14. Stay By Your Side!

“What do you want to have as breakfast?” Mark typed on his phone, asking the younger

“Nothing, just leave me alone…...” Jinyoung said and went back to lying position, ignoring the elder

Mark let out a sigh and went out of the room. He went first to get his bag and pack out his belongings into the room where he will be staying, then he went to the kitchen to see what he can make for Jinyoung for breakfast. Jinyoung was thirsty so he went downstairs to the kitchen for some water, he is blind for now, but he already used to how he can go around the house without any help, he didn’t like to be helped, since he doesn’t want people to look down on him, so he always take care of himself even he was blind and had the bandage around his eyes.

“Why did you come downstairs by yourself? You can’t see now…... it is very dangerous……” Mark typed quickly and went to the younger

“None of your business, I can take care of myself…...” Jinyoung said with a cold tone and pulled his hand away from Mark’s hand

“You made breakfast?” Jinyoung asked since he smell food and felt a bit hungry

“Yeah, I made some scrambled egg and toast…...” Mark typed “Let’s have a seat and eat some breakfast…...” Mark typed again and stared at Jinyoung with a smile, even the younger can’t see it

“I’m not hungry, I just came to get some water…...” Jinyoung said, but his stomach betrayed him with the sound of hungriness, and it made Mark let out a chuckle

“Did you just laugh of me?” Jinyoung asked with a serious tone and strictly

“Ah…...” Mark let out a shocked sound

“Can people that are mute let out sounds? Like laughing? What to do?” Mark panicked and though inside of him

“Hey answer me…...” Jinyoung shouted irritated

“Sorry for laughing…...” Mark just typed and apologised

“Are you really mute?” Jinyoung asked, but Mark just let the silence answer the younger’s question

Jinyoung slowly went to find the table and sat down “Where is my breakfast?” Jinyoung muttered, he felt like he just lost his pride

“Breakfast coming right away…...” Mark smiled widely and typed, before getting the breakfast

“Let me help you…...” Mark typed, but Jinyoung declined

“I can eat by myself……” Jinyoung said and Mark let out a sigh before he took the younger’s hand and showed him where the food was

Jinyoung took the toast towards his mouth and took a bite, while Mark just sat on the other side, head on his hand observing Jinyoung eating breakfast. When Jinyoung was done with the toast, he wanted to have some scrambled egg, so he slowly moved his hand to find the spoon and egg. Mark saw and quickly took the spoon and put it near Jinyoung’s hand so he can find it. Jinyoung tried to get some egg on the spoon, but he failed the first time since he couldn’t see so he put an empty spoon inside his mouth. The younger tried again and succeeded, because he used his other hand to put egg on the spoon.

“Mhm, this is the best scrambled egg I ever had…...” Jinyoung thought in his mind while he ate the egg

When Jinyoung was about to put his third spoon of egg inside his mouth, his hand suddenly cramped, and the spoon fell from his hand

“Are you okay?” Mark typed quickly on his phone and asked, he was really worried. Mark wanted to hold and check on Jinyoung’s hand, but the younger moved his hand near his chest

“I’m fine….” Jinyoung said biting his lips, trying to keep calm and not showing his weakness just because of the pain

“You’re in pain……” Mark typed on his phone again

“I said I’m fine….” Jinyoung said strictly and breathed slowly. He puts down his hand tried to find the spoon again, it looks like the cramp went away

Jinyoung moved his hand around the table and found the spoon, he was about fill some egg on the spoon, but Mark grabbed the younger’s hand and stopped Jinyoung

“At least let me help you…...” Mark typed on his phone with just one hand. Jinyoung didn’t say anything and just stayed silent. Mark took the younger’s silent as a yes and pulled the spoon out of Jinyoung’s hand

Mark filled the spoon with scrambled egg with his other hand while he still holding into Jinyoung’s hand. But then he thought of how he will make Jinyoung open his mouth when he can’t speak or have hands to type one the phone. He didn’t want to let go of the younger’s hand since it had been so long since he last had held this hand. Mark choose to take the risk and make some noise

“Ah….” Mark said in low voice and pronounced it like it was hard for him to say it

Jinyoung heard Mark and slowly opened his mouth, he didn’t know why he let Mark hold his hand or feed him, but he just felt a bit safe

“Why am I letting him feed me? Even holding me? Is it because of his voice? No, it can’t be, it is just some robot telling me what he wanted to say……what’s wrong with you Park Jinyoung?” Jinyoung asked himself in his mind, but he still let Mark feed him and hold his hand

Mark gave the younger the last spoon of scrambled egg and then put down the spoon “We’re done…...” Mark typed with his other hand while he still holds into Jinyoung

“I’m thirsty……” Jinyoung said and Mark grabbed the glass of water without letting go of Jinyoung’s hand and feed Jinyoung with some water

Jinyoung then stands up from his seat and pulled away from Mark’s hold

“Where are you going?” Mark quickly typed and asked the younger

“My room…...” Jinyoung said and started to go towards the stairs while he had his hands in front of him trying to find the way up to his room

“Let me help you….” Mark typed and went towards the younger, but Jinyoung shouted no

“No, I can find my way up myself…. I don’t need anyone to help me……” Jinyoung shouted and continued to find his way to the stairs. He doesn’t want to feel weak, he doesn’t want people to think or see him as a week man

Mark let out a sigh and all he can do is make sure that Jinyoung doesn’t fall, so he went fast in front of the younger and moved away the things on the floor where Jinyoung is going so he wont bumping into it and fall. When Jinyoung finally found the stairs and lifted his foot to go upstairs, he slipped and fell forward. Luckily Mark was beside him and catch him quickly. They just stayed there and none of them said anything. Mark then lifted and carried Jinyoung and bridal way and went upstairs to Jinyoung’s room. Jinyoung didn’t know why he let Mark carry him, but he felt familiar with the hold of the elder.

Jinyoung can hear the heartbeat of the elder, it felt so familiar yet so unfamiliar, but he felt close and a bit safe. Mark put Jinyoung down slowly on the younger’s bed in sitting position and covered Jinyoung with a blanked

“Don’t think that I would thank you, because I won’t…... just get out now, I want some rest…...” Jinyoung said with a pout

“Have you always been so cute Jinyoungie?” Mark chuckled and thought in his mind

“Ok, just let me know if you want something or me to help you……have a good rest…...” Mark typed, and the phone read out for Jinyoung to hear

Mark went out of the room and started to clean the mess on the kitchen from the breakfast. Mark also cleaned up the house, he moved all the unnecessary things from the floor so Jinyoung wont bump into something and fall.

Mark filled a glass with water and went up to Jinyoung, the younger had already lied down for some sleep. The elder let the glass of water at the nightstand beside of the bed so Jinyoung could drink it later. Mark moved around in the room of Jinyoung, he had never been in at the younger’s house. They always on a date outside or in the bar. If they wanted alone time, they would just stay in the VIP room in the bar, just cuddle.

The elder saw a big bookcase filled with books. Many of the books still had sticky note on the pages. Some of the books was filled of poem, some was novels, there were even some history books. Mark never knew that Jinyoung liked to read, the younger never showed any interest in books, or it was just Mark that didn’t know anything about Jinyoung

“It must be so much I don’t know about you……” Mark muttered and let out a sad smile, he felt bad for not trying to get to know Jinyoung better
