Chapter 6 - Rollercoaster

From red to black then baby blue

Chapter 6

He found out where she lived, awkwardly pacing up and down the main corridor. He contemplated weather to knock on her door or not.

Suddenly, the door opened.

"Come in, I could hear you pacing up and down. It was disturbing my baby "

She stated leaving the door open for him to come in.

Gulping he walked in.

The house was simple, nothing fancy. She was in the kitchen as she shouted,

"Sit on the sofa."

Obediently he sat, on the opposite couch, lay the baby.

Smiling softly, he approached the him. This small human was the cause of his heartbreak. She had moved on.

Sitting on the floor near the baby, he his head.

The baby opened his eyes.

And giggled. Rubbing the baby's tummy, he wanted to cry. She wouldn't come back now. She couldn't.

"Here's some tea."

His Wife entered the living room placing a cup of tea on the table.

"I'll sign the papers."

He stated staring at the baby, his fingers gently the child’s cheeks.

"There's no chance of you coming back to me anyway."

He sighed playing with the tiny human’s feet.

"Live your life well."

He stated before standing up and leaving the house.

Furrowed her brows, holding up her baby she gave him a kiss.

"Your daddy's a weird one."

She mumbled.

Her baby then pouted before giggling.

"Just like you."

She added before nuzzling his belly.

------------------

"I just have to sign here and it's over. "

He mumbled staring at the paper.

Suddenly someone barged into his room.

"What are you doing? Still moping around!"

Jongin looked up to his Mother.

"I was just going to sign the divorce papers."

He sighed.

"What! You're giving up now?"

"She's not coming back. "

"Oh honey. She may."

"She won't I know for a fact."

Taking a seat his Mother questioned.

"And how are you so sure? "

"She has a baby. I met her the other day."

Mrs Kim froze. She couldn't believe it. She may not have been on good terms with her Daughter in law but she knew that So Hee was a loyal girl. After all the crap she put her through so Hee had remained by jongins side. Now that she thought about it, so Hee was a great Wife.

She knew so Hee wouldn't have had a child with someone else. Unless ... the kid was jongins’.

Glancing at her crestfallen Son, he clearly didn't think so . But he had always been on the dense side.

"Do you have a picture of the baby? "

"Why would I? He's not mine anyway."

He mumbled sadly.

Mrs Kim resisted the urge to roll her eyes, her son was so dumb.

"Go talk to her maybe you'll be able to figure something out"

Jongin was already on his knees when the door opened.

Head hung low, he placed his shaking hands on his knees.

"So Hee ... c-come back to me ...p-please. I'm begging you."

His shoulders shook as he began sobbing.

"I was wrong, forgive me."

He apologised as he looked up, tears trailing down his cheeks. Jongin was a mess, he was on the verge of wailing.

"I-i can't do it ... I can't sign the papers ... I need you. I'm desperate. I'll even raise your kid as my own ..."

He promised as he nodded his head to reassure her.

Disappointed with no reaction, he sighed.

"So, So Hee. C-come back home .... please."

At that moment the door slammed shut, his heart shattered.

She was not coming back.

---------------

So Hee her sons head as he slept in the baby carrier.

When the elevator reached her floor, she walked out careful not to wake him up.

Squinting her eyes, she saw a man kneeling in front of her Neighbour’s house.

Eekkk poor Neighbour must be having relationship issues.

Wanting to escape the awkward situation, she tried to reach her door quickly.

However, her Neighbours door opened before she could even reach hers.

"So Hee come back to me

So Hee froze ... jongin.

She stared at the kneeling man. it was her idiot of a Husband.

There he was confessing and sobbing to her neighbor, as the eighty-year old man stared at her.

She wanted to crawl in a hole and die.

Jongin was drunk. She was two doors away and could smell the alcohol on him.

When it seemed like his speech was over, the elderly man raised an eyebrow at her before slamming the door shut.

As it shut she could her Husband look completely defeated.

He was wailing.

Oh my how embarrassing.

Before he could annoy any more of her neighbours she quickly entered the house placing the baby in his baby chair.

Rushing back out she realised that jongin had passed out on the floor.

So Hee didn’t know if she should laugh or cry as she dragged him into her house.

Unable to place him on the sofa, she placed a pillow under his head and pulled a blanket over him.

Sighing she brushed his bangs out of his face.

Jongin looked haggard, he had lost some weight and his eye bags were severe.

Suddenly baby noises came from the side of the room.

So Hee grinned.

“Sorry my angel mummy had to drag this thing into the house.”

She quickly unlocked the safety belts from the chair and carried the chubby human.

“Let’s get you cleaned up! “

She cheered as he began clapping.

So Hee walked to the bathroom, in her arms the only thing that helps keep her sanity.

——————————————

When so Hee woke up the next morning she almost tripped over the dead looking man in the living room.

Squeaking, she regained her balance and entered the kitchen.

Grabbing the coffee powder from her shelf she began brewing coffee.

As she poured the coffee into a thermos flask she heard a loud thump from the living followed by a loud groan.

Closing the lid, she immediately rushed to the living room.

There he was her idiot of a husband clutching onto his forehead after hitting it on her coffee table.

She could hear him silently cursing.

“Good morning sunshine. Slept well? “

She snorted.

Jongin whipped his head to face the door.

“So Hee?”

He mumbled.

Raising her eyebrow, she nodded.

“I thought you kicked me out. I swear the door slammed close.”

His brows furrowed.

“You’re really courageous. Confessing your love to an eighty-year-old man. It was quite a scene.”

She replied smirking.

Jongin gasped.

“Kill me now.”

“Mr Lee looked petrified.”

Jongin groaned slamming his head onto the glass table.

“Wait does that mean you wi-“

Jongin suddenly looked up his eyes shining before getting cut off by a babie’s cries.

“There’s coffee in the kitchen.”

So Hee shouted as she ran off.

Jongin pouted as he walked to the kitchen.

Sitting on one of the stools he sighed, the world was against him. He didn’t know if so Hee had forgiven him or not. Worse, he didn’t know if she could even come back.

Pouring himself a cup of coffee he brianstormed for ways to ask his Wife to come back.

Why not be shameless? he had nothing else to lose.

“Jongin can you help me drag over the highchair.”

Jumping slightly Jongins ideas flew out the window as he quickly carried the highchair next to his Wife.

“Thank you.”

So Hee mumbled as she placed the baby on the seat.

Jongin sighed as the adorable human being pouted in his highchair.

The boy wiggled in his seat as so Hee prepared his milk.

Facing Jongin, the baby held out his hands as if asking jongins for his .

Smiling slightly he let the kid play with his fingers. His soft tiny ones prodding at his large rough hand.

The baby giggled as so Hee carried him placing the bottle to his lips.

On her face was the familiar warm smile Jong in loved.

Standing there was Jong ins dreams come true, his beautiful wife happily holding their child. The only problem; the kid wasn’t his.

“What’s his name?”

“Beom is his nickname because he screamed like a tiger when he came out.”

So Hee replied as she burped the baby.

“So Hee I know I’ve been pestering you but are you comin-“

“Jongin let’s go on a date.”

She smiled causing Jong In to freeze.

Chapter 12: I'm happy Sohee came back to him. And an epilogue would be nice! Maybe some family time and a scene with Jongin's mother in it. I want her to meet her grandson :( What she did to Sohee and the family is horrible.
