Lights Out
Cry Out With My Heart and Soul
Let me tell you something about Henry. He's a really cool guy and extremely good-looking, so me falling in love with him isn't really all that far-fetched. But see, he's only this 'really cool guy' if you're on his good side. I've seen what he's done to some of the people on his bad side, and trust me, it's not pretty. The fate those people went through is a fate worse than death.
Right now, Yesung was on his bad side. Despite having only known him for two days, I wanted to protect him with my life. Especially because it was my damn fault he was in this mess. Our footsteps pounded the ground in my ears, and I could hear Henry's not too far behind us.
Another thing about Henry: he's a really good runner. He was number one on our school's cross country team, so I knew he could run fast and long. Longer and faster than me, who was number two. My hand was tight against Yesung's, who ran slightly behind me. I heard cracks like fireworks behind us and realized Henry was shooting at us. That meant two things: 1) we were in more danger and 2) he would have to run slower in order to get a better shot.
So as long as we kept up this pace, there was a chance we'd get out of his range. I caught a flame of hope and began to run faster, dragging Yesung behind me.
Crack! I hit the ground. "Wookie?" Yesung still didn't let go of my hand as I writhed in pain. My leg was bleeding badly and I struggled for Yesung's other hand to hold on to. He didn't seem to mind when my nails dug into his skin. He didn't even seem to mind when Henry caught up to us and pointed a gun to his face. He just continued to ask if I was alright.
"You. Yesung." Yesung looked up at Henry, who motioned for him to stand up and let go of me. As soon as he was a yard away from me, Henry took Yesung's spot. "Wookie, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shoot you. I was aiming for Yesung." His hands cupped my face and I held on to his arms, not even caring how deep I dug my nails into his skin. I hoped he would bleed.
I don't know if he did, though, because the whole time, my eyes were closed tight from the pain. Henry kept on repeating my name, trying to get me to look at him. Finally, I opened my eyes in anger, then punched him. He fell to the ground and I stood up shakily and limped over to Yesung, who put an arm around my waist to support me. We watched as Henry stood up and glared at Yesung. He began to walk over.
"So Yesung's your new number one?" We stayed silent. "Well I'm afraid I can't allow that." He said something else, but by then, I was slipping from my grip on reality. My vision faded and as soon as my blurred vision saw Yesung get knocked to the ground, I was gone.
