Chapter 9

A month had passed since Jongin had decided to let so Hee go.

It doesn’t mean his heart wasn’t broken.

It doesn’t mean he stopped missing her.

It doesn’t mean he stopped loving her.

He knew that she was Long gone.

She was on the brink on insanity when she left and she was still trying to get herself back together .

He sighed whenever he thought of her.

Whatever happened to the cheerful and optimistic lady he fell in love with?

It was as if she lost herself her eyes void her mind wandering.

It was all his fault.

Sniffing he remembered her empty expression when he said goodbye.

“Here . “

Jongin slipped a brown envelope across the table to so Hee .

“It’s the divorce papers . They’re fully filled , I finally signed them. “

He sniffed.

“I c-can’t bring myself to pass it to the lawyer. I would love for you to come back but if this is what you want I’ll do it . It’s up to you if you want to pass it to the Lawyers. I’ll accept it .”

Taking in a deep breath he added . He could feel his eyes b with tears .

“I’m letting you go .”

He whispered .

“I’m sorry so Hee . I love you .”

With one last sad smiled he got off and walked out of the restaurant .

Straight after , Jongin accepted his fathers offer to work in the Japanese branch for a month.

After landing in Korea all he could think about was so Hee .

He had drowned himself with work , working himself to the bone .

He didn’t have time to mope around before being whisked off to another meeting .

The last thing Jongin wanted to do was return to his sterile apartment .

The thought of it made him sigh .

Pulling into the carpark he wanted to cry.

He should have fought harder for her .

He should have taken care of her .

He should have done something .

Jongin knew he was pathetic harping on the same subject over and over again .

Getting a grip on himself , he got out of the car and enter the lift . Taking in deep breaths he could feel the exhaustion set in . He just wanted a hot shower and good nights rest.

Entering his house he sighed . Just as he expected it was pitch black .

The digital clock that sat on the TV set read 1.30am.

Dragging himself up the stairs to his bedroom Jongin contemplated if a shower was really necessary. He remembered how much so Hee hated when he slept without showering .

Flicking the lights on he realised that the air conditioner was on . He was in so much trouble for leaving it on the entire month .

That was the least of his worries as another wave of exhaustion hit him.

Throwing his belt onto the bed , he heard a soft groan .

Jongin froze , he knew he hadn’t slept for 24 hours but he hadn’t hallucinated before . Turning to face his bed . Jongins eyes widened , who was that sleeping in his bed ?

The human being groaned after being hit by his belt .

Shaking , he tiptoed over ready to pull the covers over the person.

Silently counting to three in his head , he quickly pulled the covers .

“Turn off the lights ugh .”

The person whined covering their eyes .

“S-so Hee ? “

Removing her hands from her eyes . She glared at him .

“Lights .”

Nodding like an obedient puppy he flicked the lights off .

He could hear so Hee sigh in contentment .

“When did you get back ?”

She mumbled snuggling back under the covers .

“Just .”

He whispered not believing what was in front of him .

“Go shower and sleep . It’s late .”

She replied falling back asleep .

Before Jongin could ask what she was doing here he could hear her soft and even breaths.

Smiling he quickly took a shower .

After drying his hair Jongin glanced at the bed, still in disbelief that his Wife had came home.

Slipping under the covers he could make out her sleeping from.

Reaching a hand out he poked her cheek softly causing her to whine softly.

It was real.

Wrapping his arms around her waist , she unconsciously cuddled with him.

He could feel his heartbeat racing, she came back.

She came home.

Eyes snapping open , Jongin wondered if he had the best dream ever or if it was all real.

Turning to his side, she was nowhere to be found.

So it wasn’t true...

Sighing he slowly got out of bed.

Trudging down the stairs he realised it was already 1pm.

When was the last time he slept so well?

Pouting, walked into the kitchen plopping onto one of the stools.

“Morning sleepyhead.”

Whipping his head up, jongins eyes widened.

“So Hee?”

She rolled her eyes at his question.

There she stood in the middle of the kitchen cooking something as the baby balanced on her hip.

“W-when did you come back ? “

“Three weeks ago?? Two days after you left for Japan to be exact.”

Jongin wanted to die, if he had held out two days she would have came back.

“I thought you shifted out or something, after you didn’t come back for a week. Then I called your dad and he said you were in Japan. Your loss.”

She stuck out her tongue as she stirred whatever was in the stove.

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

Jongin asked looking like a defeated puppy.

“I wanted it to be surprise.”

She shrugged.

“I was so upset when you weren’t there when I woke up. I thought it was all a dream.”

Jongin teared.

“Are you crying? Oh my Gosh you’re more emotional than me when I was pregnant.”

Sighing, she placed the Beom on his lap.

“Play with him while I cook lunch.”

She ordered returning to chop some vegetables.

Jongin stared at the little boy.

“Hey baby you grew up so much.”

He smiled as the baby played with his fingers. His eyes once again attracted to the ring on his left finger.

Looking up, Jongin saw the golden band on so hees left hand.

Grinning, he carried the baby.

He knew he had hurt her. But he knew he could mend her back again.

It was then he knew he would make them okay again.

Their love started from square one.

It was baby blue.
