The Beginning

After practising for the y, Free, and Single promotions, Siwon plopped down back on the couch and sighed. He quickly fished his phone and opened his SNS accounts, quickly reading the latest news on his Twitter feed and the different world issues that semeed to worsen each day. With a frown on his face, he scrolled further down and saw a filmesque picture of him and the other Super Junior members. He quickly pressed the retweet button and was reminded of one of his favourite bible verses,

'John 15:12-13, My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.'

Surely, every bible verse is bound to be his favourite one but that verse just really struck him. Friendship was one of the saving graces of being an idol. s, no matter how rowdy or disagreeable they could be at times, were people he considered as siblings and family.

Back to reading his daily news feed, Siwon's eyes glanced unto one of the promoted articles on the net. Catching his attention, his fingers quickly played on the video embedded. It loaded for a while before the familiar tune played.

Siwon was quickly hit with a wave of nostalgia as he recognized the sound playing in front of him. How could he forget, they had just finished promoting their album now. The one and only So Nyeo Shi Dae and their hit EP, Hoot

He wanted to say that he treated these girls like younger sisters and really, he does— for most of them. The way his eyes were glued onto the screen, intently watching the girl with the slicked back hazelnut hair and black one piece told something else. It not-so-subtlely hinted that maybe the uptight, oh-so-ever gentleman Choi Siwon had a crush.

'Damn, she's really prett—'

He nearly jumped out of his own skin when a hand landed on his shoulder.

"Oh? What's this? The Siwon Choi is watching SNSD by himself?" Eunhyuk's voice was so obviously dripping with sarcasm that Siwon would've strangled him then and there if he was less of a man. Still, he wasn't, and shortly most of the members present were flocking over to witness just what Siwon was claiming for himself.

"Share it on TV, we want to see it too!" Left with no choice, Siwon casted the video and almost spat out his coffee when it was paused exactly on a particular member’s solo scene. Though he had already backed it up in a split second, the other men in the room were quick (as always) to send him a teasing look and some wiggling eyebrows.

"You really think you're so slick, hyung. C'mon, we all know why you're watching this video." Kyuhyun quipped. Everyone else laughed at the remark.

After years of knowing one another and interacting with the girl group, it would be impossible to miss the difference in the way Siwon looked at the pink-loving girl. From stolen glances to small talks, he tried to do the best to catch up with her in the little amount of free time both groups had. Yet, whenever he was asked about it, Siwon would always reply that it was just him looking out for their hoobaes.

“Well then why is it only her that you treat that way?” Yesung asked one time out of curiosity.

The spine-chilling glare that was sent his way made sure that he never asked such a thing again.

“5 years and you’re still only watching her from the sidelines?” Leeteuk snickered. “Do you know how many hearts you’ve broken because you rejected them for someone you dare to call ‘a small crush’? Aish, this boy… You’re really something else.”

Siwon looked him straight in the eyes. “I didn’t reject anyone for liking someone else, I rejected them because I’m busy.”

“Busy with what? Ogling at Tiffany-sshi?” Donghae said, smirking slightly.

“Look at Donghae, he admitted to Jessica and she slapped him at first but now they've been together for 3 years. Happily, surprisingly.” Eunhyuk said. The subject in question gave him a slap on the forehead. “Aish, that hurt!”

It took no time at all before they were already arguing with one another. Everyone was occupied in proving their own petty points, seemingly forgetting about who was the main point of the topic in the first place.

Siwon sighed and took a seat at the back, tired with all the kinds of shenanigans that his other members were up to. And in the midst of all the chaos, however, only one thing was able to calm his heart.

Ahh… He’d never get tired of that smile.

It was an entire month and a half since that eventful day at the practice rooms. Their comeback has been a massive success, and the entirety of Super Junior was taking a well deserved break in their own means.

While others were taking vacations somewhere, filming solo projects, or staying at houses of their own, four members were quietly spending an uneventful afternoon at the premises of their own dorm.

“Kyu, where did you put the radishes again?!” Ryeowook screamed from the kitchen.

It was normal like this. He was pretty sure that their neighbours were already desensitised at their noise after living there for more than a decade. Still, Kyuhyun couldn’t help but wince every time one of his hyungs would shout as if they were separated by a mountain.

“It’s on the second layer, right next to the kimchi.” He then went back to watching whatever was on TV.

Bored as heck, he picked up his phone and started scrolling on his social media sites. Though he doesn't like posting or interacting much, he still makes sure to check on the latest posts of his friends as well as whatever gossip may be happening. He was busy reading the latest political scandal when someone came out of one of their rooms and appeared at the corner of his eyes.

He almost dropped his phone at the sight.

“What the are you wearing?!” Kyuhyun bursted out laughing like a maniac when Donghae appeared in front of him in a hip cropped blazer with matching suit pants and the leather shoes he always saves for only the most prestigious events. His black hair was perfectly sculpted, and Kyuhyun was sure that the man used at least two containers of hair gel to achieve it.

“Oh, this?” He smugly turned around and flaunted off his fit. “I’m going on a date with the love of my life later.”

His eyes almost bursted out of its sockets. Kyuhyun couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “Holy– when did you start pulling yourself together like that? Also, since when did you learn to call Jessica-sshi those cringy lines? You're crazy.”

“Really? I worked hard on this fit, especially on the hair.”

Kyuhyun shooed the pout on Donghae’s lips and clicked his tongue. “You’re disgusting, get out of my sight.”

Hearing the commotion, another voice joined in the conversation. “Hey Donghae, when do you plan on going out again with Jessica-sshi?” Eunhyuk asked, coming out of his own room seemingly unbothered by Donghae’s getup.

“Not soon because she’s busy promoting with the girls. I heard they’re preparing for another comeback.”

“Already? Anyways, I have an idea…” The trio couldn’t help but prepare for the worst upon hearing the statement. Ideas don’t often come good with their group, especially when it’s from Eunhyuk. It practically meant doom.

“Ever heard of having a double date?” He asked with a smirk on his lips.

“If you’re asking me to bring you with us, the answer is no.” Donghae quickly snapped back.

“No you idiot! I’m talking about…” Eunhyuk’s hands twisted and gestured unknown shapes, his eyes also eyeing the side, as if someone would be out to get him the minute he’d say another word.

Ryeowook, who was witnessing everything from the kitchen counter, shouted.“I’m sick of playing your games, just spill whatever it is!”

“I’m just saying… Maybe you can take our beloved saint on a date with— I don’t know, another member of Jessica-sshi’s group?” He finished the sentence with a sinister smirk, scanning the crowd making sure they finally got whatever he was up to.

A small chorus of ‘Ahh…’s echoed throughout the living space. In less than a second, all present members were huddled together on the couch, even Ryeowook who was in the middle of preparing food put aside his apron to listen intently to the scheme the others were preparing.

Kyuhyun, for the first time, smirked and agreed with Eunhyuk’s seemingly outrageous idea. “You’re a genius. If he doesn’t make a move, we’ll do it for him.”

“I’m so tired of seeing him practically do those eyes whenever she’s around and far from him. He literally acts like a wet puppy.” Eunhyuk shivered at the thought of Siwon obliviously acting childish. “Doesn’t suit him, at all.”

“Glad we all agree on that.” Ryeowook chided in.

“Okay, so that’s the plan, but how are we going to make them both agree to join us? Jessica-sshi’s gotta know about this or else its never gonna work.” Kyuhyun said.

There was a brief moment of silence before Donghae suddenly laughed. He clapped his hands and opened his phone. “Don’t worry, I got this.”

For the second time that day, the members of Super Junior shivered in fear at the suggestion of their teammate.
