Chapter 4 - Assignment

School was the last thing Jyeha wanted to think about. Sure Seoul's National Academy for Performing Arts was different because idols, stars and trainees attend for courses in acting, singing, dancing etc. But that didn't mean it wasn't school. There were also regular subjects such as Math, Language Arts, Chemistry etc.


Jyeha never did well with school.



Groaning and whining did not help improve the situation.

 

"Quit your sulking! Maybe you'll see your true love there" Jiah nudged earning a scowl from the younger.


"And by true love she means Kai oppa!" Hyeri grinning as she buttoned her sweater.


"If you want to live I suggest you refrain from such lies in the future" Jyeha growled.


Hyeri just shrugged her off and went to get breakfast.


"Hey Ms. Sourpuss, come eat something" Nina called.

With another groan Jyeha slumped off the bed with help from Jiah as she walked into the dining area.


"I'm not a sourpuss" she scoffed.


"Sure you aren't." her leader responded sarcastically.


"YAH!" Jyeha grunted as the others giggled.




After breakfast finished their manager dropped them off to school where they went to their separate classes.


Jyeha majored in Lead Vocals so she had to proceed to the Vocal and Dance section of the building with her Main vocal Jiah and vocal Hyeri.


Nina and Haneul forwarded to the Rapper section.


As they entered the Vocal classroom all eyes were set on them.


There was almost an equal amount of trainees as well as Idols because the headmaster thought this would be a better way to train the newbies and trainees if they interacted more with the other idols.


"So nice of you to join us girls" their teacher joked.


"We know, we thought we'd give you the honor of gracing yourselves with our presence" Jyeha joked back with an innocent smile.


With a short chuckle Miss Han directed them to their seats. 


"Go sit Ms. Lee" she smiled while shaking her head.


If it's one thing that kept Jyeha in school, it certainly was not because if the students.


Yeah some students were nice and kind but others were just as horrible as a spoilt brat.


The teachers didn't distance themselves from the students and they were pleasant to approach; so making small jokes were just good enough to ease the discomfort of going to school for Jyeha.


Walking over to their usual spots Jiah and Hyeri sat next to their friend Hyuna leaving Jyeha to seat by herself in front of them with two empty seats at either side of her.

Groaning to herself she turned to look at them.


"What great friends I have" she glared.

They just shrugged in return.
 

"Why are you guys so late?" Hyuna asked from behind. 


"She was busy dreaming about her secret admirer" Jiah winked as Hyuna smiled at Jyeha.


"Omo! Chincha?!? Who?! Who!?" Hyuna pestered with a grin.


"Don't listen to those idiots, I don't have a secret admirer and I wasn't dreaming about anyone" Jyeha growled.

 

Hyuna just chuckled slightly but soon spoke up.

"Oh! Was it that newbie from SM's new boyband?" Hyuna shot up with a grin.


"Yup. I think he likes her!" Hyeri snickered.


"He does not. He was obviously just messing with me" Jyeha muttered.


"Aw. But didn't you hear him lastnight? He sounded so intense when he was talking to you" Hyuna winked at her earning a disgusted look.


"Girl please. Relax. And didn't you have a Star King recording? How'd you watch it?" Jyeha glared.


"I saw the message on my phone and I watched it while we were coming home" Hyuna shrugged.


"Whatever. He doesn't like me" Jyeha rolled her eyes.


Hyuna was about to say something when the door opened and three familiarly handsome young men walked in.


"Oh. Good morning. Sorry for interrupting your class but we are the new students" one of them smiled at the teacher.


It took her a few minutes to snap out of the daze and come back to her senses.

Patting her cheeks she nodded.


"Ah yes. EXO-K right?" she asked.

He shot her another breath taking smile and awaited her instructions.

"Um..." she began scanning the room for some empty seats when she noticed the two seats next to Jyeha and one in front.
 

"Oh, over there, next to Jyeha" she smiled at them.

They bowed and walked over to Jyeha who hadn't even realized the situation because she was too busy going over the lyrics for some new songs her manager gave her.


After reading a few lines she realized the sentences didn't match well and were a bit off.

Sadly it didn't take long for her to be completely engrossed in her work.


"Oh hello, we meet again!" a voice interrupted her from her concentration.


She turned to her right and jumped in shock.


"WHOA! when'd you get here?!" she gasped with a hand over her racing heart.

He smiled.

"Just now. Do you remember me?" he asked.


Jyeha scratched her bead and thought. Then she finally remembered.


"Dude who apologized for that freaktard!" she snapped her fingers as her friends and the three members of EXO laughed.


She looked at them confused.


"What? What'd I say?" she asked with a pout.


"Nothing and he has a name" another voice spoke from her left.


"HOLY...SH.T! Don't do that!!!!" she jumped once more at the sight of the other person.


"Sorry!" he grinned.


"Yeah, I'm D.O, the normal one" Jyeha turned her head and looked at the person who just spoke from in front her.


She just nodded and hid a smile.


"Right, If you're normal, then pigs fly" The one on Jyeha's left spoke with an eyeroll.

"Ignore them, I'm EXO-K's leader, Kim Joonmyeon but you can call me Suho" she turned to face her right once more.


"I'm Jyeha" she smiled.
 

"And I'm Baekhyun!" a voice spoke from her left.


Baekhyun? Sounded more like bacon hahahha.


Biting her lips so she won't grin she just nodded at them.


"And I'm Jiah, this is Hyeri and 4minute's Hyuna here too. But it seems like Jyeha's stolen everyone's attention!" Jiah said loudly with a pout as the three girls looked on a the scene in front them.


Jyeha grinned at her.


"Jealous Unnie?" she laughed.


"Mehrong!" Jiah shot her a look.


"Oh you know you love me!" Jyeha giggled.


"Sadly" Jiah joked.

"Oh mianhe" Suho bowed his head at the girls behind.

"We didn't see you guys at the back" he continued.


"Sure you didn't" Jiah muttered.

"Be nice" Hyuna nudged.

"I AM!" Jiah pouted once more.

Suho couldn't help but think that was too cute.


"Well, I'm Suho, that's Baekhyun and D.O's in the front" He smiled at her.


"Yeah we know" Jiah smiled fakely.
 

Suho just smiled at her once more.



"Ok class! I have a new assignment for you." Ms. Han spoke from the front.


Assignment?

This was rare.


Jyeha looked at Hyuna and they earning the same confused look.


"So, since we have reached a good level in our vocal talent, by order of the H.O.D we well be joining the dance class, rappers class and the vocal class to group them together to test your cooperation level" she beamed.


Some students began to cheer and whistle but Jyeha sunk back into her seat.


She hated interactions with other people, especially other colleagues.


"Don't get excited just yet, there will be a group of you but you will be mixed up, which means no one is going to be with their common companions. Everyone will have to learn to cooperate together" she smiled.


Now groans and boos were heard. Jyeha was a part of it.


"Anyway, you will have to work together to learn a song. A vocal member for singing, a rapper for rap parts and a dancer as a backgrounder while the song is being sung" Jyeha swore she never saw her teacher this happy before.


"Here's the best part, we've already decided the groups! So I'll be passing around with your slip of paper and it's contents and instruction in further detail" she picked up a stack of papers and began passing them around.


When everyone got their papers Jyeha turned to her friends.


"Who'd you guys get?" she asked.


"Infinite's Hoya and B2st's Junhyung" Jiah smiled.

Jyeha just rolled her eyes at her member's childishness.


"Super Junior's Eunhyuk and SHINee's Minho" Hyuna giggled nonstop. 


"Omo...is this who I think I see?" Hyeri brought her sheet closer to her face.


"WHO WHO?" the others pestered.


"B2st Hyunsaeng and Big Bang's G.D" Hyeri covered .


"Yah! Lucky!!!!!!!" the three girls playfully glared at her.


She stuck her tongue out at them.


"What about you guys?" Hyuna asked the boys.


"Um.... SHINee's Taemin and 2NE1's CL" Suho said.



"F(x)'s Amber and SNSD's Hyoyeon!" Baekhyun smiled happily.


"This person and that person" D.O pouted at his paper with his big eyes.


Jyeha stifled a laugh and read the names.


"Super Junior's Donghae and NU'EST JR" she smiled.


"Aww poor you" Jyeha patted his shoulder comfortingly.


"What's that supposed to mean?" D.O asked with wide eyes.


"Nothing" she smiled.


"Hey what about you?" Baekhyun asked.


Jyeha looked at her paper and immediately felt as though the whole world came crushing down on her.


The paper crumbled in her hands as she stood and quickly rushed to the teacher's desk.

She was about to explode.


"There has got to be a mistake" she growled as she showed her teacher the names.


Seeing Kai's name appear was one thing but the other name caught her off guard.



"EXO-K's Kai and........... "
