Chapter Three

Hyunjae’s POV

Annyeong, my name is Im Hyunjae. 17 years old and a second year high school student who belongs to Class 2-A. I am the daughter of the chairman of Hwang-Geum Jangmi Academy. I know what you’re thinking right? I am someone who is a good role model to everyone

In front of everyone, I am a girl who is known to be smart, talented. Someone who has poise and charisma… Someone who is straightforward and is really brave. Someone who helps those who are weak whenever they are in trouble, I am someone who is admired by almost everyone but…

The truth is, I am a scaredy-cat. I am the opposite of a straight-forward and strong girl. Everything is just an act to protect my image and so that I won’t ruin my father’s image.

The only ones who know the real side of me is my older brother (the school counselor) and my best friend, Eunmi but… just recently, this transfer student found out my secret and now…

“Good Morning Hyunjae-ssi” “Lovely morning isn’t it?” –students

“MINHYUN OPPA!” “Look, it’s Hyunjae-ssi’s body guard” –students

“Morning” –Minhyun said as he approached Hyunjae

“G-Good Morning” –Hyunjae replied

Hwang Minhyun, the transfer student who found out about my real side. From the view of others, he is my bodyguard but it is actually the exact opposite. He told me that he will not spill my secret if I become ‘his’ or in other words, servant. He is really mean and rude and he often hits me if I cry or if I make stupid faces. He’s really not gentle at all and he says that girls who cry are annoying. He’s a big meanie and he likes to make fun of me! But… I still can’t understand why a lot of girls are so into him… maybe it’s because he’s famous? Well, he also has good looks and according to others, he’s smart too. Hmmm…

THIRD PERSON POV:

Minhyun suddenly hit her on the head “Yah! What was that for (>o<)” she cried. “You were staring at me in a way that I was suspicious” Minhyun responded “Hmm, I was wondering why…” Hyunjae said as she continued to look at him “Why what?” Minhyun responded

“You’re mean, you say that girls are annoying when they cry, you’re rood, you treat me as a servant, it’s like you’re the ultimate torture king or something yet why… WHY ARE GIRLS SO INTO YOU?” Hyunjae asked
“Oh, that (¬_¬) isn’t it pretty obvious? They only like me because I’m famous and I have the looks” Minhyun responded “I knew it” Hyunjae mumbled to herself “You know, for someone who doesn’t know how to talk bad about people, you sure talked bad about me” said Minhyun
“What? I wasn’t talking bad about you, I was telling the truth” Hyunjae responded and it irritated Minhyun “Hmmm (¬_¬)” Minhyun said then he pinched her cheeks “Go back to your fake self you fool, we’re almost at the classroom!” he added then he walked ahead “Ouch, that hurt (╯︵╰,)” Hyunjae cried then she followed,

When they arrived at the classroom, “GOOD MORNING HYUNJAE-SSI, MINHYUN-SSI” the students greeted and the two went (.___.?) then

“Ah, the princess and her body guard are here” Eunmi said and they noticed that Ren was wiped out “What happened to him? Hyunjae asked “Oh, I chased him all night long. He ran so fast that I couldn’t catch up to him but then I did and I beat him up for calling me girl-guy ^^v” Eunmi replied
“I-I see (-.-||)” Hyunjae responded

“Hey Ren, you okay?” Minhyun said as he went near Ren “M-Minhyun? I-I’m sorry, I couldn’t...geh” Ren said then he passed out “Stupid guy should be more manly!” Eunmi proclaimed “And you should be more girly” Minhyun reacted “Shut up you torture king!” Eunmi responded.

                During lunch time, Eunmi and Hyunjae went to the cafeteria to eat their lunch. While they were eating, Eunmi told Hyunjae what happened while she was chasing Ren  and after she told the whole story “That punk, even though he got beaten up by me he still calls me a ‘girl-guy’ I don’t mind being called with names but the way he calls me is just the worst! (=_=)” Eunmi proclaimed “Yeah…” Hyunjae agreed “What the heck is a girl-guy anyway?”

“So how are things between you and torture king? It’s been three days and yet it seems like you’ve gotten hit by him for dozens of times” said Eunmi “He truly is a torture king, he never shows mercy to me. Yesterday he even took my diary from me” said Hyunjae “Eh? Your diary?” Eunmi wondered “My diary…” Hyunjae said then “GAAAAAAAH!” she proclaimed as she stood up and everyone turned to her “U-Uh, sorry about that guys. I was dozing off and Eunmi suddenly played a little trick on me, go back to your usual things and don’t mind me ^^” she said and the students continued what they were doing

“Eunmi, I forgot to ask him to return my diary to me. NOOOOOOOOO!!!! (TT [] TT)” Hyunjae cried “Don’t worry, we’ll ask him later when we get back to the classroom. Besides, seems like he’s busy with his fans” said Eunmi and Hyunjae nodded her head.

After Eunmi and Hyunjae ate, they went back to their classrooms and when they arrived there, they saw Minhyun and Ren. As usual, they were surrounded by a lot of girls but when Hyunjae would go near them, the girls will suddenly leave. When Hyunjae arrived at her seat, the girls suddenly spread out

“Uh?” she wondered “Wow, you’re like a bug spray to them” Minhyun said and she gave him a glare “Well that’s good news for us anyway” he added then “Hey seatmate Hyunjae, how was lunch?” Ren asked “Umm, it was okay?” Hyunjae replied “I see, good thing that girl-guy Eunmi didn’t do anything mean to you” said Ren “Well that’s because Eunmi and I are friends” Hyunjae responded “Still… I really dislike her (=3=)” Ren pouted

Hyunjae remembered her diary then he turned to Minhyun “Hey” she said “What?” Minhyun responded “My diary” she added “Uh?” Minhyun wondered then he grinned

“Oh no, he’s grinning (=.=)”Hyunjae thought “Hey, give me back my diary” she said “Hmm, so you’re on ‘fake’ mode, interesting” Minhyun said then he looked outside the window but he was still grinning “Hey! I said my-”

“I heard what you said you snobby little princess!” Minhyun proclaimed as he kicked the desk and stood up. He looked at Hyunjae and it seems like he was pretty mad.

Hyunjae whited out on the inside when she knew that Minhyun was mad but on the outside, she remained to look tough “D-Darn it, how should I respond? I think I’m going to cry (T_T) he’s way too scary for me (>.<)” she thought to herself then

“Oh? Are you going to cry?” Minhyun said as he went near her and grabbed her by the shirt. It really made Hyunjae cry inside and her other classmates were also starting to get worried

“H-Hey Hwang Minhyun, you shouldn’t yell at Hyunjae like that” “Yeah, even though she is the chairman’s daughter and you’re so against her but she is still a girl” “That’s right, take it easy”

“Girl? This person tries to act tough but is actually a coward!” Minhyun proclaimed and it shocked Hyunjae the most “W-What the? I thought he wasn’t going to tell?” Hyunjae thought

“Hey Hwang Minhyun, that’s enough already!” Eunmi proclaimed but Minhyun ignored her. He was focused on Hyunjae who was avoiding exchanging stares with him “Tch, piece of trash” he said then he pushed Hyunjae away

“What the? Is Hwang Minhyun really a guy?” “He’s so mean!” “Tch, I’ll never look up tp him again”

Minhyun was about to leave the classroom but then “Oi Hwang Minhyun!” he heard an angry voice call him, he looked back and saw a really angry Hyunjae. He smirked and faced her “Yea?” he said “You’re a real jerk you know that! How dare you say I am a coward? I am Im Hyunjae, daughter of this school’s chairman and I am not a coward! GOT THAT!?” she proclaimed

“Loud and clear” Minhyun responded. Minhyun noticed that Hyunjae gathered up a lot of courage to tell him that while Hyunjae felt a lite feeling after yelling at Minhyun
“W-What’s this? Why is it so lite?” she asked herself then “Im Hyunjae, after school meet me at the rooftop” he said and Hyunjae went (O___O) inside then Minhyun faced the others

“Anyone who comes to the rooftop besides me or princess over here, I will throw them to the sea. GOT THAT!?” he proclaimed, the others saw a very dark and scary aura that they agreed to him immediately but “Hmm, I can swim so I guess I’ll check them out. Hihihihihi” Eunmi said to herself then she turned to Ren “Hey airhead, let’s go check them out” she said “Eh? No way! Minhyun’s the scariest when he’s angry so there’s no way I would want to check them out” Ren responded “Tch, coward” Eunmi mumbled and Ren gave her a glare.

Hyunjae was starting to feel scared inside because Minhyun looked really serious but at the same time, she felt like something wasn’t right. Moments later, the teacher arrived and they went to their seats. During class, Hyunjae wasn’t able to concentrate well because she was thinking of what Minhyun might do to her at the rooftop

**Hyunjae’s imagination**

“Maybe he’ll put me in a pot and boil me to death and after that, he’ll feed me to the dogs? Or maybe he’ll put me inside a box and send me to the North Pole? Or maybe he’ll tie me to a rocket ship that’s heading towards the sun? Omo, I am so dead (TT______TT)”

                4 hours later, class ended and the classroom was very quiet. Every student wanted to go to the rooftop but they couldn’t for Minhyun warn them about going there. Hyunjae felt nervous, she was still sitting down on her seat and was afraid to move but then

“Hey let’s go” Minhyun said, Hyunjae looked at him and he was still wearing a scary look “(TT___TT) save me Eunmi” she cried in her thoughts as she turned to Eunmi but Eunmi just gave her a thumbs up. Hyunjae released a sigh and stood up then she and Minhyun exited the room

“A duel?” “Between the Hyunjae-ssi and Hwang Minhyun?” “I want to watch but I don’t want to get thrown to the sea by Hwang Minhyun” “Yeah, he’s scary” “But I think our class rep will win” “Yeah2x, Hwang Minhyun is just a transfer student and needs to be taught a lesson by our class rep” “Go Hyunjae-ssi” “Go Minhyun oppa”

“Idiots, they’re cheering for nothing (-_-)” Eunmi mumbled.

                In Hyunjae’s case, when she and Minhyun arrived at the rooftop, Minhyun closed the door and locked it to make sure that no one enters or no one will see them. Hyunjae prepared herself for the things that Minhyun might do to her and when Minhyun faced her, he smirked and walked towards her

“Shoot, he didn’t even let me give my last words (TT___TT)”Hyunjae said in her thoughts. She shut her eyes closed and waited for Minhyun to punch her or something but then, she felt something being placed on top of her head.

She opened her eyes and suddenly blushed seeing Minhyun giving her a smile and he was only a few inch near her “First Test: Passed” he said “E-Eh? Test?” Hyunjae wondered. She got a hold of what Minhyun placed on top of her and it was her diary

“My diary!” she beamed then she turned to him “By test, you mean…” “A while ago, I wanted to test you if you would suddenly break into pieces and easily cry. I was being extra mean and it seems like you’ve passed” said Minhyun “S-So it was a test? You weren’t mad?” Hyunjae asked “Idiot, how can I be mad over something stupid? In fact, I got mad for no reason. Don’t you think it’s stupid?”

“Uh, that’s right. I didn’t realize it right away because I was so afraid of you” Hyunjae mumbled then “I also read every content of your diary and looks like we have a lot of training to do so you better expect more of those surprise test coming okay?” Minhyun said “A-Alright!” Hyunjae proclaimed

“Good, I’ll be going ahead now, see ya tomorrow” Minhyun said as he was about to leave but then “W-Wait!” Hyunjae stopped him and he turned to her “T-Thanks… for the help” she said. Minhyun smirked and then he pinched her cheeks really hard

“Of course I would help. Besides, a dog must be trained to be just like his master. How can a strong and courageous master like me have a cowardly dog like you?” he said “S-Such a torture king (TT___TT) I’m not his servant anymore but more likely his dog (TT_TT)” Hyunjae cried in her thoughts

“Well, see ya” Minhyun said then he left. Hyunjae blushed as she held her diary next to her chest, she didn’t know why but she felt really happy inside despite that fact that he called her his dog.

She decided to sit down and write on her diary “Oh how I miss you even though you were only gone for the whole night~” she said as she opened her diary. She was about to write but then she noticed some writings inside that weren’t hers

“NO WAY!? THAT IDIOT WROTE ON MY DIARY!?” she proclaimed, she was about to call Minhyun but then she received a text message

From: Hwang Minhyun
“Before you over react and call me, read what I’ve written on your diary first”

“Uh” she said then she released a sigh and started reading what Hwang Minhyun wrote

Servant/Dog,

                I’ve finished reading the stuff that you wrote here and I have to say, you write pretty useless stuff. While I was reading, I felt like I want to burn your diary or send it to outer space. It was really stupid. You wrote about your fears, worries and sometimes about love2x. It pissed me off while I was reading and I wanted to throw up but…

What you wrote were your real feelings. You wrote what you really felt, there were no lies, no tricks. It was nothing fake, it was really YOU. A reason why I couldn’t throw it away or burn it or send it to outer space is because such diary belongs to one who is true to herself and I have to say, I give you a thumbs up and it motivated me to help you become stronger that way, you won’t have to act as if you are strong but you get to show people that YOU REALLY ARE STRONG, not as an act but as the real you.

From now on, I will be writing in this diary of yours as well. YOU CANNOT OPPOSE TO THAT BECAUSE I WILL SEND YOU TO OUTER SPACE IF YOU DO and…

Because I told you before that we will be sharing secrets. It’ll be unfair if you share some secrets of your own to me but I won’t share you mine so we will be using this diary to tell each other’s secrets. Okay? I’m not good with talking so let’s just write. Also, if you have something that you want to ask me but couldn’t ask me in person, then write here. Okay?

Well I hope this is clear to you, again, DO NOT OPPOSE YOUR MASTER!

“Uh, heh” Hyunjae smiled then she noticed something written on the last line

P.S. Don’t lie to me that you don’t like Jung Daehyun, the Student Council Pres. I also read what you wrote about him and if you lie to me, I’ll show him what you’ve written. I have a copy of it. >:)

Hyunjae went (O____O) “E-E-EVIL BASTARD!” she cried.

                The next morning, when the students saw Hyunjae and Minhyun walking together, they were forming in groups and whispering to each other

“They fought yesterday, right?” “I even heard that it was a bloody battle in the rooftop (though no one saw it)” suddenly, Hyunjae punched the wall and they turned to her with shocked faces

“Don’t tell people stories as if you guys knew what was happening. What happened between me and my body guard is none of your business, got that!?” she proclaimed and the students kept quiet, after that she continued her way. Minhyun turned to them and smirked at them then he followed.

“D-Did you see that?” “He smirked at us” “He’s so cool” “I wish he was my body guard!”

When the two arrived at their classroom, all of the students turned to them and it became quiet “What? Why is the atmosphere here so tense?” Hyunjae said “W-Well that’s because we’re afraid if the two of you fight again” one student replied “Uh? *smile* don’t worry. Yesterday we had an misunderstanding and it was my fault why Hwang Minhyun got mad but now, we’re okay and he still agreed to become my body guard so don’t worry you guys” Hyunjae said “Really?” the student asked “Really” Hyunjae responded then she smiled at her and the atmosphere went back to the normal.

When Hyunjae arrived at her seat “Hey” Minhyun said and she turned to him, she went (O_O) realizing that he was glaring at her “Even though to the public I am your body guard, don’t forget that you are my servant/dog” he said as he sounded a bit irritated “Y-Yeah, n-no problem about that one” Hyunjae responded then she looked away “Scary as usual (>.<) but… *remembers what Minhyun wrote in her diary* I’m glad that it was him who found out anyway” she said in her thoughts and she smiled then

“Po~ke” Ren said as he poked Hyunjae’s cheeks “Eh?” Hyunjae wondered as she turned to him, “You’re smiling seatmate Hyunjae, did something good happen?” Ren asked “Ah, yes ^^” Hyunjae replied “I see *smile* that’s good ^^” Ren said “I’m glad that things turned out okay with you and Minhyun” he added

“Such a cute kid ^‿^ though nothing did happen between me and that torture king” Hyunjae said to herself suddenly

“Hyunjae!” one of their classmates suddenly yelled out her name as he entered the room “Uh?” everyone turned to him “Hyunjae, it’s bad! Eunmi, she’s at the courtyard and is in a fight!” the guy added

“WHAT!?” Hyunjae proclaimed
