Cry Out With My Heart and Soul
That night, I had the most confusing dream ever. First, I was standing on one side of a glass wall, with Henry on the other side. The glass then broke and Henry was gone. I looked around the see Yesung standing by my side, smiling and holding my hand. Henry stood behind another glass wall, yelling and screaming at us to walk away. The dream then shifted, and Yesung was on the other side of the glass. His muffled voice screamed my name: “Wookie! Wookie!”
Then, suddenly, his voice slowly became clearer, his words softer, I began to wonder if the glass had broken, but it remained between the two of us. “Wookie,” he nearly cooed. Then an earthquake began.
“Yesung,” I asked, “what’s going on? Are we having an earthquake?”
He laughed at me, then. “Open your eyes. You’re dreaming.”
“I am?”
“Yes, you are. And if you’re having an earthquake, I guess it’s not a very good dream.” I opened my eyes to see Yesung hovering over me. “Now who’s on the ground?”
I laughed and Yesung helped me up, and then tossed me my shirt. “We should really start being prepared for spontaneous trips out here. Carol and Harvey are nice enough to let us stay here, but they shouldn’t have to provide us tooth brushes all the time.”
“Good point. Come on; I smell breakfast.”
After breakfast, Yesung and I walked over to Chuck’s place to pick up my car. We agreed that Yesung would drive my car back and I would drive my motorcycle, seeing as how Yesung didn’t have a motorcycle license. We were almost ready to go when my phone rang.
“Hello?”
“Ryeowook where are you?” Eunhyuk’s voice was fast and panicked.
“Relax; we’ll be on hour way home shortly. Want to do lunch?”
“Sure. Wait… who’s ‘we’?”
“Yesung and I.”
“Oh, I see how it is,” I could almost see Eunhyuk’s smug smile. “You getting close with Yesung?”
“Hyukie, you know I’m not like that.”
“People change. You never know.”
“Hyukie…”
“I’m just saying! Have you confessed to him yet?”
“H-huh?”
“Oh come on. You seriously thought you had been hiding it all this time? Even Henry figured it out, and the guy’s dense as .”
I felt myself blush. “Is it really that obvious?”
“Uh, yeah. You’re really stupid.”
I rolled my eyes. “So you’re saying I should tell him.” Yesung looked up at me.
“Yes.”
“No, thank you.”
“Why not?!”
“I have my reasons.”
“Which are…?”
“I’m not telling.”
“You’ll tell me at lunch, though.”
I paused. “Maybe.”
“No, you will.”
“Bye, Eunhyuk!”
“Come by my place and we’ll go to lunch!”
“Fine, bye.”
“Was that Eunhyuk?” Yesung asked.
“Yeah, he wanted to know where I was.”
“You still drive off without telling anyone, huh?” I nodded. “You’re going to get yourself into trouble someday.”
“And I’ll drive into nowheresville until then.”
Yesung sighed a what-am-I-going-to-do-with-you sigh and said, “Well, we better get going if you want to meet Eunhyuk. I have to work today, too.”
--
Yesung seemed to enjoy my baby. Every time I looked back at him, he was either smiling or making his I’m-so-y face, which he was. It made me think about what Eunhyuk said.
I should confess, I thought to myself. But then, It’s only a slight chance that he loves me, too. I sighed. What’s life without taking a few risks?
Exactly that: life. Those who die are the ones who take risks. “You’re so impossible.” I said to myself.
We dropped my motorcycle off at my apartment and then Yesung drove us to his own apartment. “Can I keep it?” He asked as he parked the car.
“No, it’s my pride and glory for a reason. At that, I haven’t had it for over half a year, thank you.” Yesung gave me a puppy face. “I let you drive it all the way home. That should be enough.” Yesung’s eyes got bigger. “No. You can’t have my baby. End of story.”
“Please?” He was so adorable, it took all of my willpower not to kiss him and screw things up. Finally, he got out of the car and went into the apartment complex and I scooted to the driver’s seat.
I picked Eunhyuk up ten minutes later. “Where to?” He asked.
“I don’t know. You pick.”
Eunhyuk thought for a second before answering. “What about a café? Like Cocohodo or something.”
“Cocohodo isn’t lunch. It’s a coffee shop.”
“Well I want to go there!”
“Alright, fine.”
“Yay! And I’ll get you to tell me!”
“No you won’t.” I smiled.
