Time for a flashback- finally an explaination to what 'loss' and sadness the main character is facing despite her daily bundle of joy- Ray, her amazing friends and neighbours. I do need to warn you, its going to be really sad, so please do not read if you are not keen on death and sadness. Otherwise please do comment!

Boom....Crackle...

The thundering and rains were incessant, it was past midnight and I could not sleep. This was bringing back memories. It wasn't that it hadn't rained since we moved to Seoul, but this was different, the thundering was not showing any signs of stopping and along with the non-stop rain, I was slowly being pulled back to that day less than 4 years ago.  Of memories that brought a sour taste in the mouth, the bad memories, ones' of loss after uncurtailed happiness from a past life.

(Flashback, to a different land and almost 3.75 years ago)

"Honey, what time is the flight landing?"

"How many times do I tell you!!! Its going to come at 1.30 am and you need to leave in....."  frustrated I looked at the clock, " ...2 hours now...". I was in my last tri-semester and this huge body on my small frame was not helping with all the mood swings due to sleepless nights and bloating.

"heheheh...I know I know darling, just wanted to check your level of excitement!!" my hubby winked coming behind me and taking me into a big hug. Despite the pregnancy I was surprised how I could fit into him so easily. Well he was a giant at 6' and an athletic body. It was a stark difference to me who stood at 5' and athletic built, well not currently. We had met at university, gotten married 2 years later and were now expecting our first child in the 5th year of our marriage. 

"Hmmpph... you know I did not sleep yesterday right then why do you do this! Anyways I've made you your favorite snack-its on the table, go get it so we can keep ourselves awake for you to head out to pick them up. I still dont belive you want to personally go pick them." I kept talking while going out into the family room and turning on the TV.

"Oh honey come on, its our parents you are talking about," as he walked to towards the kitchen, he turned and looked at me with a mischevious smile,"...and who knows what all our mothers would buy along the way if we leave them alone at the duty free.....hahah"

He was right the last time they were here was just six months ago, when I told them I was expecting and despite the fact they were travelling to go on vacation they shopped at the duty free, landed at their destination and shipped all of those items to us!!!! Talk about splurging.

"Well I guess you are right...ughhhhh...I just feel like I am missing you already..." I uttered this slowly but somewhow he heard it and sank into the seat beside me, putting the snacks down and pulling me into a side hug.

We watched some TV for an hour, during which I must have dozed off, because now I heard hime slowly call out my name.

"Honey Its time. I need to get going."

"Huh...already" I was rubbing my eyes looking at the watch..." ....I told you to not say it in such a way. You should always say 'I will be back !' " 

I was superstitious like that.
