Chapter 6 : I Doubt It
In Another Life
“This should be right,” Minkyung thought, “this was what Nayoung texted me but it’s only a two-room apartment. They can’t possibly be living by themselves at this age.”
Nonetheless, she rung the doorbell.
“Hello?”
“Yebin? It’s me Minkyung!”
“Min-Minkyung unnie? Wha-what are you doing here?”
“Hehe, why don’t you let me in and I’ll tell you?”
“Oh yes, of course, the front door should be unlocked now.”
Minkyung pushed the door open and looked forward, grinning as she saw Yebin’s head poke out from a door a few metres away from her. She smiled back before entering the room.
She really liked the way the girls had organised their apartment. It was all quite simple, a living room with a white couch along the walls, a kitchen that was neatly polished and two bedrooms directly in front of the entrance. The girls had mainly decorated it with colours of white and soft blue and orange as well as black. There was also a soft scent of citrus which satisfied Minkyung a lot.
“Wow. This place is beautiful.”
“I’m glad you like it.”
Yebin walked over to the couch and sat down, Minkyung followed her.
“I was wondering, how do you even know where I live?”
“Oh, your sister sent me the address last night. I was worried because of.. ..actually, nevermind.”
Minkyung stopped herself and ended her sentence with a charming smile. She didn’t want Yebin to find her noisy and she just hoped Yebin would drop the subject. Unfortunately, Yebin picked up the awkward tone.
“Worried because of what?”
“No nothing, it wasn’t important.”
“Tell me, please.”
While Minkyung could tell she was begging her, she could also hear a tone of determination.
“I was just worried because I heard you screaming yesterday.”
Yebin abruptly stood up. She didn’t know where she got the courage from but she took hold of Minkyung’s wrist.
“My room now.”
