As the SAT was drawing closer and closer, the tension in the air surrounding the third years was hard to go unnoticed. Club activities stopped for the seniors and study halls opened till as late as 1am. Almost everyone was busy burying their head in books. Almost because I wasn’t. I couldn’t.
“Yeol,” Woohyun began without even looking up from his notes. “You’re distracting me.”
I continued rocking the chair to and fro. “I am so bored.”
“I need to focus.”
I put my fingers together into a rectangle in front of my eye and peered at Woohyun from it. “You’re plenty sharp, hyun.” He sighed at my low level pun but ignored me all the same. “Ah, when’s Hoya coming? That guy sure is taking forever.”
As someone who also has a short attention span when it comes to studying, Howon is my perfect go to “study” buddy. With us, every 30 minutes of hitting the books would entail an equivalent or even longer break.
10 days to D-day and the atmosphere somehow got more somber but Howon and I continued behaving like giggly teenage girls although I probably played the part more. We never had high aims like SKY as those were definitely
