyes.

 No one seemed to notice that each country had the exact same political system, until one day, the leader of each government sent out a video, announcing the creation of the “International Party for the Advancement of Humans.” 
 

I never got why they threw in the “human” part. The ruling of the humans’ world was officially out of the humans’ control.
 

However “humane” the takeover seemed, the ruling was quite… brutal. The aliens took away the right for humans to choose where to live, work, and raise families.

 The suburbs surrounding cities were deemed for human use, while the aliens took our cities. Humans live in crappy housing developments. Human children went to crappy schools. Humans had a predetermined destiny according to the aliens.

 That destiny was to mine all of Earth’s resources and supply them to the aliens for their own network of dominated planets. 
 

As if stripping everything from our home, they also like to partake in a sick pastime.
A pastime that makes children fight to the death for the future of their race.
