Chapter One : Surprises Surprises posted: May 27, 2012

“Ssul ah, hurry come down to eat before you go to school!” Sulli’s brother call her at the bottom of the staircase. “Also, there is a letter that arrive for you.” He said holding up an envelope in his hand. It was less than a minute the sound of a door opening and closing loudly upstairs, then a rumbling sound of footsteps coming down the stairs. In a quick second the letter in his hand disappear, which surprise him. He whirls around to see his little sister is already at the door, putting on her shoes.

“Oppa, I’m meeting up with Jongin today…” Sulli said forcing her feet into her shoes and then tap the tip of her feet on the ground so that will fit right. She then waves at her brother with the letter in her hand and smile. “So I’ll be skipping breakfast to today, bye~” Sulli quickly move towards the door and turn the doorknob and push it open.

“Wait! Ssul ah!” Sulli’s brother rushes after her, but it was too late. When he reaches the door, Sulli was already gone from sight. “Is she a cheetah or something? She always disappears so fast.” Realizing that Sulli had left, he couldn’t help but become frustrated and scratch his head hysterically. “Ssul ah, you are driving me crazy, if hyung finds out that you skip breakfast again, he’s gonna kill me for sure!”

Running down the street ally, Sulli slow down her speed and laugh as she catches her breath. She had been looking back every few seconds to see if he was fallowing her. “Sorry Yonghwa oppa. I really can’t eat your cooking anymore.” She said to herself as she continues on down the street and turns a corner toward the bus stop. Remembering the letter in her hand, Sulli took a look at it and realizing the familiar handwriting. “Ah, it’s from Angel.” A smile spread across her face. She was about to open the letter when a guest of wind blew the letter out of her hand and landed on the ground a few feet from her. “Oh, no.”  Sulli rush over to grab it, but a bigger hand grab it before she did. She looks up to see who this person was that grab her letter. It seems to be a guy.

“E-excuse me…” Sulli said to get his attention. “That’s my letter.” The guy looks up at her, which cause Sulli to blush a little. To her amazement he seems to be around her age. Sulli couldn’t help but to admire his looks. He was tall, with black hair and wearing a black t-shirt with blue ripped jeans and black boots. His eyes were sharp like a cat and with bags under his eyes. Sulli could see the small little curves at each corner of his lips as he was smiling looking at the letter then at her.

“Wǒ míngbáile, nǐ shōu dào zhè fēng xìn. (I see, you received the letter.)” The cat eye boy said to her still with a smile on his face. Sulli looked at him confusedly. What did he just say to her? She didn’t understand him at all. Was he foreign?

“I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what you just said.” Sulli points at the letter in his hand. “But, That is my letter, could I have it back?” The boy looks at the letter and then handed to her. Sulli quickly took the letter from him.

“I’m sorry….my Korean …not so good.” The cat eye boy apologizes to her. “I forgot…that I’m….in Korea…I need to practice….more?” Sulli couldn’t help but to giggle at his Korean. His voice was really soft-spoken. Also the way he was speaking really slowly and carefully at each word he was saying. Sulli thought that he was actually really cute. The bus arrived at the stop and Sulli thanks him for returning her the letter before she turn around to go on the bus. She was about to climb into the bus when she heard her name.

“Sul-li?…”

Sulli turn around to see the cat eye boy right behind her. He gentle places his hands on each side of her face, cupping her cheeks and pulls her in towards him as their lips congregate into a sweet kiss. He then pull away and release her. Sulli was in shock. Her eyes were widely open as she stared at the boy that just kisses her. There was a satisfy smirk on his face as he back away from her and waving his hand to her.

“Miss, are you getting on or not? I’m about to leave.” The bus driver said to her from his seat. He was in a hurry to get to his other stops and she was taking up his time. Sulli looked around to see that everyone had already got onto the bus and she was the only one left. “Coming.” Sulli quickly said turning around enters into the bus. She quickly sat down in an empty seat next to the window at the back of the bus. She touches her lips where the boy had kissed her. It was her first kiss with a boy and she also thought about how soft his lips were too. Ssul quickly turn to look out the window to see if he was still out there, but the boy was gone.

When Sulli got off the bus, she was still in daze about what just happen when she arrived at her location. She slowly walks up the hill sidewalk as many questions and things went on in her mind.

“Sulli ah, over here~” A boy called out waving his hand in the air, not too far from her, but she was too distracted by her thoughts to hear him. “Sulli! Sulli ah!” He called out again. Still, she gave no respond to him and continues walking. “Asshi, this girl...” He rushes over to her side and stops her by putting his arm in front of her. “Yah, giant baby, why are you ignoring my calls?” he said looking at her.

Sulli look at him look up at him in surprised. “Ah, Jongin? When did you get here?”

“Get here?” He repeated what she said looking away a little upset, then turning his attention to her again. “Yah, I’ve been call your name several times, and you didn’t answer me?” He gently taps her forehead with the tip of his fingers, which made her head move back a little. “And how many times have I told you to not call me Jongin? It’s Kai. KAI!” He ruffles her hair, messing it up.

“Alright! Kai. KAI!” She laughs at her friend playfulness and trying to remove his hand from her hair. “Stop it, your messing up my hair.” Kai finally took his had away and place it around Sulli’s shoulders as she fixes her hair.

“Giant Baby…why is that you are so distracted today?” Kai ask her as they continue walking together with his arm still around her shoulders. “Did something good happen to you this morning?” Sulli blush when she thought back to what happen moments ago when she was getting on the bus and got kissed. Kai notice her face turning red and stop. “Did something really happen? Tell me.” Sulli shook her head and escape Kai’s grasps and took a few steps ahead of him and look back at him as she started running up the hill.

“Kai ah, I’ll tell you if you beat me to school~” Sulli shouts back laughing. “If not, you have to buy me lunch today!” She runs off ahead smiling.

“Yah!” Kai points at her and started off behind her. “You’re cheating, get back here! This is not a fair race.”

“Whoever says it fair?” Sulli retorted back and stick out her tongue at him without stopping.

Sulli patted her stomach and slouch down on in her seat. A happy and delight smile form across her face. “So full~”

“Is this how a girl supposes to act like in front of a guy?” Kai ask. He pulls a chair out from in front of her desk seated him-self on it. Kai rest his elbow on the desk with his hand supporting his head up as he gaze at her. Sulli turn her attention to her friend.

“Neh, Jongin ah.” Sulli moves closer to him. So close that their face were about five inches away from his. “So what made you decide to pay for lunch? I lost the race and yet you’re not asking me to answer your question.” Kai couldn’t help but stare at her big pretty eyes and then at her pink lips. He shallow hard. He could feel his face burning looking this close at her. He quickly turns away.

“N-no reason. I don’t really care for the question and plus you’re too skinny; you will never get a boyfriend if you’re skin and bones.” Kai lied. Sulli was perfect the way she was. He knew that Sulli have been eating less and also skipping breakfast. Her older brothers have been asked him to make sure that she ate. He also know Sulli since they were kids and he knows that Sulli doesn’t like it when people pity her.

Sulli narrow her eyes at him and pouts angrily at what he said. “I don’t need a boyfriend who cares only about looks then.” Sulli turned away from him. Kai was astonish at her reaction to what he said and chuckle at how cutely she was acting. He wanted to apologize to her, that it wasn’t want he meant to say when the teacher came in and interrupts.

“Kai, I believe you should go back to your seat now. Class is about to start.” The teacher said to him. Kai quickly got up from his seat and move to the other side of the classroom and sat down in his seat. He’ll apologize to her later he told himself.

As the teacher starts the class lecture, Sulli search her book bag for a pencil. She opens the top zipper to reveal an envelope. She took it out and realizes that it was the letter that she had received that morning which reminds her again about the kiss with the cat eye boy earlier. She shook her head trying to erase the image out of her head. That shocking ‘incident’ had almost made her forget to read the important letter. Sulli quickly open the letter and start reading it.

            Princess,

            How have you been? It’s been a while since we send each other letters. I am sorry, for not replying to your letter sooner. I hope you are not disappointed in me. But, I am glad to hear that you got accepted to the high school of your choice. So, don’t give up half-way and finish school. When I read what you wrote about your brother…Yonghwa was it? I couldn’t help but laugh. Is he really that terrible at cooking? You seem to have a really good brothers to cook for you. I wish I could be there for you like them, but since we live far away from each other, it’s impossible. I hope that one day we’ll get to meet face to face soon, so we don’t have to write back and forth like this anymore. I think I’m running out of space to write so, I’ll stop here. Ah, before I end this….

You ask if I ever had a boyfriend. My answer is no. I never have a boyfriend, because I rather have a girlfriend since I’m a guy.

“Girlfriend?” Sulli tries to think it through at what she just read. “Angel is…a boy?” a smile form across her face and she laugh quietly to herself. All this time, she have thought that Angel was a girl, actually turn out to be a boy instead.

“I’m home~” Sulli said as she enters in her house and close the door behind her. She took off her shoes and slip into a pair of pink slippers. Sulli walk into the living room to see a person with blonde hair  sitting on the couch with his back to her. Sulli smile to herself. “Oppa must be home.” She quietly whispers. She quietly creep behind him and slowly reach out her hands and covers his eyes. “Guess who~?” There was no answer. Sulli was confused. Usually her oppa will quickly answer her.

“Ah, Ssul, your home.” A voice said coming from another direction coming into the room. “Did you skip lunch toda-” he stops as notice what was going on in the room.

“Heechul oppa?” Sulli said as she sees her big brother standing across the room from her. “If you’re over there this who-” Sulli quickly remove her hand from the stranger and quickly took a few steps back. The stranger stood up and turns his attention to her.

Heechul quickly walk over to him and hand him a mug. “This is my little sister Sulli. Sorry, she might have mistaken you for me, since before I left my hair was also blonde.” Heechul ties to explain to the guest.

“I’m sorry.” Sulli quickly apologizes to the guest lowering her head. She was too embarrassed to look at him. “I made a mistake. I gonna go up to my room now.” Sulli quickly turns around and head to up the stairs covering her face with her hands.

“Ssul ah. Wait!” Heechul calls after his little sister. But Sulli has already enters in her room and close the door shut. Heechul sigh and took a sip from the mug he was holding. “Sorry again, she usually doesn’t-”

“No, it’s alright.” The guest smile, he let out a little laugh before taking a sip of his mug. He looks up the stairs where Sulli have disappeared off to. “She’s actually very cute.”

In her room, Sulli had buried her head under her pillow on her bed. She felt very embarrass to have mistake a guest as her brother. She felt like she should just kill herself to save her the embarrassment she just made herself look to a stranger. After a few minute, Sulli finally removed the pillow from her head and sat up. She held her knees to her chest as she rests her head on it. She was thinking about the day she was having. First, she got her first kiss taken away by a cute cat eye stranger. Next, finding out that Angel is actually a guy. And now, now she had mistaken someone else as her brother.

 “Why are all these things happening in one day?” Sulli ask herself.

Sulli slowly got out of her bed and walk over to balcony window. She opens the window and walk out to the balcony. She needed some fresh air to clam her mind. Ssul place her hand on the rail closing her eyes and took some deep breath,. “I feel a little better now, I guess.” She smiles as she watches the sky turning a blue-ish purple and orange color.

“Hello….it’s nice….to see you…again?” a voice said from nearby. Sulli recognized the voice. It was the same soft voice from the cat eye boy that kissed her. She quickly looks around to see where it was coming from when someone finally caught her attention from the corner of her right eye. Her head slowly turns to the person. “Welcome…home.” He said smiling sweetly at her.

Sulli eyes widen. It was really the cat eye boy that took her first kiss. “Y-you live next door?”

He didn’t say anything, but smile at her.

Oh gosh, I'm very happy to see that I already have some readers already, lol. I was suprise, when I login to see that this story already have some subscribers when I just post the foreword. This made me very happy. I actually was planning to post this first chapter tomorrow, but since there are many awaited readers already. I decide to post it today.

Oh, yeah. I'm not a chinese speaker, so I use the chinese romaji from google translater. So I'm not even sure if it's right. so just don't mind it, if I have any chinese speaker.  I know I fail. OTL ...heheh..
