Dead
Cry Out With My Heart and Soul
I didn’t stick around to see how the scene would play out. Numbly, I found myself walking back to Cocohodo, where I’d left my car. I opened the door mechanically and stepped inside. Taking a deep breath, I started the car. I found myself heading down a new road – a road I’d never before explored.
Most people, upon driving down a stretch of empty road, might see just how fast their car could go. However, I was going at an increasingly slow rate. In fact, I didn’t even notice at first when my car stopped completely. I gently pushed on the gas again. Nothing. I looked on the dash board and saw no lights on, but my keys were still in the ignition.
“Damn,” I slammed my hands on the steering wheel. “What a time for a dead battery.”
