T o L i v e [ like a spider lily ]
Description
Of all the firsts in the world, it's no wonder that a spider lily bank would become the first of them all.
Foreword
Chanyeol first meets him in a field of spider lilies on the banks near the Han Bridge.
He's sprawled in between the different shades of red, leaning back on his palms, eyes closed and facing the sky. The wind makes a few strands of his hair fly off to the side, but still he keeps his eyes closed. Chanyeol thinks it's beautiful, although he isn't quite sure if he's referring to the flowers or the person.
He takes a cautious step towards the spider-lily boy. The latter makes no indication that he has seen Chanyeol, for his eyelids remain pressed together even when the taller tries to exchange greetings.
¨Yeoboseyo.¨ Chanyeol hesitantly extends his arm out to the black-haired boy, but receives no response. He drops his arm back down by his side, and stands there awkwardly. Only when the wind has proceeded to blow some spider lilies 180 degrees from their original position does he slowly sit down beside him.
Waving his hand in front of the boy's face, Chanyeol gets a little worried. Is he unconscious? Is he not feeling well? Is he tired? Being the considerate and compassionate human being that he is, Chanyeol intelligently blurts out the first thing on the tip of his tongue.
¨Are you dead?¨
The wind whistles.
The spider lilies sigh.
The black-haired boy says nothing.
The black-haired boy does not even open his eyes.
