Okay.

 

 It's my first time to visit his place though we're friends since then.

 

 He's kinda mysterious in such way that nobody in school knows where he actually lives.

 

We entered their house, and my jaw dropped seeing it that huge.

 

 

 

 "Welcome to my sanctuary.."

 

 He smile as he welcomes me.

 

 

 

 "This is really a sanctuary."

 

 "I'm glad that you love it."

 

 "Hmm?"

 

 He just smile and held my hands as we went to the living room.

 

 

 

 "Okay. This place.. Really.. Amazing.."

 

 "What do you want to eat then? I'll cook for you!"

 

 I get up and say "I'll help you!"

 

 

 

 "What should we cook?"

 

 I looked at him and smile then I opened the fridge to search for possible ingredients.

 

 

 

"Whoa?! You have everything here!"

 

 "You think?"

 

 I nodded.

 

 

 

 "You want pizza? or pasta? Or want to bake cake?"

 

 I asked him.

 

 

 

 "Anything you want."He replied.

 

 

 

 I pout. "Why is it so hard to decide..?"

 

 

 

 "Then let's cook it all!"

 

 He answered happily.

 

 

 

 "Eh? All? It's just the two of us here, how are we going to eat it all?"

 

 

 

"We don't have classes tomorrow right?

 

 We can stay up all night eating and bonding..

 

 You know?'

 

 

 

 "Wow. There must be a reason to celebrate."

 

 

 

 "There is.."

 

 He whispered.

 

 

 

 "What is it?"

 

 "Birthday."

 

 "Birthday? Whom? You?"

 

 "No.. It's my late father's.."

 

 "Ooh.. Sorry.."

 

 "No need to say sorry. Let's just celebrate..

 

 For years, I've been celebrating his birthday alone,

 

 So I'm happy that you're here with me now.."

 

 

 

 He forced a smile and started to prepare.

 

 

 

 "So how's the test earlier?"He asked.

 

 

 

 "Fine. I think I'll be able to pass it."

 

 "How about Math?"

 

 "I wish.."I pout

 

 

 

 "Want me to teach you?"

 

 

 

 "Ohh nooo.. It's okay. I'll just do it.."

 

 

 

 "You sure?"

 

 

 

 "Yes. If ever I needed your help, I'll definitely call you."

 

 

 

 "Good."I replied with a smile.

 

 

 

 "Can you pass the kitchen knife..?"

 

 "Yes ma'am.. Here you go!"

 

 "What's up with that?"

 

 "It's just that I'm not that good in cooking and you are, so I consider you as my boss."

 

 "HAHAHA! Boss?! Haha! Funny!"

 

 "You're my boss now, no matter what!"

 

 "Fine. Fine. Help me with this stuff please."

 

 "Okay boss. Anything for you."

 

 "Silly."

We've finished all the cooking and preparations and started to eat.

 

 I put a small candle on the top of our baked chocolate cake and lighten it.

 

 Then I started to pray as Nickhun follow my lead..

 

 

 

"In the name of the Father, the son and the Holy spirit, Amen.

 

 Lord God, thank You for this me in our front.

 

 Thank You for the courage You gave us for us to answer our test questions earlier.

 

 I know that You're with this little boy's father now,

 

 Please let him know how much he loves him and tell him HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the both of us. AMEN.."

 

 

 

 I continued..

 

 

 

"Happy Birthday uncle! Let's eat Khunnie!"

 

 

 

 As I opened my eyes, I found Nickhun staring at me.

 

 

 

"Hey.. Why?"

 

 

 

Still staring.

 

 

 

 "You're not eating?" I started to eat pasta.

 

 

 

 He stood up and hugged me tightly.

 

 

 

"Ooh! You shocked me! What's up?"

 

He still embrace me as he answer;  "Nothing.. I just want to thank you.."

 

 

 

"Thank me for what? I haven't done anything yet."

 

 

 

 "No. You've done a lot more than you'll ever know.."

 

 

 

"Hmm? Okay. Since I'm your boss, now I want you to eat this."

 

 I sliced a piece of cake and I'm waiting for him to eat it.

 

 

 

"You do this again.."

 

 "You're not going to refuse, right?"

 

 "Of course not. I'm getting used with it."

 

 "You should!"

 

 

 

He grabbed it and slowly swallow it then he gave me a smile.

 

 

 

 "Yummy?"I asked He nodded.

 

 

 

"Okay. Good boy. Now go back to your sit now and continue eating. I want to eat too, you know?"

 

 "As you wish."

After our dinner, I washed the dishes and saw Nickhun packing up foods.

 

 

 

"What was that for?"

 

 "Ahh,. This? It's for your mom. She should taste this too, our masterpiece."

 

 "Ohh! I haven't called mom yet! Aish!"

 

 

 

 I rushed to the living room where I put my bag and quickly search for my phone.

 

When I opened it, it has 12 missed calls and 3 unread messages.

 

I read the unread messages first and I dropped my phone as I lose my balance and almost collapse because of what I've just read..
