Cry Out With My Heart and Soul
My red convertible sped down the open road. To my left was ocean and to my right was prairie. The wind felt good in my hair as I on the bubble gum dum dum I'd gotten at the gas station, twirling it in my mouth as I drove. Suddenly, I found myself having to slam on the breaks. Some guy with black hair planted himself in front of my car from his spot on the side of the road.
"Gee thanks for stopping!! I really appreciate it!" The guy began to put his bag in the back and picked up a dog I hadn't noticed before.
"What the do you think you're doing?" Shocked, the guy looked up.
"W-well…you stopped…so I thought…"
"You caught me in the middle of a friggin bad mood."
"Oh…um… I'm sorry. I'll just…" He began to remove his bag from the back of my car and then sat again by the side of the road. His dog yapped and began his face, which made him smile. He was pretty handsome, after all.
I sighed. "Look. I'm sorry. Just get back in the car. No one's coming for miles and you'll probably end up staying here overnight."
"No, no. I don't want to interfere with your bad mood."
Rolling my eyes, I unbuckled my seatbelt and opened my door, then walked around the car and stood in front of him. "Get in the damn car."
"Not if you're in a bad mood."
I laughed slightly and put my hands on my hips. Could you believe this guy? "Fine then. Would you please get in the car so I could not feel bad later on when I'm in a better mood?"
The black-haired guy stared up at me. "I should say no, because you really are still in a bad mood, but you're right. You're probably the last person I'll see on this road, not that I saw anyone before. So then, I'll take you up on your offer. Here, could you hold Ewok for a second while I put my bag in your car?"
"Ewok?" I said taking the dog. "You mean like the thing from Star Wars?" He did look like an Ewok, after all…
"Yup. I adopted him from an animal rescue place a few years ago. I'm Yesung, by the way. And you are…?"
"Uh… Ryeowook. My friends call me Wookie."
"How funny! That's Ewok's nickname!" Ewok barked and my arm right at my elbow – a weak point of mine and a secret whilst in the midst of a tickle fight. I laughed as Yesung took him from me. "Hey. I got you to smile!"
"No you didn't! That was Wookie!" Yesung smiled from inside the car and I walked around to my side. I drove down the road in silence – mainly because Yesung was doing all the talking – until Yesung told me to stop the car.
