Chapter 3- My friends...and theirs [Part II]
Happiness after LossCatching up with Jihyo unnie about the past 2 years, relieved alot of my inner sadness. As our second order arrived we both broke from our talks and realized our other friend was not here yet.
"Ya-ah...this is Jiyoon-ie really does not keep to time does she???!!!" Jihyo unnie exasperatedly told, while I laughing looked over to the kids to see if they were ok and it filled me with warmth to see the two kids gel up just as well as unnie and I.
"Yaahhhh Jiyoon-ah, were in the world are you!!! You are more than an hour late, dont tell me you still havent left your job, Ms. hotshot!!! Drag your here right now!!" Jihyo unnie went on in korean for the next two minutes into the phone at my close friend from my post-grad days in the US. Song Ji Yoon was a hi-flying urban land consultant to a top research institute in Korea and was always flying to some or the other conference either in the country or beyond it. She had a daughter, Tara- who was Jun's age and she herself was Jihyo unnie's same age. Both got acquainted via me but kept in touch more than me because they were in the same country. Mostly via phone because both were always busy.
"I'm here now..so stop calling now will you? I'm not a small child anymore!!"...She arrived shortly after the phone call and we all fell into a group hug. Tara ran into our arms and broke off from us, to give a quick hug and in equal hurry rushed off to play with Jun. Both were in the same school and were good friends too.
Now finally with the three of us settled into our cozy arm chairs, we started catching up with all that we missed out-jumping between korean and english as well as I could manage.
"Eun-jae did you not say you had to shift, did you find a place yet?" Jihyo unnie asked.
"Well I....." I was just about to answer when a small crowd of college girls entered into the cafe behind a male who was trying his best to avoid them. He quickly lifted his head up and seemed to look for someone. The cafe staff realizing who he was politely asked the crowd to either be customers of the cafe or leave but not cause nuisance to the other customers which they were clearly being, as some of the other customers in the main lounge started looking up from their quiet zone over to the entrance and then following the guy into our moderately noisy section.
"Ah...nooona why do you keep making me do this!!!" Kim Dong jun si
